A new land

Tina asked for a oneshot of…a read and see story.

"Where are we?" Emma asked as her dad helped her to her feet.

"I don't know." Charming said, frowning as he looked around. "It's certainly not Storybrooke, or the Enchanted Forest." He told her. Charming didn't know what it was about this place, but it made him feel immensely uneasy.

"Well, that's the first thing we need to find out. Then, how we get home." Emma pointed out. "I'll head off into the garden to try and find someone, you head towards the house." Emma went to go off in her direction when her dad took hold of her arm.

"Are you sure that's a good idea?" He asked her. "We're in a completely unknown land, Emma. I'm not sure how I feel about letting you go off on your own." Charming didn't want Emma to know how uneasy he was feeling in this land, but he couldn't have her going off alone. What if something happened to her? Emma gave her dad a reassuring smile.

"I'll be fine." She promised him. She raised her hand and some small sparks flew out of her fingertips. "I still have my magic here. I can defend myself. You sure you'll be ok?" She teased him. Charming gave her a look.

"I can look after myself, thank you. Let's meet back here in half an hour." Charming felt that was more than long enough for her to be away from him. Emma nodded, going off to try and find some answers.

Emma came back to the agreed meeting place having found nobody to help them. She was surprised to see that her dad wasn't there to meet her. She began to feel on edge. There was no way her dad would have lost track of time. So Emma took matters into her own hands and began heading off in the direction her dad had took off in to try and find him. She eventually saw him in the grounds of the house, talking with a nervous looking man. Emma thought it might be best not to spook him right now, so stayed hidden behind a tall hedge. She was still close enough that she could hear their conversation.

"Please, I know you're scared, but I'm not going to hurt you." Emma heard her dad pleading with the man. "I'm not from this land. Me and my daughter got pulled in here by a portal. We just want to get home to the rest of our family. Please, there must be something you can do to help us, even if you just tell me who I need to talk to." Emma saw the nervous man shake his head.

"I'm sorry. I can't help a stranger. I'd get into bother. Please, you have to go before someone sees you." The man seemed unhinged.

"Please, calm down. I'm not going to hurt anyone. Why would you get into trouble for talking to me?-"

The next them either Emma or Charming knew, Charming was on the ground after yelling out in agony, the end of a Taser in his back. The other man shrunk back, clearly petrified.

"Tut tut, Doctor. Mr Hyde will be wanting to talk to both you and your new friend now. Come along." The man ordered this Doctor whilst hoisting Charming's unconscious body over his shoulder. When his back was turned, Emma came out of her hiding place and froze the doctor and the other man to the spot. She used her magic to bring her dad to her and to wake him up.

"I don't have time to explain." She told her clearly dazed dad. She took him by the wrist. "We have to run, now." Emma took off, with Charming stumbling behind her. They'd clearly found the wrong people for help.
