Getting old

avc.382 asked for a oneshot of *season 6 mid-season finale spoilers!* Emma teasing her parents about how old they were in the wish realm.

The amount of work the Charming family put into keeping Storybrooke safe from villains was extensive, to say the least. So it was no wonder that on those rare occasions where the town was relatively villain free, they relaxed a little bit.

Once the Evil Queen was defeated and Gideon at least detained, Storybrooke went through one of its few villain lulls. So the family were able to relax a little bit. It was then that Emma was finally able to share with her parents (who were now un-cursed) some of the details from her time in the Wish Realm. Her favourite detail being just how old they had been. Something she took great pleasure in reminding them whenever the opportunity should arise.

"Well, I'm gonna hit the hay." Her dad had said one evening. Neal had been up the whole night before, Emma knew that, but it didn't mean she wasn't going to have a bit of a tease.

"Early bedtime for you then, grandpa?" Emma wound him up. He couldn't even refute the grandpa bit. Charming just raised an eyebrow at her.

"Early to bed, early to rise." He told her. "Some of us don't stay in our pits until midday." He said, ruffling her hair (he knew that annoyed her). Emma grinned. She knew she'd won that round.

A few days later, her mom was suffering from a sore back. Emma knew it was because she'd been drafted into the first graders class the previous day, which required a lot more bending down. But again, it didn't stop Emma from spying an opportunity.

"Oh, so it begins!" Emma teased her mom. "First a sore back here and there. Next thing you know, you'll be using a cane on wet days to stop yourself from slipping." Snow rolled her eyes, knowing better than to respond to her remarks.

"One day, Emma Swan, you shall be old. Need I remind you that in this realm, it will be alongside your father and me in physical terms. I wonder if you'll take such great delight in reminding us of our old age when we can just point you to a mirror?" Snow asked. Emma became silent. She hadn't thought about it that way. Snow smirked. She didn't think Emma would be bothering either of them about their ages anymore.
