Meeting Santa
Soprano Pixie asked for a oneshot of Emma freaking out after encountering Santa after falling asleep watching Christmas movies on TV. She then realises he's just as much a fairy tale as her parents and calms down.
Merry Christmas guys! And to those who may not celebrate Christmas, I hope you have a wonderful day :). I got this request and since I had a tiny bit of spare time thought I'd squeeze it in. I'm afraid after this I can't do any Christmas requests, but please feel free to send me your other prompts as normal!
Thud. Emma awoke with a start. She hadn't even realised she'd fallen asleep. She'd been watching It's a wonderful life and before George even realised he was important, Emma had fallen asleep. The blanket over her told her that her parents had noticed she was sleeping and covered her up, so she must have been out for a while. Her first thought of that noise was that one of her parents had fallen or tripped over one of Neal's toys, so she went to investigate. What she saw nearly made her collapse. There was a thief in their home, right by the Christmas tree. A thief who had the nerve to dress up as Santa Clause.
"Hey." Emma hissed, not wanting to wake up and alarm her family. "Really? On Christmas Eve night? My son and little brother are waking up to those presents tomorrow, pal. You're not taking anything from there. Beat it, before I throw your ass in jail." Emma warned him. The thief smiled warmly at her.
"Well I know Henry and Neal will be opening these gifts tomorrow, Emma. Me and my elves have been working hard all year to make sure we get whatever is on their list." Emma was puzzled. This guy was clearly unstable. He thought he was the real deal. From the sack Emma thought he was putting presents in, he took two out and laid them under the tree. "They're both on my nice list, but of course. I checked it twice just to make sure. Have a wonderful day, Emma. I'm glad you finally have your family to spend it with." And with that, the stranger walked towards the fireplace…and disappeared up it. Emma blinked, astounded…had she really met the real Santa?
The next morning, after Emma spent the remainder of the night tossing and turning, she spoke to her parents about the encounter. Neither of them seemed surprised.
"You should have been sleeping. He's not a fan of people interrupting him. He has a busy schedule to stick to." Snow pointed out.
"Wait, he was real?" Emma croaked. "Like, Santa's actually real?" Snow and Charming smiled at her.
"Well of course he is, Emma. Does that really still surprise you after finding out you're the daughter of Snow White and Prince Charming? Santa's sleigh lets him jump realms. He doesn't want children in any realm missing out. That's how this world knows him. Although here children think of him as a story. I can see why you got a bit of a fright." Emma was just staring at her parents, shocked. She had accused Santa of robbing them and threatened to throw him in jail. Well, it looked like she might be starting the year on the naughty list.
