Can't think straight

Emma spent hours tossing and turning. This couldn't be right. Belle and Rumplestiltskin's son? How could the tiny baby Emma had been present for at birth be the man trying to kill her now? Who knew when he would strike? Emma was still trying to work out a way to end her parents' curse, alongside trying to fight her own fate. Knowing it was Gideon just tipped her over the edge. She couldn't do this alone. She needed her parents. Right now, it was her mom's time to be awake, but Emma knew she had fallen asleep curled up by her dad. But unlike her dad, she could be woken up. Emma had been debating going and getting her mom for ages, but she just didn't know what to say to her. So in the end, when Emma knew she could no longer stay put, she decided she simply wouldn't say anything.

Emma made her way downstairs, her heart hammering in her chest. She couldn't properly think straight. She didn't know it then, but she was having an absence panic attack. All she could even vaguely focus on was getting down to her mom.

Emma made her way into her parents' bedroom. Charming was sleeping soundly in his unending sleep whilst Neal snoozed peacefully in his crib. Emma saw her mom, curled into her father's side. She gently shook her mom's shoulder. Snow's eyes shot open. Since having a baby full time, she'd become a rather light sleeper. She saw Emma hovering above her, clearly anxious.

"Emma?" Snow croaked sleepily. She hadn't meant to fall asleep, she spent enough of her time doing that nowadays. It just happened. "Honey, what's wrong?" Emma didn't respond. She just took her mom's hand and got her out of the bed. Snow was very confused. What was going on? Emma quickly lead her mom out of her room and up the stairs. All the while, Snow continued to question Emma on what was happening. Emma still gave no response. She simply brought her mom into her bedroom. She stopped by the bed. She simply couldn't get words out, they just weren't coming. She would try and they would get lost on the way to her mouth.

"It's ok." Snow said gently, seeing that Emma was in distress. "What do you need?" She asked. Emma's eyes kept darting between her mom and the bed. Snow understood. She slowly took her hand out of Emma's and got onto the bed. She looked back at Emma, waiting to see what Emma wanted her to do next. Emma crawled onto the side beside Snow, her head resting on Snow's shoulder. Her arms slowly encircled her mom's waist, holding her close.

"I-I just really needed…wanted…I…"

"Shh." Snow told her, kissing the top of Emma's head. She understood. "You don't need to say anything. I'm here Em. You're safe." Emma still couldn't think straight, but she at least knew, for tonight, she wasn't alone.
