Defending little bro

Sorceress of Stories asked for a oneshot of Emma going after a girl that broke Neal's heart. The girl then complains to Neal. Instead of being embarrassed or angry, he's pleased Emma loves him enough to do that for him.

"Uh, Neal?" Charming called. "I think Elise wants to talk to you." Neal sighed. What did she want? She had broken up with him. What right did she have to come round here at night pounding on his parents' door? Never the less, Neal trudged down the stairs. Charming gave his son a grimace as he left them to it. Neither he nor Snow had ever really liked that girl. She seemed to think Neal was there to suit her every whim.

When Neal appeared, his no ex had a face like thunder. Her hands were balled tightly into fists, shaking slightly.

"Well, aren't you going to invite me in?" She snapped. Neal stayed cool.

"No." He answered simply. "Whatever you have to nag me about, you can do it here and be done with it." This didn't improve Elise's foul mood.

"Fine! Leave me here to freeze then. I can't believe I put up with you for almost a year. Then, when I do finally dump you, you have your big sister come meet me from school to yell at me? What kind of baby has his big sister fight his battles for him? How old are you Neal?" Elise taunted him. Neal didn't even bat an eye. He hadn't known Emma had spoken to Elise, but he didn't care. Elise deserved to be yelled at for being so cold. He was just too much of a gentleman to do it. He was pretty touched Emma had done it for him.

"I'm sixteen, Elise. I didn't know my sister had spoken to you after we broke up. However, nor do I care. Good night." With that, Neal closed the door on her. She pounded the door a few more times, calling him every name under the sun, but she eventually gave up. Neal then went through to the living room, where his parents were clearly waiting to hear what that was all about.

"Emma spoke to her. I'll need to buy her a bear claw tomorrow." Was all Neal told them. Snow and Charming couldn't deny they were confused. Neal was happy Emma had shouted at his ex-girlfriend? They wouldn't make a fuss though. If Neal didn't mind, neither did they. In fact, they'd probably make sure Emma had a month long supply of bear claws.
