Emma's drawing
A guest asked for a oneshot of Snow finding a drawing of her that Emma has made. Will contain season 6 spoilers.
I often came up here during the day. Just as often as I routed through Charming's wardrobe and drawers. I knew how crazy I must have looked to an outsider, smelling my husband's shirts or my daughter's pillow. But I didn't really care. I missed them. I missed them like crazy. I didn't even know if they would make it back…no, they would make it back. I couldn't think of a life without either of them in it. They would find a way out of the Underworld and my family would be reunited.
It was one of my times in Emma's bedroom that I found something. Something so precious.
I knew Emma kept little mementos from her childhood hidden. Every so often I would find one or Emma would choose to show me one. I found one in her wardrobe. I hadn't been snooping. I was just looking for her scarf. I wanted something to feel that reminded me of her like I had Charming's shirts. That's when I found it. A little box. A box that contained just a few sheets of artwork that Emma must have done as a child. One such art piece was something Emma had done when I guessed she was about five or six years old. On top was written in scribbly handwriting mommy. Sure, it could have been the foster mother Emma was with at the time…but it did kind of look like me. About as much as a child's scribbles could look like. I held the drawing up to my chest, fighting back the tears. A drawing from my little girl. My little girl who was missing, along with my husband. I clutched my knuckles around the edges of the paper shakily. It would not be a moment too soon when they came home, then I'd never let either of them out of my sight ever again.
