Scene: College
Annabeth's school-mates
post-Giant war
Background: Annabeth never really talks to anyone. She's always with a book in hand. She's beautiful enough to be popular, smart enough to be a nerd, but she doesn't hang out with anyone. Pov- Max Marks.
'Sup y'all? The name's Max. I'm 19, go to college, and have a crush on this hot chick named Annabeth. And today's the day that I'm finally gonna ask her out.
I found Annabeth outside, reading a book in another language. It looked like she was waiting for someone, but I brushed it off. I was about to approach her, when a car pulled up next to her. I clenched my fists. Whoever was driving that could have hurt her if they weren't careful!
The door opened and my jaw, along with everyone else's who was watching, dropped. A dude stepped out, with tan skin and windswept black hair. His sea-green eyes were mesmerizing.
Please be a cousin, I prayed.
I walked closer so I could hear what they were saying.
"Ready to go Wise Girl?" he asked.
Annabeth just held up three fingers, concentrating on the book as the guy leaned back against the car.
Finally, after what felt like forever, she got up and stretched. She walked towards him and pecked him on the cheek, which left my heart dropping to my stomach. Of course, I thought bitterly, of course a girl as amazing as her has a boyfriend.
I watched as the two walked to the car. The guy held open the car door and Annabeth slipped inside. Craning my neck to get a better look at the man who had stolen Annabeth's heart, I saw why I had just described him as a 'man'.
His eyes were hardened, like they'd seen carnage I could only dream of. There were scars littering his body. Slashes, claw marks, even bite marks. What happened to him? I found myself wondering. He went into the car and sped off, leaving me pondering the question.
A few weeks later, I was out in the city when I saw Annabeth and her boyfriend sitting and talking. I wasn't gonna lie, he looked terrible. I went closer and heard Annabeth whisper something to him, "shhhh, Percy, it's okay, we're out, we're safe, they can't hurt us," leaving me wondering what she was talking about. But, Percy, that was his name. I smiled at how close they were, closer than any other couple I'd seen. I wouldn't try to break them up, not when they were so obviously perfect for each other. I left.
A/n: Okay, there's a poll up on my profile, asking whether you guys want me to write the prank war.
So, QOTC:
Who would you think wins in a fight? Percy or Sophie from KOTLC?
If you have no idea what that stands for, it's Keeper of the Lost Cities, and it's awesome, go check it out!
