Chapter 4: The New Threat.
Moments after Yusuke's parents walked into the theater, Kuwabara and Kurama exited the theater, neither party seeing each other. "That was the worse ending I have ever seen!" Kuwabara yelled out. "How the hell was that ending even allowed to be shown?" Asking Kurama. "Come on, you didn't really think he was going to live in the end?" Kurama countered. "He dies in real life, yet it was more graphic and brutal then what they did in the movie." Kurama pointed out. "I know, but even without him I still don't know how the hell they were able to free a country like that." Kuwabara continued his rant. "I must admit that part is a little unbelievable, but despite some issues on the historical inaccuracies they had, I do think it was a way to introduce people like us to a country that we don't really know about." Kurama added. "I just don't get the whole kilt thing." Kuwabara still criticizing the movie. "Not as different as Samurai wearing kimonos." Kurama countering Kuwabara's statement. "I guess you're right." Kuwabara accepting the results of the movie. "What do you want to do now?" Kuwabara asked. "Lets go to the park, I need to relax after a day of work." Kurama suggested. "I'm cool with that because I need to think on what to do about Urameshi's party." Kuwabara agreed.
Both men walked to the park and sat on a bench, seeing other people pack up and ready to leave. "It's strange that many times I was here it was always with or had something to do with Urameshi." Kuwabara pointed out the times that happened. "It doesn't even feel like three years have passed since then." "And ever since he is no longer a spirit detective, things feel better now since both humans and demons agreed to be nice with each other." "You are not wrong." Kurama agreeing with Kuwabara. "Ever since that center opened, humans and demons are able to co-exist but not many demons want to enter the human world." Kurama changing the subject. "I heard you work their part time; is it difficult as people say it is?" Kuwabara asked. "It's actually the same as the DMV." Kurama answered. "Damn, that bad?" Kuwabara shocked how bad it is, and Kurama just nodded. "Sorry I asked." Kuwabara said, feeling bad for Kurama.
A few minutes go by and everyone except for the two remained in the park. "So, what do you have plan for Yusuke's last day being a free man?" Kurama asked. "To be honest I don't know but I have a feeling my sister is planning one for Keiko." Kuwabara answered. "I just know she is going to try to convince my sweet Yukina to go to a male strip club." Kuwabara not happy with this. "I don't want her finding another man more attractive than me." Kurama laughed hearing this. "You know damn well that that isn't going to happen." "All right, maybe I'm just jealous that women tend to do that when they want to give their friend one last moment of freedom." Kuwabara making a point. "Then why don't you do the same thing for Yusuke with female strippers?" Kurama asked. Kuwabara thought about this and imagined what Yukina would do to him. He visualizes Yukina hitting him in the head with a baseball bat. "Ahh!" He screamed. Kurama realized that this would be a problem for Kuwabara, had a different idea. "Why don't I do it instead so that you don't feel guilty?" "Really, oh thank you!" Kuwabarra thanked Kurama. "Consider it a battle to make who is better at giving each person's last night of freedom better." Kurama enjoying this idea. "I hope you and Shizuru don't make it personal." Kuwabara worried that this could end badly. "I wouldn't put it past her for doing something like that." Said Kurama. Kuwabara noticed the tone in Kurama's voice when he said that. "Hey, I'm sorry that things didn't work out between you two." Kuwabara apologized. "It wasn't your fault; we just didn't see eye to eye." Kurama explained.
Kuwabara looked at the park clock and it almost six p.m. "I need to go meet Yukina to pick up Eikitchi from the pet hospital. You gonna be okay here in the park?" He asked Kurama. "I'll be fine, I need to relax before I head home to change and go to the center." Kurama explained. "All right, remember we need to see Urameshi at his ramen shop to see what roles he has for us." Kuwabara reminded the fox demon. "I will be there at lunch time." Kurama promised, and Kuwabarra left him alone in the park.
As Kuwabara left, Kurama sensed a presence. "Is it true what happened at the peace center today?" He asked the person that was there. "Yes, and I was wondering why you took so long to begin investigating it." The female voice said and descended from the sky. "Ayame, you know well that if Koenma wants my services, it must be agreed upon that it can only be part time and that Yusuke remains away from it since he is focusing on getting married." Koenma informed the other grim reaper. "He is worried that they will go after Yusuke since a message was left for him." Ayame informed Kurama. "Is the message still there?" The Fox Demon asked. "Yes, but they want you to hurry because they don't want the smell of dead stinking up the building anymore." Ayame warning him. "He agreed to keep Yusuke off as long as you go." She added to the warning. Kurama didn't respond. "You still don't trust me after I tried to get Yusuke killed?" She asked seeing The Fox Demon not happy to see her. "I get that you were following orders, but last I checked King Yama is no longer in charged of the Spirit World after Koenma found out about his disgusting act he did to those demons and let me remind you that I had to put them out of their misery." Kurama reminding Ayame that King Yama brainwashed Demons to keep the tension between humans and demons high. "I wasn't aware what Yama did, and I only did it because we all felt Yusuke was going to get his revenge on us." Ayame pleaded her case. "So, are you going to do it or are we going to keep arguing while there is a murderous psychopath on the lose?" She asked. Kurama stood up, and gave her an answer. "This is not me acting as a Spirit Detective, but as a concerned half demon that only wants to make sure this wasn't what it was." He reluctantly agreed. Ayame prepares to leave, but looks at the Fox Demon. "Just so you know, I'm glad Yama is gone. He got my friends killed." Ayame said and flew off on the wooden broom.
Kurama got up and began to head to the Peace Center, only to stop to see a silver robed figure across from him, but Kurama knew this wasn't a friendly person. "I'm guessing you are the one responsible for the 12 deaths?" Kurama asked. The silver figure began to slowly clap. "Very good part time detective." The robed figure said sarcastically. "What do you want?" Kurama asked. "The only way to find out, you have to kill me first." The robed figure said. Without question, Kurama pulled out his rose whip. "I'm okay with that." Kurama agreed and both fighters stared at each other to make the first move.
A/N: I don't know what happened how this chapter got mixed up with the other chapter I had. This is the right chapter, I have no idea how one of the sonic chapters got mixed in with this.
