A healthy consequence

FanOfMost asked for a oneshot of Emma doing a spell to turn her vegetables into junk food. However, it backfires and any junk food that comes within a foot of her turns into something healthy.

"Come on Emma." Snow sighed at her eight-year-old daughter. "It's just some broccoli. It doesn't bite." Emma pressed her lips tightly together and shook her head. She wasn't eating it. It was gross. Snow looked to Charming. It was his turn now.

"Emma." Charming said sternly. "Emma Ruth." He repeated when she didn't look at him. "Young lady, if you do not eat your vegetables, you will not get dessert. You'll have to sit at the table and watch as your brothers and sister get to eat their delicious pastry while you get nothing." Charming warned her. Emma knew he was serious, but they were both forgetting one thing. She had magic. She had been working real hard with Blue on transforming objects. She was sure she could transform her vegetables into a pastry."

"Fine, I'll eat it, but not like this." Emma concentrated real hard as she aimed the spell at the broccoli. When the silver fog cleared, there was no difference.

"See Emma, magic doesn't solve everything." Snow told her. "Now eat it." Emma grumbled her way through eating the broccoli, making out like it was sheer poison. Snow and Charming just ignored her antics. When her plate was clear, the dinner plates were taken away and the pastries brought out. But as soon as they got near Emma, they vanished and in their place came a pile of vegetables. Emma gasped in horror. Snow and Charming looked at each other, amused.

"Another key lesson, Emma. All magic comes with a price. Especially when you don't have enough of it to cast the spell correctly." Emma sat back in a huff with her arms folded tightly across her chest. No fair! She'd ate the stupid broccoli. Where was her dessert?!
