Who here agrees that you can never be too old for Ninjago? I do!

DISCLAIMER: I don't own anything except for Abel, Everest, and Eve!

Z/Abel's POV

After a brief introduction, Eve and I each climbed onto a different vehicle. As it turns out, Jay, the Master of Lightning, knew some sign language. I went with the Green Ninja, Lloyd. As soon as we were all ready, we shot off like a bullet. I gripped the seat, as falling off a moving vehicle going 70 miles an hour was not on my bucket list. Everest flew beside us, occasionally hooting to let us know she was there. There was another bird, a black falcon with piercing golden eyes. I stared after it, feeling a strange connection to it. It is as if I was reaching out for something that had been there one moment, and gone the next. I shook my head. It's probably my relationship with Everest, I thought. The falcon just seems familiar to her, that's all. Still, I felt like I was forgetting something...Maybe it's because I was. Soon, we made it to the base of a cliff. There was a staircase that wound around it. "Yeah, that's a lot of stairs," Lloyd said before beginning to climb the stairs. Eve and I took up the rear.

Are you okay? she asked.

I'm alright I signed back. This just feels familiar. Everest and the falcon circled around us. I held out my arm and the falcon landed on it, observing me with its golden eyes. I stroked it's feathers, and it nipped at my ear affectionately. Everest perched on Eve's shoulder, and she smiled.

"Huh," Lloyd said, turning around. "Falcon likes you."

Falcon? I signed with my free arm.

"Yeah, he belongs to a friend of ours, Zane," Lloyd said before his voice trailed off. The name hung in the air like a cloud. Zane...Julien? I signed.

"How did you know?" Jay cried, shocked.

Know what? I signed.

"Our friend's name," Jay explained. "His name is Zane Julien." The others gawked at me, but Eve simply glanced at me with sympathy.

It seemed right I shrugged. Everest hooted. I frowned. No, I do not know anyone named 'Zane Julien', Everest.

"Everest?" Jay translated. "You know, that same owl came over to us."

She did what? Eve signed, clearly unhappy with Everest's actions.

"A 'she'," Jay mused. "Well, we made it to the top." He pushed open the doors and went inside. There were various training equipment strewn across the ground. There was a building, and Lloyd knocked twice before an old man wearing a remarkably large hat opened the door. He ushered us inside, and told us (Ordered, as Eve would have said) to sit around the table while he made some tea. Already sitting around it was a young woman made of metal, and a woman about the old man's age. The metal woman had her hair in a high ponytail, and purple lines etched her face. The old woman's hair was braided down her back.

"Hello," the metal woman croaked. Judging by the way her shoulders slumped, the way her eyes lingered with sadness, she had been close to Zane Julien. Zane Julien...Why did this name feel so familiar? "I'm P.I.X.A.L, and this is Misako. Who are you?"

"This is Eve," Jay said, gesturing towards her. "and Abel." The old man came out and handed Eve and I a cup. I held it, letting it warm my frigid hands.

"I'm Sensei Wu. You've probably met P.I.X.A.L and Misako already," the old man said.

Where can we sleep? I signed, exhausted from earlier events. Jay beckoned us to follow him, and he showed us a room at the end of the hall.

"Good night," he whispered before walking away. I opened the door. There were two set of bunk beds on either side of the room. I took one side, Eve took the other. As I laid down and closed my eyes, I driffted off into a dreamless sleep.
