Not a boy- part 2

GMDJPDOFDHWD asked for a oneshot of a sequel to Ch2249 "Not a boy" where Snow and Charming have a little boy and Emma gets jealous, forgetting everything her dad once told her.

Sorry guest, you were beaten to it for this request :).

Tina and Jessica: Your requests were very similar and posted very close together.

Charming still felt like he was floating on air. It had been six days since his son was born, but Charming was still elated. Every time he and Snow had another baby join their family his heart stretched just that little more. Now little Neal was here and he was so very happy. He decided to take a break and go see Snow and the baby. He got to their room just in time to see five year old Emma storming out of it.

"Hey baby girl, what's wrong?" He asked her. Emma ignored him, which was very unlike her, and kept on going. Charming watched just to make sure she went into her room. He grimaced. She had a face like thunder. That wasn't like Emma at all. He continued into his and Snow's room.

"What was that about?" He asked as he kissed Snow and Neal. Snow looked as confused as he was.

"I'm not sure exactly. She's been off for a while now. I was trying to help her bond with Neal. I asked if she wanted to hold him. She said no. When I asked why she suddenly exploded. She said that the baby was stupid. That all boys are stupid and then she stormed out. I don't know what's wrong with her." Snow said. Charming could tell she was distressed. She clearly wanted to get to the bottom of what was upsetting Emma, but she also had to look after Neal. Clearly having Emma near Neal right now wasn't a good idea. Charming thought he had a good idea of what was upsetting her though. He kissed Snow's head.

"I'll sort this out." He promised her. "Do you remember not long before we found out you were pregnant again Emma was having some problems with Marali and Alysa telling her I didn't love her as much because she wasn't a boy?" He asked. Snow nodded. Charming looked at his son. "Now we have a boy." He pointed out. Snow understood. Emma was jealous of her baby brother, and worried that her daddy now having a son would mean he now really wouldn't love her as much. "I'll go talk to her." He said. He then left Snow and Neal to go have a word with Emma. He poked his head through the door to find Emma sitting cross-legged on her bed, clearly in a huff.

"Hey sweetie." He greeted her gently. Emma didn't even look at him. Charming came in and sat on the end of Emma's bed. "What was all that about with mommy and Neal?" He asked her. Charming already knew, but he wanted to hear it from Emma.

"I don't like the stupid baby." Emma grumped. "I don't want a baby brother. Send him back." Charming had to bite his lip not to smile at her innocence.

"It doesn't really work like that, honey. Neal's here for good. Why don't you like him?" Charming pressed.

"I don't like boys." Emma grumbled. "They're stupid."

"So this wouldn't have anything to do with what your sisters said to you before Neal was in mommy's tummy?" Charming asked her. Emma stayed silent. Charming pulled her up onto his lap. "Emma, have you forgotten everything I said to you when that happened?" He asked her gently.

"No." Emma sniffled. "But then you had a little boy anyway. Maybe you don't love me as much." Charming was hurt that Emma could ever think she and her sisters wouldn't be enough for him. He cuddled Emma close.

"I love you as much as I love Neal, and as much as I love both of your sisters." He promised her. "Just because you have a little brother now doesn't change the fact that I love you to the moon and back, Emma Ruth. You're still my special baby girl." He told her. Emma nodded, beginning to feel guilty about shouting at her mommy and Neal.

"I shouldn't have shouted at mommy." She said quietly. "Or called Neal stupid."

"No, you shouldn't have." Charming agreed. "But it's ok, we all get upset sometimes and say things that we shouldn't. What matters is that we understand we were wrong and make it right. So how do you think you can make that right?" Emma thought for a moment.

"By saying I'm sorry?" She suggested. Charming kissed her forehead.

"I think that's a great idea." He praised her as he stood up with Emma on his hip. "Come on, we'll go through together." Charming then carried Emma back through to his and Snow's room. She hid her face against his shoulder. "It's ok." He assured her. "Mommy's not mad."

"Hey honey." She said gently. "All better now? Did daddy sort it out?" Emma nodded as Charming put her on the bed beside Snow.

"I'm sorry that I shouted at you." Emma said quietly. She then peaked at the baby in her mommy's arms. "I'm sorry I called you stupid, Neal. I promise I'll be a better big sister." Snow's heart melted. She looked up at Charming, silently giving him thanks for making their baby girl feel better. She moved Neal into one arm so she could wrap her free one around Emma.

"We both forgive you, angel." Snow said, kissing the top of Emma's head. "Neal knows you're going to be a great big sister, so do we." Charming nodded beside Snow. "Do you want to hold him now?" Emma seemed hesitant, but in the end, she nodded. Charming sat on the other side of Emma so she had help. Snow then moved the baby into her arms. Emma peered down at her baby brother curiously.

"Hi Neal." She whispered. His little eyes peeked open, looking up at her. Snow and Charming looked across at each other lovingly. She was going to be ok, they all were.
