Getting what they want
Shrek's Fiona asked for a oneshot of…a read and see story.
Every little noise made the couple jump. They were currently spending their lives on their last nerve. They had no idea what Ursula and Cruella were up to, but whatever it was, wouldn't be good for them. All Snow and Charming really knew was, if they hurt Emma, there would be Hell to pay. So the royals were understandably tense when the pair showed up at their house one evening. Charming was the one to answer the door to them, with Snow standing by his side.
"What do you want?" Charming asked them gruffly.
"Lovely." Ursula said sarcastically. "With us here to make peace, as well." Charming snorted.
"Don't insult our intelligence."
"Was there any there to begin with, darling?" Cruella quipped. Ursula nudged her side.
"We're serious. If we're going to make a fresh start in this town, we need to be able to go to local tavern without someone always watching us. We're not stupid, either. We know you're keeping an eye." Ursula pointed out. "May we come in?" Charming looked to Snow, who jerked her head back, signifying that they would be allowed entrance. Charming allowed them past. Snow and Charming followed closely behind them as they walked into the living room.
"Lovely place you have here." Cruella said insincerely. "Could do with more fur…"
"What do you really want?" Snow interrupted her. "Cut to the chase, ladies. We haven't got all night." Cruella and Ursula sighed.
"We had set aside a good couple of hours to hear more of your soppy story and see darling pictures of your little mongrels." Cruella droned. Snow's nostrils flared and Charming growled. Nobody insulted their children. Their reaction made Cruella smirk. "No? Very well. If you insist." Before either of the royals could stop her, Cruella pulled something out of her pocket and blew it in both their faces. Both of their worlds went black, and they crumpled to the floor. When they were asleep, Cruella also pulled a knife out of her pocket.
"Quickly, we don't know how long they'll be out." Ursula demanded. Cruella simply rolled her eyes.
"Relax, darling. That powder is strong. They'll be out until tomorrow morning at least. By then someone will have found them, popped plasters on them and tucked them up in bed." She said as she cut Snow with the knife and then Charming. "Come on, we have work to do."
It had been Emma who found her parents lying on the floor, bleeding. There had been no signs of an intrusion, and Neal was still safely in his crib when she arrived. The blood had mostly dried up, so it had obviously been a few hours since the attack. There were no clues, but Emma of course had a good idea who was behind it. Until she woke her parents up though, she had no proof. She tried to wake them herself, unsuccessfully, before calling Regina and Blue. Neither of them could wake them either. It was Blue who spotted some of the powder on the floor. She quickly analysed it and told Emma her parents should be awake by the morning. It was just a waiting game.
Snow and Charming woke up around ten the following morning. Emma came in when she heard them waking. Neither parent had ever been so relieved to see her.
"Are you ok?" Snow asked her, cupping her face. Emma nodded.
"You get attacked and you're worried about me?" She asked them. "I'm fine, so is Neal. What happened here? I mean, I have my suspicions, but I had to hear it from you first."
"Your suspicions are probably correct." Charming sighed. "Ursula and Cruella came here last night. They gave us some garbage about wanting a fresh start before blowing sleeping powder in our faces. We don't know anything else after that." Charming told her honestly.
"She obviously did a number on both your hands." Emma pointed out. Charming and Snow looked at their bandaged up hands. "I wonder why they bothered doing that." Snow and Charming looked at each other.
"We don't know." Charming said. That wasn't strictly true, they did have a fairly good idea what it would be to do with. "But whatever it is, it won't be good."
