Hello All! Yes! I have had this fic in the works for what feels like forever, and I'm quite happy with how it has come along. Big thanks to, DXGRAYXMAN and ThegoodErudite for your comments and kind words. This fic did end up a bit, a tad... it's way longer than I had originally planned, but since I was determined not to scrap anything I decided to do a total of 3 chapters. This fic will also be going back and forth between EJ and Michel's POV throughout all the chapters. As always I own nothing but my own bizarre imagination, and maybe way more coffee than a human probably should. Thank you all for reading, and I hope you enjoy.- Liona
Michel's POV:
I looked threw my phone and double checked that everything I had planned was all set, well it's more like the 10th time I've checked. I've been stressing out a bit more than I'd like to admit over the trip EJ and I are taking for our anniversary, mostly because of what I plan on doing during the trip, but I guess proposing to your mate wouldn't mean much if you didn't stress about it a little.
EJ and I had decided we wanted small get away with just the 2 of us. Since its February, and we have to worry about school now, we're going to be spending the weekend at a resort that's only a few hours away. We plan on leaving early tomorrow, Saturday, and we'll be back Sunday evening. Bella and Edward helped me pick out the perfect place to take EJ tomorrow evening, and I hope it will all go perfectly.
I walked out of the garage and back inside the house. I could hear the Cullen's all doing their own thing around the house, and I quickly noticed 2 heart beats, EJ and Renesmee. Both twins were in their rooms, and while everyone else was distracted I decided to have 1 last chat with Edward and Bella before tomorrow.
It wasn't hard to find the 2 vampires, the sound of a grand piano playing was evident threw out the house. I walked into the living room where the 2 were seated, they both looked up and smiled at me while the music ceased.
"You know you don't have to be so nervous, right?" Edward spoke quietly and had on a smirk that he and EJ shared. I had told EJ I didn't mind him having his shield down for a while, of course I didn't tell him the reason being was it was easier to seek Edward's help without having to worry about talking out loud or texting.
"Just being cautious." I defended. I walked towards them and sat down on the couch near the piano.
"It's going to be fine. You planned an amazing trip, and I'm sure he's going to love every second." Bella leaned against her husband with an almost glowing expressions.
"I couldn't have done it alone." I will forever be grateful to both of them for all their help and advice.
"We were more then happy to assist." Edward put an arm around Bella and the 2 seemed very happy in this moment.
"Well, thank you very much again." I gave them both a quick smile before I stood back up, "I'm going to go upstairs and get packed before EJ starts doing it for me."
"Too late, EJ went up to start a few minutes ago." Bella said sweetly.
I felt my heart skip.
"Michel." Edward said my name like a stern father would, and I knew exactly why from what I was thinking, I still have the engagement ring I bought hidden in one of our suitcases. "Michel, I thought you were going to hide it somewhere else?"
I didn't waste time responding, and ran up to mine and EJ's room. I didn't even think as I swung the bedroom door open and saw EJ almost jump from the sudden action.
"Michel, are you trying to give me a heart attack?" EJ chastised.
I noticed EJ had a suitcase on the bed, and felt a weight lift from my chest as I realized it wasn't the bag I had put the engagement ring in.
"S-sorry Love, wasn't thinking." I walked over to my mate and gave him a quick kiss as an apology.
"It's alright. You wanna give me a hand with all this?" EJ gestured to the small pile of folded clothes I recognized as mine on the edge of the bed.
"Absolutely, I appreciate you helping me out." I walked over to the clothes and looked threw what EJ had picked out.
"It's no problem. I finished mine after we got back from school. "
"You're always on point."
"One of us has to be." EJ smirked and walked into the bathroom to grab a few essentials.
I started going threw the drawer where EJ and I kept a few spare phone chargers and what not. I glanced over to the closet and sighed again as I noticed the bag I was worrying over hadn't moved an inch since I placed it atop the shelf. After EJ and I get everything packed I'll grab the ring when EJ's out of the room, but where should I hide it while we're driving? Would it be wise just to put it in my suitcase, or maybe my coat pocket? I really should have been more carful.
"Babe?"
I turned to EJ, "Yes?"
"You sure you're ok? You kind of zoned out there, and I don't think we need to bring that many chargers."
I looked down, I had managed to tangle several different chargers together while I was 'zoned out' as EJ put it.
"Sorry." I put the mound of chargers back in the drawer and closed it.
"Don't apologize, it's no big deal." EJ put a few things into the suitcase along with my clothes. "How about I go make some tea? You look kind of tired."
"Sounds perfect, thank you."
EJ gave me a small smile before leaving the room. Once I was sure EJ was downstairs I quickly grabbed the other suitcase from the closet and retrieved the ring. I grabbed my small over night bag, and it was a tight fit, but I was able to get the ring in there and close the zipper.
EJ's POV:
I walked downstairs towards the kitchen, and quickly noticed a familiar heartbeat. I turned the corner to see my sister rummaging threw the fridge and cabinets, and putting various things on the counter.
"Hey Little Brother, you hungry? I'm about to start making dinner." Ness' angelic voice brought a smile to my face and for a moment I was able to forget about the worries I was having about Michel.
"Maybe in a bit, I'm just making some tea for now. Want some?"
"I'm good. I think I'm going to make ravioli tonight, what do you think?" Ness had discovered a new love for cooking, and was constantly looking up new recipes or asking Esme for help or advice on things, which Esme loved of course.
"Sounds good." I looked threw the cabinets to find the tea kettle, Ness also likes to rearrange the kitchen now.
"You ok, EJ? You sound strange."
"It's nothing." I mumbled. I finally found what I was looking for far from where it normally is, but all well.
"So it's something?" Ness crossed her arms and gave me a very Momish look. I just rolled my eyes and walked over to the sink.
"Michel's just acting a bit strange is all." I admitted.
"Strange how?" Ness walked over and jumped up to sit on the counter next to the sink.
"He seems a bit jumpy, and a moment ago he completely spaced out. I'm guessing he's just tired, so I'm going to make him some tea and hopefully he'll get some sleep tonight."
"Hmm."
I looked up at my sister, "What does, 'hmm' mean?"
Ness smiled excitedly, "It's nothing, just a bit of de ja vu is all." Ness hopped off the counter and went back to the large variety of food she had set out.
"How so?" I turned the water on and put the tea kettle underneath.
"You remember a few months ago when I was feeling the same way about Jacob? You know how he was acting weird, and then I was all worried, and I came to you for advise about it."
"Yes." It was less than 2 months ago.
"And then I was worried for nothing, because it was just Jacob being nervous about proposing.
"Yeah, but that's..." Wait.
"And not to mention you're going on a nice romantic vacation, just the 2 of you, for the anniversary of when you 2 got together."
I felt my heart starting to beat rapidly like it might fall out of my chest, and my head started to fog up. Could Ness be right? Was Michel acting nervous because he wants to ask me to-
"EJ!"
What?" I shook my head and looked at my sister.
"Now who's zoning out? I think you've got enough water in there." I looked at the over flowing tea kettle and turned the water off.
"Do you really think that?"
"Didn't he already talk with you about it on Christmas Eve?"
"Yeah, right after you got engaged. I didn't think it would be any time soon though. He made it seem like you know years from now or something." Seriously, I wasn't expecting this anytime soon.
"Well are you happy? And this is all just speculation you know."
"But it makes since for why Michel's acting like he is, and of course I'm happy. Michel's the most important person in the world to me."
"Gee thanks." Ness laughed.
"You know what I mean. If he is planning to ask me though, of course I'd say yes." Being married to Michel would be a dream come true for me, even if we haven't been together long I'm never going to want someone more than him.
"Well I really hope I'm right, that way you can share hurricane Alice with me." Alice had been in full wedding planner mode since New Years, and I don't think I've ever seen her so... Alicey before.
"I'm good, you're getting married before me anyways."
"After we graduate school and before we move again. Come on, maybe we can get married together? Twins do that stuff all the time."
"Forget it Ness. Why don't you just tell Alice to cool it? She's very reasonable." Most of the time.
"Not when it comes to weddings. I joked about doing a court house wedding, and I'm still having nightmare's about the look she gave me." Ness had a slight shudder appear to go down her spine.
"Well I'll take some of the load off, but you still got first dibs."
"Fine." Ness smiled at me and started on her dish while I finished making the tea.
"Hey, again I'm not saying that's what's going to happen, but I really do hope so because you 2 are so amazing together."
I walked over to my sister and gave her a tight hug, "Thanks Ness, you're the best sister ever."
"I know." She hugged me back, and then quickly let go to get back to chopping a bunch of vegetables, "Dinner will be ready in a bit."
I grabbed the 2 cups of tea and started walking out of the kitchen. Just as I left the room I heard Ness humming, "Here comes the bride." I really do hope she's right, but if she thinks I'm wearing a dress she's got another thing coming.
Chapter 2 will be out soon!- Liona
