Using her emotions- part 2
CharmingsDaughter asked for a oneshot of a sequel to Ch2261 "Using her emotions" where Emma contemplates going with Ingrid just to keep her family safe.
Charminator: Claims to hate my work, but keeps reading…hmm. I'm allergic to kiwi fruit, so if I choose to eat it I don't tend to whinge to the person who offered it to me (do you need me to explain the comparison dear?). Aye, because the little boy would know or be told Hook was a murderer and that's why he would find him cool. Yes, that was my logic. Have the little boy be a mini sociopath. Got me in one. I'm not going to waste any more of my time on you if you're too cowardly to so much as log in to allow me to properly defend myself. As usual, your little whines just get deleted anyway. So unless you're going to stop acting like a child and actually log in, I'm just going to ignore you. Stamp, scream, go the whole hog and write your reviews in caps locks. Have fun dear. I'll be over on the other side of that bridge we discussed writing more of my stories.
The next few days were tense. Ingrid continued to chip away at Emma's emotions, still trying to loosen her ties with her family. Snow and Charming thought she was coping tremendously well. That was until Snow had gone upstairs to do some cleaning and found Emma shoving stuff into a holdall.
"Emma, what are you doing?" Snow asked her, alarmed. Emma sighed. She had been hoping not to get caught. It would have made things much easier.
"Leaving." Emma answered abruptly. "It's easier this way." Emma grabbed the half-filled bag and tried to leave the room. Snow put her arm out, blocking the exit.
"Charming." Snow called down, her eyes locked with Emma's. "Emma's trying to leave."
"Huh?" Charming asked, confused. Why would Emma leaving the house be a problem? He came up to see what all the fuss was about. When he saw the holdall in Emma's hand, he understood why Snow was alarmed. He was too. Charming folded his arms across his chest. "No way." He said sternly. "Emma, this isn't the answer…"
"Then what is?" Emma snapped. "Ingrid isn't going to stop until she has me. I don't intend on staying there and being part of her freaky family. I just need to get her to back off. The easiest way of doing that is to act like I've given in. She'll keep coming at me. She'll hurt you too, and maybe even Henry. I won't have that."
"The easiest way isn't always the right way, Emma." Snow said gently. She came in and plucked the bag from Emma's hand and put it down. She then took Emma's hand and led her to her bed, sitting down with her. Charming came and joined them both.
"It isn't safe for you to go straight to Ingrid. We have no idea what strategies she already has in place to hurt you into doing what she wants. We appreciate you trying to protect us. It's sweet, but not your job. We protect you. Not the other way around. You'll be ok, baby. We will stop Ingrid, but not like this." Snow and Charming could see that Emma still wanted to go. She just wanted this to be over. To stop having to look over her shoulder every couple of minutes. Snow kissed the side of her head.
"She hurt you a few days ago. She's continuing to do so. We won't let you go to her to have that continue for longer than needed. Don't give in to her, Emma. Be strong. We will win this. We'll win it for you." Emma rested her head against her father's shoulder, feeling defeated. She wasn't sure how they would be able to defeat Ingrid. But she knew her parents were right. Going to Ingrid wasn't the right answer. She had known that all along. She had just wanted to protect her family. She hoped they were right. She hoped they could keep her safe.
