(Lucille)

Of course, I understand how confused my family was. They thought I was dead. To be honest, I was surprised that Virgil was home.

But, it wouldn't last. He was soon dying, right in front of me. Why had he been shot? More to the point, why had he been shot, without an order to the soldier who shot him? My family clearly sharing my feelings.

"GET OFF THE ISLAND! YOU HURT MY BROTHER!" I heard Scott yell.

Casey has turned to the GDF officer who fired. "YOU IDIOT! NEXT TIME, WAIT FOR MY ORDER!" She yells. "I apologize for the misunderstanding, Tracys. Forgive me. The officer is new to the team, but that doesn't make it right for him to shot at people without instruction. Until next time, goodbye." With that, the GDF return to their ships, heading to their base. Now, my turn for order-making. I turn to my family.

"Jeff, Get Brains to prepare the med-bay! Scott and John, get Virgil downstairs! Me, Gordon, Alan, and Penelope will clean up the mess and follow you." I order, gently but strictly. My family nods, and soon, we are all sat or stood next to Virgil.

"He's gonna make it, right Brains?" Scott asks fear in his voice about the safety of the soon to be 16-year-old hybrid on the bed.

"W-well, Scott. I b-believe he'll be a-awake in time for h-his party." Brains replies, to 8 sighs of relief. From my 4 awake boys, my husband, me, Penelope, and the boys' Grandma too.

"Something's not right though" John states.

"What's that, Johnny?" My boys ask, each one with fear and concern.

"I mean, why would Casey see the need to shot at him in the first place. Her way has always been asking first, shot later. That couldn't have been her!" he answers. It's clear what everyone was thinking, all we need is someone to speak it for us. It's Penelope who takes the task, though quieter than usual for her.

"You don't think... it could have been... Him, do you?" Her silk, soft voice asks.

I turn to her. "Him... we all know it could only be him, Penelope." I respond. Each face paling, except Virgil's, whose colour seemed to be returning.

"He better not mess with Virge again! I WILL KILL HIM IF HE COMES NEAR MY BROTHER AGAIN!" My oldest son yells.

"And we'll gladly help you!" Everyone else backs him up. It's me that brings them under control.

"Virgil wouldn't want that. You all know that. It's our job to help others, not seek revenge." I say, calmly. It's enough to bring them back to their senses. And enough for Virgil's eyes to open.

Ohhhhh! What's going to happen next? Even I don't know!
