Adopting the princess- part 2

Myohanamylove asked for a oneshot of a sequel to Ch2268 "Adopting the princess" where Snowing break the infertility curse and have a baby. They catch Emma packing her bags, assuming she's being sent back.

"I just can't stop looking at him." Snow cooed down at her baby boy. Charming smiled by her side. He too couldn't keep his eyes off his beautiful son. He was a complete miracle. Snow and Charming had given up hope long ago on finding a cure to the curse of infertility George had landed upon Snow all those years ago. After adopting Emma, they had no reason to keep looking for a cure. She made their lives complete. Blue had only found the cure to the curse a couple of years ago. Snow and Charming had gone into serious discussions over whether or not to accept it for themselves and try for another baby. Yes, they considered their son to be another baby, not their first. Emma may not have been adopted into their family until she was five years old, but both Snow and Charming would always consider her to be their first baby.

She had accepted the news of Snow being pregnant fairly well. At fourteen, she had some idea of what her mom being pregnant actually meant. So, providing she was spared details, she seemed happy.

Now that Neal was here, though, Snow and Charming were both concerned. She didn't seem too keen on meeting her new little brother. She'd seen and held him once the day he was born. Now that he was four days old, Snow and Charming were worried that she wasn't showing any interest in interacting with Neal.

"Have you seen Emma today?" Snow asked Charming. Charming frowned.

"No, she's been avoiding me. She's been asking Johanna to take her meals up to her room. She claims that she's ill, but I know she's just avoiding us." Snow leaned her head back against Charming's chest.

"I don't like this. She's our baby and she won't see us. When we found out we were having this baby, I had all these dreams of Emma and the baby playing together, getting along. She just doesn't want to see Neal at all. Can you go get her for me, please?" Snow asked Charming. He smiled, gently pecking Snow's lips.

"Of course I'll go get our girl. I'll be back in a moment." He leaned down and kissed the top of Neal's head as well before getting up and wandering along to Emma's room. He knocked before poking his head in.

"Hey baby. Your mama was just wondering if…Emma, what are you doing?" Charming asked. Emma was by her wardrobe, which was flung wide open with clothes sprawled all over the place. Most of them were landing in the bag Emma had set up in the middle of the room. She froze at the sound of her dad's voice.

"Nothing." Emma lied. Charming came into the room.

"This doesn't look like nothing." Charming pointed out. "Where is it you think you're going?" Emma shrugged, looking down at the floor. Charming came over to Emma and gently tilted her chin up so they were making eye contact. "Talk to me, Em." Emma yanked her head back.

"Fine! You've got your stinking baby. I was always just here because you couldn't have your own. Now that you've got him, I know what's going to happen. I saw it plenty of times before I came here. I'll go back without a fuss. Nobody has to say anything." Charming was horrified. Emma thought she was being sent back?

"Emma put, the clothes down." Charming told her calmly. When she didn't, Charming took them off her. He then steered her down the corridor to his and Snow's room.

"What are you doing?!" Charming squeaked. "Let me go!" Charming ignored her, taking her into the room with Snow and Neal.

"What's going on?" Snow asked, alarmed at how angry Emma sounded.

"Emma thinks we're going to ask her to leave now that we have Neal. That's why she's been avoiding us." Charming quickly explained. Snow was just as shocked as Charming had been when he found out what Emma was thinking.

"Emma, sit down." Snow said gently, patting the space on the bed Charming had been sitting on. Emma didn't move. "Come on Em." Snow urged her. Emma sighed, but did come and sit down. She kept a clear distance between her and her mother. Or specifically, her and the baby. "Emma, look at me." Snow asked her daughter. Emma sighed, but did as she was told. Snow moved Neal into one arm so she could stroke Emma's cheek with her free hand. "Neal might be our first biological child, but don't for one moment think we mistake that for meaning Neal is our first child. Just because you didn't grow in my womb doesn't mean your father and I don't regard you as our daughter. Do you really think we are going to send you back to the orphanage?" Emma stayed silent.

"Your mom's right, baby. You're not going anywhere. You're Neal's big sister. He needs you, and so do we. What made you think we'd ever want to send you away?" Emma shrugged.

"Like I said, I'd seen it happen before." She mumbled. Charming sighed, squeezing onto the bed, sandwiching Emma between her parents. He kissed the top of her head.

"Well, it's not happening here." He promised her. Emma didn't respond. She still wasn't sure how she felt about having a baby brother, but at least she knew she wasn't going away.
