DP ~ Unlikly Events

Prelude

~The Begining of the Story

*Eyes of Reality

Tan and Kin are twins who had a rough life, their fahter being agressive in his actions and words from his time in the milatary towards them was hard to describe. Though Kin had shown much resentment behind his back, Tan tried to remain neutral since they where living under his roof trying to keep her close sister calm. When the chance came for a study group to have a feild trip Tan jumped for the chance so it could give them time away form their father.

The sky was clouded with dark grey but since it was not forcasted to rain the feild trip went through. Protective gear was given to each who attend before getting on the bus. Kin had seated herself as close to the front door as possible and easy acess to the walk way next to Tan who took the window seat. When the bus powered into motion Tan took a sigh of relif. Her nerves had been makeing her hands shake but she had kept it to herself nearly afriad that their father would some how show up and avoid them this chance to get away from him. He however never showed in which she was greatful for. She watched the sceanic of the area pass by as the buss headed to its destination. She had nearly became transfixed in her thoughts when the bus had pulled to a stop at the feild in which the group was to explore.

Kin was first off the bus and Tan followed behind. As the other people gathered Kin drew nearer to Tan. Her anxiouty around large groups was apperant to her and Tan knew they both suffered from the disability but Kin more so. Keeping to the edge of the crowed was the easiest way to handle it while listening intently to the intructor. "Now eveyone will do this in paires, you have your gear and the outfits you recived before will protect you from any small amounts of electricity if there is any. " the instructor scaned over the group " Your reader will tell you if you do come across any electrical currents please ensure you take notes. If anyone does come across any down power lines you are to keep a safe distance from them and let me know as soon as possible. "

After the instructions had been given the group disspersed into the groups of two. Tan breathed through her teeth with an exhale. " Kin can you handle the reader?" she asked."Yeah... sure." her sis replied uncertainty in her voice, but took the reader anyway. Tan lead the way knowing it was common for Kin to follow her. They went futher into the feild which sloped down all the while making sure that they were away enough from the other groups. The macheine had began to slowly beep at them indicating that there was a electric current near by.

"Looks like some sort of electrial current is makeing this thing go off." From the high part of the slant Tan scaned for any wires or such making sure the area ahead was clear to continue on. Feeling alittle excited that they may of found somthing Kin begain to lead the way. "It's showing to go down, Lets be careful." Carefuly placing her feet Tan fowllowed Kin. They slowyly went down the slant regardless if it was small it still could hurt if they triped. Being lead by the device Kin moved over a shallow stream and across to the other side where a medow with ankle high grass and white flowers seemed to sway gently. The Beeping got faster as the mech showed the way to where the current possibly was at. Kin only stoped when the beeps sounded almost flatlining. They both glanced around only small green specks floated around in a part of the feild that seemed level. Kin turned it off as they would now continued with a run of the notes and hypothisis. small sparks seemed to danced about ahead, but Tan took them as fire flies since there could be no other thing that could give off a light they did, how ever the color was a bit unusual like a lime green.

"The reading shows this might be a energy 'Hot spot'." Kins voice cut through Tans thoughts. Tan shook her head. Knowing the reality of how things usually happens. "Come on Kin... We're never that luckly." Kins faced droped knowing all to well that what she said rang true. Regardless of how hard they tryed thing never came in their favor. It was always someone else who got the break even to those how didn't deserve the good fortune. Tan continued "Nothing Important EVER happens to us. Unless we are hurt in the process..."

*Ghost-Zone

Tan had black out after the green light spewed from the ground. She had no idea of how long she and her twin were out. One thing was for certain they had some how survived. It took her a moment to notice but once they awoken they came to find themselves diffrent than from before. Diffrent as in they appeared no longer as they did in the real world but more so like illistrations or cartoon charaters,(like 'the pagemaster' but with a twist) they could feel the pain and tiredness wash away replace with great surprize. As it truned out they had not just changed apperance in how they saw the world, they also were back to the pre-teen stage of their lives. Taking alook around Tan relized that they were floating in a place which resembled space but instead of vast cold, stars and planets it was neutral in temp, swirls of lime green blanketed the blakness a realm with odd rules that didn't apply like the world they has previously been in.

Here and there with ocasinal weird blobs of green slime hovering, Others parts seemed like a laberith of objects like bulding parts, water effects... minus the bubbles unless you count glowing green slime that dripped upward. The only kind of ground there was were peices of actual ground like floating islands but bare and doors of any design streched across the space like scattered toys. It wasn't till Kin looked over Tans sholder and directed her to look, then she relized that there was a castle resting on one of the islands. It was soft green and had massive gears decorating the exterior of the building. They rotated as if they inside a clock keeping the mesurement of time.

"What do you think... should we take a look." Kin asked her twin with a bit of curosity in her voice. Tan was about to say somthing when a giant green glob behind Kin opened its gloop of a mouth. "I don't think we have much of a choice." she said quickly grabbing her sisters arm and dragging her out of the creaures reach before its mouth snapped shut. Not about to argue Kin knew when somthing scared her sister like that it was always best to follow her lead without a word and quickly.

They both made a mad dashed towards the gear castle/tower. Landing on the floor hard with a loud thud. Kin managed to a glance over her shoulder to see the.. the... well she didn't know what to call it. What ever it was it had stopped a few feet short from the entrance and now was backing away before quickly flying off as if scared. Looking at Tan as if some sort of conversation was about to start but it never happened. Tan instead was watching what one would depict a ghost hovering in the room before them. The blue tone spector wore a purple robe and hooded cape, he held a staff with a winding clock on top of it. Speaking of clocks his torso had a grandfather clock look to it.(The part that had glass showing the interior of the clock. With a clock face and the hands position near the top.) A jagged scar was on the left side of his face near the left outer part of the eye. His full red glowing eyes watched them.

There a was dead silence that clunge to the air like a thick smell of smoke. Even though it lasted only half a minute, it felt like an eternity. Seeing the girls not makeing any attempt on speaking the spector spoke."I hadn't espected guests. This is certianly a new twist of events." His form shifted to what resimbled him as a child. Tan couldn't help but feel somehow he was reviwing the past. He stayed like that for a few moments before shifting form again but this time to a elder version of himself. Again she got that feeling that he was seeing somthing but this time in the future. A gentle smile crossed his face. "Its alright children, you have nothing to fear." Kin let out a breath that she was holding. Tan was also surprized that she had been holding her breath. Usually people gave bad impressions the first time around. Causing quite abite of uneasieness and reactions of caution. For some reason deep down in their core they felt that they could trust him and trust was usually never given that easly.

Shifting to his middle age form he said "Follow me children." Kin and Tan did as the ghost directed. They were lead up one flight where a massive room lay before them. Several coat racks hung on the wall displaying multiple madalionds that resembled a gear. A portal like display swirled with color and the room seemed to have high vauled ceilings that cloaked with shadow, making it hard to see the top if there was any. The changing form ghost stopped in the center of this room and turned to look at the twins as if sensing questions lingering on their minds. "Who..who are you?" Tan stuttered feeling like this was the time to ask. "I am Clockwork, the Master of Time." The ghost introduced, "I am in charge of making sure time flows smoothly in the Human realm, the Ghost-Zone and other realms connected to it." Kin blinked, "Does that include the realm we came from." Feeling abit stupid, the question seemed to come on it's own, still she couldn't help but ask. "No," Clockwork stated,"That realm applies to diffrent laws of nature, a force in which i am not familurized with prevets me from interacting with it." Clockwork look to the display where the swirl had died and only the scattered black and white sizzled on like a tv screen that had lost connection with a channle, he shifed to his older form. "Do to this I did not fore see your coming to the Ghost-Zone, the portal that which brought you was a rare occurance and it will be over two thousand years before another could manifest." He looked to Tan and Kin again, "Do you want to return?" "NO!" Tan and Kin both stated in unison, not even pausing to think on the matter.

Clockwork was tooken aback with suprise, yet it did not linger on his face. "Normally I could see who you are and your past events," Clockwork paused shifting form to child, " However since you did come from that other realm, may I ask your names?" With uncrertainty the twins looked at each other. "Must we?" Kin asked with dread. Again shifting form to his elder state Clockwork said, " I simply hope by you reviling your names that I could see atleast a glipms of your realm, but if you prefere not then atleast a name in which you can be called." He said reasuringly. "Does it matter?" Tan asked." No, your name will not determine your future here, and it is up to you what you are called." he pause but breifly." I am the Master of Time not the Master of Names." Looking at her hand Kin stated. "Before we looked like this we called each other by a nickname." Glancing over to her close sibling She continued "She called me Kin and I called her Tan." As it seemed to the twins Clockwork was satisfied with the previous nicknames. "Is that what I should call your ghost forms aswell?" he asked. "What?" Tan and Kin echoed each other. Kin continued on "Did we die?"

Lightly chuckling Clockwork replied in his middle form "You are far from it. The concept of ghosts for humans in diffrent dimentions very. Ghost for us is a Being that are able to go intangible, invisable and fly. We are made of charged ecto, a core of what enables us to exist and a element. We range from undescribable forms to forms that humans can relate to. Ghosts are not the dead but there are souls that had managed to wander into the Ghost-Zone, become one of the inhabitance and some are actuly born having no connection to the other realms. We can exist over long time periods but we are capable of dying, but not by the hands of time." Tan swallowed before asking. "So what does that still make us twins?" Clockwork thought for a moment before answering." You are both halfas. Humans who gaing a Ghost form. Have two forms you can shift between and have our powers. Halfas can only be created under certain cercomestances and not every human can become a halfa." Courious Kin asked,"Why is that?" "The straine of going through those cercomstances could normaly kill a human. Yet somthing enables few to become such, they are a rarity in the Ghost-Zone and in any realm they do dwell."

"So," Tan said thinking outloud," If I still don't want to be called by my name, I'll just play off my nickname...mmm Tan...Tan..ah?" Kin lightly snikered,"Tanna? Sis you always like playing around with your nicknames." Tan beamed, I guess you helped, so now on in this ghost form I'm Tanna, Tannna Banshie." "Where did Bannshee come from? "Kin asked. "You know the old english term for a female ghost but im planning it to be spelled B-A-N-S-H-I-E." Tanna comfermed to her sister. Kin held back a laugh."Well then I just go with Dione." Tanna asked," Isn't that..." Stratight forward Kin said with a vertical cut with her hand silencing Tanna, "Dione." Clockwork in his elder form watched the two sisters chatting, a smile creeping across his lips.

"What do we do now? Just float around chatting like gosipping school girls?" Dione started to wonder. Tanna replied, "At current there is nothing much we can do." Consdering a thought the newly named ghost form Dione tried to make sence of how in their realm would a 'ghost' portal would appear up. "Back to the portal... the fact it just showed up as we did dosen't really make sence." Pausing she quickly lined her thoughts. "Could it be that eletrical charge in the area had somthing to do with it. Even then what would trigger it to show up?" "Ghost poratls deposites energy into the Ghost-Zone charging ecto that enables either new ghosts to form or a power source that ghosts flock to inorder to become stronger." Clockwork stated. "That means..." Tanna pondered "there must of been enough energy in the feild, and us coming upon it gave the nessisary energy to have the portal to spawn. Dione you know we are energy givers*. It must be the reason." Scratching her head Dione pointed out. "Then why don't we feel drain by now?" "Your ghost forms are storing that energy that you naturaly give off in your human forms. Ghost don't tend to waste energy." Clockwork informed them. "There is one other thing that needs to be mentioned." "Which is?" Tanna asked. he simply awnsered,"You both will need an anchor." Dione inquired," So, do we need to find a ships ancor and tie ourselves to it?" "What I mean," Clockwork clairified,"there is a pull that is affecting the both of you. The further away you get from the place in the Ghost-Zone that you had appeared at, the stronger a force will try to pull you back. Though the portal has closed a remnance of that force from you realm will allways reamain there. Finding an anchor or another being to help ancor you to either the Ghost zone or the closest human realm, else you will be force to remain for the better or ill with in my realm."

*(Authors Note: There a in the world are three classes of humans; energy givers, energy vampires and nuteral energy. Energy vampires takes energy that people have, making them{the energy vampires} feel like they have a boost of energy like they had an energy dink. Nuteral energy people don't take or give energy. Energy givers gives energy to other people around them, they are like a battery, but giving too much can make them tired. Now days it is rare to come across a energy giver.)
