When the newly informed Guardians walked out of the Hall of The Vanguard, past Lord Shaxx and Eris Morn, they walked up to the Gunsmith who was hiding up in a corner. When they arrived, there was another Guardian already there, a female Hunter. Alex thought that this could be the Katherine Rivers, so he asked her. 'Excuse me. You wouldn't happen to be Katelyn, would you?' Alex asked the woman next to him.

'Katelyn Rivers, in the flesh. You can call me Kat, but everyone calls me Katherine, who's asking?' The woman that confirmed Alex's suspicions answered.

'Alex Withers, Cayde told me to find you, after he got my name wrong.' Alex responded.

'He does that with every new Hunter, and I'm pretty sure it's deliberate.' Katelyn told Alex.

'He do it to you?' Alex asked.

'Yep, called me Katrina, what'd he call you?' Katelyn asked Alex.

'Alan.' Alex said.

'Nice eyes by the way.' Katelyn said now just noticing Alex's amber eyes. 'Thanks.' Alex said. He'd noticed that Katelyn had her helmet off but that her hood was still up.

'Is your hood being up a fashion choice or...?' Alex asked.

'Huh, oh I keep forgetting to take this thing off when my helmet is down.' She said in response to Alex's question. When she took it down, it revealed her brown hair, slightly darker than Alex's spiked hair that was a tousled hairstyle.

'Ahem!' a voice from behind Alex and Kat went. The two Hunters turned around and looked at who made the noise. 'Hi I'm Velra, now if you two lovebirds could stop chattin each other up for a second and let us get our guns, that would be lovely.' Velra said with clear passive aggression in her voice. Alex and Kate slightly blushed after Velra said lovebirds.

'Now Banshee is it?' Paladin asked the Gunsmith who was standing in behind a table with an assortment of weapons on it.

'Yes, I am Banshee-44, the Tower Gunsmith.' the Exo behind the table said.

'Okay, we need some new weapons.' Alex said.

'Let's see what you've got so far. You there, Titan, let's see your gun.' Banshee said, pointing to Paladin. Paladin handed over the assault rifle he picked up from the Wall to Banshee. He examined the weapon by looking at it from different angles and then aimed down the sights. 'Well, it's an old Khvostov 7g-o2, very old and an excellent gun. But there are a few problems, and you've got a cracked sight lens the firing pin in this is gone, and it is so old that the next time you fire this, it'll fall to pieces.' Banshee said.

'Ah, fuck.' Paladin said.

'Here take this its called Galahad-E, this will suit as a replacement until you have a better gun.' Paladin took the gun and put it on his back.

Velra was next to show Banshee her gun. He took the gun and examined it the same way he did Paladins. Then he spoke up. 'Well, this is fucked.' He said. 'The barrel has a slice mark that goes all the way to the muzzle, see.' he said showing the slice he was mentioning. 'It's cut so deep and with enough heat that it's completely melted the barrel on the inside shut. Nothing will come out.' He took the gun and placed it in a box behind him. Then he came back, went below his table and brought back a gun. 'Here, this is the Evergreen II.I. Use this as until you get a new one.' The Gunsmith said.

Banshee looked at Alex and asked him. 'What about you?'

'Here you go.' Alex said as he handed over his Hand cannon. Banshee looked at the gun puzzled, or as puzzled as his Exo face would allow him to be.

'Where did you find this?' He asked Alex.

'In the Wall, on the floor, why?' Alex asked Banshee puzzled.

'Only times you find a gun like this is when a Guardian has left it deliberately on the floor, or when they're dead.' Banshee said to Alex.

'Wait, this belongs to another Guardian?' Alex asked Banshee.

'Belonged.' Banshee added. 'Now I might be wrong due to the amount of dirt this thing has on it...' Banshee left the sentence without finishing it as he looked at the gun and wiped the dirt and dust off the weapon. When the weapon was fully clean, everyone could see a gold and black gun that looked like a modernised cowboy gun. 'Ah-ha.' Banshee said. 'What you have here is one of the three copies of a gun that belongs to a mighty Hunter.' Banshee told Alex.

'Ok, well what gun is it and whom does the original one belong to.' Alex asked Banshee.

'Well what you have here is the Last Word, and the original belongs to a Hunter called Shin Malphur. He has the original, the three replicas that were made were made by me. I gave one to a Titan a few years back, can't remember his name though. Another went to a Warlock decades back, again no clue what their name was, not even sure if it was a Warlock. The last one I made went to a Hunter who went into the same Wall you found this in. That was last week.' Banshee said. 'I'll keep a hold of this until I think you're ready to use it. until then take this, it's called the Polite Denial 0/1.' Alex took the gun, spun it around his finger and put it in his holster.

'Ok, now let's go see Amanda.' Velra said as she turned and began to walk away.

'Wait!' Alex said.

'What?' Velra asked Alex.

'I gotta do something first.' Alex told his impatient teammate.

'Ok then, we'll go without you.' Velra said.

'No, We will wait here for Alex to come back.' Paladin told Velra.

'Well, what are we gonna do to pass the time, twiddle our thumbs?' Velra asked.

'No, We have something you two can do whilst Alex is away.' Griffin said.

'Which is?' Velra asked very quickly, losing patience.

'You can choose what voice we have.' Griffin said. 'Well ok then, let's do that.' Velra said with enthusiasm growing in her voice.

'Ok then Kate, it looks like we can go.' Alex said to Kate.

Kat was slightly taken aback when he called her Kate

With Paladin and Velra choosing a new voice for their Ghosts Alex and Kate went off to a room behind Banshees stand which had Guardians shooting at targets on the walls, roof, and floor. It also had punching bags and robots with boxing pads on them. Of in the distance was another room which had loud noises coming from it. 'This way.' Kate said as she entered the other room. Once inside, Alex could see different Guardians doing different things. Some were shooting Bows that looked like the purple light that Velra had used in the Cosmodrome. Others were using the same thing Havoc-driven fists that Paladin used. 'Right, Goldstrike is it?' Kate asked Goldstrike.

'Yes?' Goldstrike responded.

'Show me the footage of Alex using his Golden Gun please.' Kate said to Goldstrike.

Goldstrike projected a video from his perspective next to Velra. The video showed all that Alex done from the slight head turn to the sharp shooting with his gun. As the video ended, Kate couldn't help but look at Alex in amazement at what she had just seen him do. 'You did that, fresh out of the grave?' Kate asked not entirely sure if what she saw was genuine or not.

'Yep.' Alex said modestly.

'To pull off something like that, with as much fluidity as you takes a metric-fuck ton of practise and skill.' Kate told Alex. 'You were able to do that one your first go!' Kate said.

'Beginners luck, I guess?' Alex said, shrugging his shoulders.

'Well, whatever it is, it's damn impressive.' Kate said, complementing Alex's raw skill.

'Thanks.' Alex said in response.

'Now, Cayde wants me to teach you how to thrown a knife like a gunslinger.' Kate told Alex.

'Ok, then teach me.' Alex said, eager to learn.

Kate grabbed her knife from her belt and threw it at a target. When it hit the target, it exploded and made a scorch mark on it.

'You're gonna learn to do that.' Kate said to Alex.

Alex bewildered responded by saying, 'Ok.'

'Now to get your throwing knife to do what mine did you need to channel your Solar energy and focus part of it into your knife.' Kate said to Alex.

'What is Solar energy?' Alex asked.

Kate look at Alex confused.

'We had to get the fuck out of that Cosmodrome. I didn't have time to explain anything to him.' Goldstrike told Kate.

'Ok then, Solar energy, or Solar light when used by Guardians is basically fire powers, and in the context of a Gunslinger, Fire powers that go into knives, like you just saw and to make the Golden Gun that you used.' Kate said to Alex feeling like a teacher at the City High School.

'Ok, I think I understand.' Alex told Kate.

'Now grab your knife, and put your Solar light through it.' Kate instructed to Alex.

Alex followed Kates instructions and grabbed his knife, and whilst he grabbed it, he channelled part of his Solar light into it. When it was at the height optimized for throwing the knife, felt warn in Alex's hand, but did not hurt him.

He threw the knife with a lot of force at the same target that Kate had just hit. When it hit it left a scorch mark on the target. After exploding, his knife came back to his belt.

'Well done, Alex. Now try it again.' Kate said to Alex.

Alex feeling more confident about this grabbed his knife from his belt, and as he brought it up to throwing height, Alex spun his blade around his finger and threw it at the same target as before, with the same result.

'You cocky bastard.' Kate said to Alex trying to hide how impressed she was that he could do that on his second throw.

Alex just turned his head and gave a smug smile to Kate.

'Ok well, that's all I can teach you just now. You're only what, three hours resurrected? I'll teach you some more stuff when either I think you're ready or when you show me that you're ready. Until then if you need any help whilst patrolling, I'm only a call away.' Kate said to Alex.

'Right, ok, well let's see if Paladin and Velra have killed themselves?' Alex said as he began to walk towards the door leading to Banshee.

As Alex and Kate walked through the door, Velra said to them both, 'Ah, the two explorers return, tell me, Alex, how was the cave?'

Paladin punched Velra in the arm and said, 'Stop it.'

'But it's fun.' Velra said to Paladin.

'That's not the point.' Paladin responded.

'No, no. Its fine Din. Let her have her fun... for now.' Alex told Paladin.

'So did you two choose your Ghost's voices?' Kate asked Velra and Paladin.

'I did, she didn't. Her Ghost is fine with her voice just like she's fine with her name.' Paladin told Kate.

Alex sneered.

'So what voice does your Ghost have, Paladin?' Alex inquired.

'Some Irish man who screamed a lot. Jakeblueface was it?' Paladin said.

'JackSepticeye or Seán McLoughlin.' LightningFire said.

'Hey, that name sounds familiar?' an Irishman with green hair said as he heard the conversation.

'Ok Alex, time to pick my new voice. What'll it be?' Goldstrike asked.

'An actor, from roundabout before the Traveler arrived. Male and Canadian.' Alex told his Ghost.

'I've got one here. A man called Ryan Reynolds.' Goldstrike said.

'What's he sound like?' Alex asked.

'Well, he sounds like this.' Goldstrike said, sounding like Ryan Reynolds.

'That's the one.' Alex said.

'Ok good.' Goldstrike said.

'Well, we should be gettin to Amanda.' Paladin said.

'See ya Alex.' Kate said to Alex.

'I'm gonna hold you up on that training by the way. I hope you know that.' Alex said to Kate.

'Just go and get your damn ships.' Kate said.

With that Alex, Velra and Paladin walked away to the Tower Hanger to get their new ships so they could journey and go to the stars.
