Arle was walking around the Primp Town forest. She was frolicking with her best friend Carbuncle. The pair were nearing a pond they saw, when Arle heard something. "Ehehe" She heard a quiet and creepy laugh. A laughed that seemed to have come from a male. The Mage started to look around the area. Carby joined her, and stayed wary of it's surroundings. "Hehehe…" The two heard the voice again, which seemed to get louder and louder. Finally, Arle realized that the voice was coming from a tree nearby. It was covered in shrubs, so she couldn't see a single creature under the giant plant. Arle and Carby looked at eachother, before the two finally decided to approach the tree. "Hahaha" The voice started to get louder, and clearer. It was very familiar, but Arle couldn't quite put her finger on who it belonged to. As the two got closer, the slower and quieter they walked. And after a few more seconds, they've finally reached the shrubs, still wary, and remembering to not get too close to them. After hearing a few more laughs, Arle peeked.
"Wha-?!" She yelped in surprise. However, whoever was laughing did not hear her, as it just continued on without pausing. "I-is that…" She mumbled quietly this time. "Gu~?" Carbuncle sounded confused. The mage carried her friend up, and slowly showed who she has seen. "It's Schezo!" Arle looked at Carby with wide eyes. Carbuncle stared at the Dark Mage's white-snow hair. He was turned around ,and appeared to be laughing to himself. "Gu~!" Carby sounded shocked too. "Why is he laughing to himself?... Wait… He laughs?" Arle thought to herself, before giggling. "I guess he does… But why?" She looked back at Schezo's back. Suddenly, he lifted something up. "Oh!" Arle exclaimed to herself. The boy stood up, and turned around. Finally, Arle and Carbuncle has seen the reason to his happiness. "Woah...!" The girl mumbled in shock. "Gu…" Carby also looked shocked. For something so unexpected to make Schezo laugh. "A-a Dongurigaeru..?" Arle sounded confused. "Haha!" Schezo laughed again, before losing focus on his friend. "WHA-?! A-Arle?!" He yelled in surprise, letting go of the acorn-shaped frog. Arle and Carby looked at him with awkward smiles. "H-hey, Schezo…" The girl slowly waved her hand. Schezo's face instantly flushed red. "H-how long have you been here?" The boy palmed his face. Arle stayed quiet for a while. She kept looking at him with a somehow scared, but awkward smile. "U-um… I-I just got here…" She averted her gaze away from him. Schezo removed his hand from his face, and looked at the girl again. "Well… I saw enough…" The female mage quietly sighed. The Dark Mage rose his eyebrow. Slightly, he felt himself getting nervous. "I heard you laughing for the first time…" She turned to look at the boy. "So… You like Dongurigaerus?" Arle smiled at Schezo, whose eyes popped open. He unknowingly backed away from the girl, still looking stunned. "Huh?! W-what are you talking about…?!" Schezo tried to sound as confident as he can. "I saw you playing with this frog, and laughing" She grabbed the Dongurigaeru, and squished it around. The boy just kept quiet and looked at the frog that was being massaged. "I didn't know that all it took to make you happy, and make you laugh are Dongurigaerus!" She giggled, and turned the frog to look at it's chubby face. Schezo narrowed his eyes and sighed. "Hey! Don't blame me that I feel happy with my frog friends!" He yelled, getting the girl to look at him again. Schezo looked down and gulped, before looking back at her.
"I think that they're cute and adorable, okay?!" He pointed his finger at the girl. Arle looked at him with a very astonished expression. Unexpected by Schezo, She began to blush. "That's actually cute! Haha!" She hugged the frog this time. "You like cute things too, Schezo?" She asked while playing with the frog more. The Dark Mage stood in silence. He stared at the girl, looking very dazed. He got such an unexpected response, that it almost seemed like he was dreaming. "Y-yeah..?" He could only response with a short and confused stutter. Arle giggled again after hearing his response. To see him looking innocent and silly was such a refreshing sight. Especially since she knew how he would normally act near her. "Why do you hide this?" The mage walked slightly closer to Schezo. She handed over the frog, who happily hopped into his arms. The Dark Mage still kept silent for a long while, before sitting down, and finally replying. "Well… You don't normally see brave and powerful knights or mages be round with little and cute creatures. They mostly accompany themselves with chiselled and scary creatures… I suppose I thought that it would be embarrassing for anybody to find out that I… really like cute creatures…" Schezo explained, being surprisingly honest. Something Arle did not expect, and something Arle really appreciated. "That's a very honest answer…" She happily smiled, before sitting next to him. The boy sighed at her reply. "Don't tell others, okay?" He frowned at her. Arle kept her smile and nodded. "You shouldn't really, in any way, be embarassed, though" She looked back at Schezo. "I think it's cute that someone as serious as you are… Someone who I almost never see smile… Actually really like hanging around cute creatures..!" She slightly laughed. Slowly, she put his hand on top of his. "But I promise I won't say if you don't want me too…" She smiled again. "Gugu~!"
Schezo grew a smile, along with red cheeks. "T-Thank you, Arle…" He mumbled, holding the mage's arm. The two silently looked at eachother while sharing smiles. "Ribbit~!" They heard their friend Dongurigaeru. Both turned their heads to the floating frog. Schezo smiled at the view. Not minding the other two, he cheerfully played with the little creature. Arle happily smiled at the sight. Who knew someone like Schezo would have a soft spot for adorable creatures like these..?
