Ana P.O.V

A month. It's been an entire month without Christian, and it's not been easy. I still kind of miss him. Having to see him everyday, acting like I'm just his student. Watching Cordelia and the rest of them still trying to... shall we say, get his attention? We haven't even spoken, apart from a student answering her teachers questions.

I turned 18 though. A few weeks ago. Not that I could celebrate much while still being grounded for that whole drunken mess that was Kate and I. So, tonight we party. Well, as much as we can, still being underage and all. Kate was coming over to mine, and Mom and Bob agreed to make them self scarce. They gave us permission to drink a little as long as Ethan was there. They deemed him the sensible adult, even though he wasn't much older and not legal himself.

We were sitting in Christians class. Quietly scribbling notes as he spoke. "Still on for tonight yeah?" Kate leaned over towards me, whispering in my ear. I nodded in her direction, trying to focus on his words. Moments like this are the only times I can openly stare at him without causing any sort of suspicion. I was just a student after all, hooked on her teachers words. Passionate about his lecture.

"Excited? Ethan said he will meet us at yours around 9. Something about an errand to run first."

"Yeah that's fine." I disregarded.

"Ana, a little excitement would be appreciated here." She laughed lowly.

"Kate, I'm trying to concentrate here." I momentarily looked away from my notes to glare at her. "Please. We can talk after class..."

"Ladies, am I interrupting you?" His voice cut through me. Sending shivers all over my body. Why does he still have such an effect on me? "Do my teachings bore you that much? Perhaps you should have taken a different class?"

"We were just... discussing notes. 100% class related." I lied.

"I'm sure." He said, clearly not convinced. "No more talking please."

"Yes, Sir." He stopped mid turn... turning back to look at me. Straight into my eyes in fact. I stared back, almost like a staring contest I refused to be the first to look away. I knew what calling him Sir would do. Coming from me, knowing about his... chosen lifestyle, he wouldn't be able to ignore me.

"Lose the attitude, Miss. Steele."

"There is no attitude, Sir." What was I doing? Shut up!

His eyes cut through me, suddenly my choice seemed to turn on me. Why did I start this exactly? I could see his jaw clenching... his fist tensing. "Enough, Miss. Steele. Or you can go see the principle." He warned.

I rolled my eyes. "I'm not doing anything, Sir." My heart was about to burst through my chest. This was the most interaction we have had since he broke things off. I just needed something from him. Anything. I can't handle him completely ignoring me. We can't be together, I get it. It doesn't mean he has to completely cut me out though.

"Get out. Now. Principle." He turned to his desk, tearing of a slip of paper and writing on it. I turned to look at Kate. She looked equally surprised. I got up and made my way down to the front. A chorus of 'ohs' rang through the class. "Enough!" He barked to the class. "Take this to the Principle." He added sternly, handing me the paper.

"You got it, Sir." I took the paper and walked out. Not looking behind me.

My heart, now officially about to implode, was hammering in my chest. I rushed to the lockers and turned to lean against it. Grabbing my chest, I closed my eyes and tilted my head upwards.

"What the hell, Steele?" I muttered to myself. What was I doing? There are better ways to get his attention. That wasn't it. I took a moment to allow my heart to calm down, before pushing myself of the locker and making my way to the principles office.

Knocking on the door, he called me in. "Miss. Steele. This is a surprise."

I sat down in front of him. "Unjustified I think Mr. Williams. Mr. Grey thinks I was being rude. I think he just misunderstood." I honestly didn't think I was being rude. I think I just... riled him up.

"Ah ok. I'll have that." I handed him the slip and he read through it. "Hmm. Ok then. Eye rolling. Talking back. This isn't like you Ana."

I nodded in agreement. "Misunderstanding."

"Well, lets get Mr. Grey down here then shall we." He pressed a button on his phone, calling his assistant. "Mr. Grey please Maddie."

"Wait what? Why?" I suddenly felt nervous.

"We need to clarify it. I don't want to deal a punishment if it isn't necessary. Excuse me a moment." And he left. Damn it. Now I have to be right beside him. Close to him.

Not 5 minute later, there was a knock on the door. I didn't move. "Mr. Williams?" He questioned.

"He said he'll be back." I muttered. The door closed softly behind me. I didn't hear footsteps, but I was suddenly very aware of him behind me. I could smell his cologne. Hear his heart, while mine sped up again.

"What was that all about?" He asked quietly. I gently shruggged my response. "After all we went through, after what I showed you. Knowing how I feel about you. And you pull that crap?"

I could sense he was getting worked up again. "Christian, you've barely spoke two words to me directly since you broke it off." I turned in my seat to look at him. He was standing with his feet apart and his arms crossed. Damn. He looks... he was wearing a crisp white shirt, the top few buttons open. Just enough to see the start of his chest hair. Black dress trousers. Always so formal. "I just wanted your attention. Just a little bit of it, I thought you owed me that much." I looked away.

He sighed. Moving slowly to sit in the seat beside mine, he turned it to angle it towards me. Leaning forward, he rest his arms on his legs, clasping his hands together. "I thought a clean break... as clean as it could be anyway, was the best choice for you. We were never friends, Ana. As far as anyone need be concerned, we are student and teacher. I've been treating you the same as everyone else in that classroom. To pull that crap... that wasn't fair on either of us."

"I'm sorry ok, I didn't really think it was that bad. I just knew it would make you focus on me a bit. I miss you..." why was I doing this to myself? To him?

He looked down, sighing lowly. He gently placed a hand on mine. "I miss you to, I really do. But we can't go back there."

"I'm 18 now..." I pleaded.

"I'm still your teacher though..."

The door opened. We jolted apart. Shit. "Ah, Mr. Grey. So..."

"I'm sorry for wasting your time Mr. Williams. Ana and I had a quick chat, I think I over reacted to her. Misunderstood what she was saying."

"Oh, well. I guess that sorts it." He sat down in front of us. "Try to take more care in your choice of words from now on, yes Miss. Steele?" I nodded quietly, not giving anyone any time to say anything else, I jumped up and left without looking back.

Just as I closed the door behind me, the bell to signal the end of the day rang. I've got to stop putting myself in these situations.

I made my way to my car... yes I finally got Wanda back. Kate was standing there, looking very expectant. "Ana! What happened?"

"Nothing, it's fine. Christian said he misunderstood." I unlocked the VW and climbed in, Kate right behind me.

"Weird. What was that anyway?"

"I just... wanted a reaction I guess. Let's just forget it please. It's celebration time anyway." A grin spread over her face, and I pulled out of the parking lot.

I walked through my front door, throwing my keys on my table and my jacket on the coat rack. I went trough to the sitting room, pouring myself a glass of bourbon. Jesus, that was tough today.

I threw myself into my seat, taking a drink. The slight burn felt good. God I miss her... I really want her back, but I can't. It's not fair on her. She's too young, and I'm fifty shades of fucked up. If she only knew...

A knock at my door drew me away from my thoughts. Who? I got up unwillingly, taking my drink with me I approached the door before another knock came. "Alright, hold on." I barked. Opening it up, I did not expect this. "Elena?" I asked surprised.

"Christian, darling. Hello." She smiled. I stood a bit shocked. I haven't seen her for a while, and she has never made house calls unannounced before. "Well, are you going to invite me in or shall I just stand here?"

"Yes, off course sorry." I stood to the side, allowing her space to walk past me. She made her way directly to the kitchen. I followed behind her as she settled at the island. "To what do I owe this pleasure?" I asked.

"Well, I haven't heard from you. So I thought I would check up." She smiled. Elena was wearing a smooth black dress that stopped at her knees, small black heels and her hair up in a bun. "Are you going to offer me one of those?" She gestured to the drink in my hand.

"Off course." I walked away and came back shortly with her bourbon on the rocks. "You look good."

"Thank you. As do you. As usual." She smiled. "Listen, I'll cut to the point. I have a girl. She wants to be trained but she's after a male Dom. She doesn't a female. Off course I think of you."

"Listen, Elena. I'm not really doing that at the moment. I'm fine being by myslef." Truth was I didn't want anyone else...

"Since when? You can't be by yourself Christian. This is who you are, you can't take a break from that." She laughed, as though it was the most ridiculous thing she had ever heard of. "Look, you're not stupid. You know how many people want to be trained by you in our community. I don't bring you just anyone. This girl really shows promise, but at the same time she needs a firm hand."

"Not this time." I said sternly. Walking around the island to stand opposite her. "I had a thing with someone, I don't want to start another relationship, of any kind, right now." I admitted.

"A thing? A Dom thing?" I shook my head no. Elena doesn't really see the point in a 'vanilla' relationship. Especially when it comes to me. "Christian, dear, don't be ridiculous. You don't do plain vanilla. This could be exactly what you need to get back into it. To forgot that silly girl." She waved it off with her hand. Taking a sip.

I sighed. Maybe she's right. Me and Ana are over. I know we can't continue what we had. What else am I meant to do? Forget who I am? Become a vanilla man? "Maybe you're right." I mummered lowly. "Listen, send her over. I won't make promises though. I'll turn her away at the door if I decide to."

"Off course." She nodded, smiling with victory. This should be interesting.

"...and she fell on her face!" Kate laughed. It was nearly midnight, and Kate was definitely tipsy, although for was was pacing herself. Jose was asleep on my bed... just couldn't handle it I guess.

I reached for another beer. "You're cruel." I laughed along with her. "I can't believe you tripped her! What did she ever do to you?"

"Seriously? She was such an evil cow!" She hiccuped. We were talking about a girl called Louise. A bully when we were young. She gave Kate and I a hard time. "Did you forget about when she pulled your skirt down in front of that boy you liked? Chris something?"

"Yeah yeah. Chris Weatherbee!" I burst out laughing.

"Ok I need to pee now..." Kate got up... not quite steadily, and made her way out of the room.

"Hey, now that I have you alone. I have something for you." Ethan pulled out a rectangular black box.

"Ethan! You didn't have to get me anything!" I smiled pushing his shoulder gently.

"Off course I did. You only turn 18 once!" He smiled lightly.

I took the box from his hand, and opened it slowly. Oh my... "Ethan, it's beautiful." I stood staring at the little box he handed me. Which had a beautiful necklace in it. "Thank you."

He reached forward and took his out. "May I?" I nodded yes, turning around and lifting my hair out of the way. He reached around my neck, his hand lightly grazing my shoulder, sending shivers down my spine. He secured the clasp, resting his hands in my shoulder. "There." He whispered.

I slowly turned around. "Thank you." I smiled. He lifted his hand up to my cheek. "Ethan... I don't know if we should do this..."

He smiled gently. His hand moving farther around to the back of my neck. Slowly pulling me towards him. I titled my head towards him, his lips gently touched mine. His other hand on my thigh. The kiss grew in intensity, his hand firmer on my neck.

"Woah... they always say once you start peeing you won't stop!" Kate walked back through the door. We pulled apart quickly. "What did I just walk in on...?
