Dreaming of cheese
Alex asked for a oneshot of Emma's lunches continuously being interrupted by calls from work. She wants to get a grilled cheese at the end of her shift because she's hungry. Her dad won't let her though because Snow's made them a healthy dinner. Emma's not happy about it!
Franziska: I'm not sure I could write that.
Guest: Clearly so does your vocabulary. You can keep telling me my stories suck if your life is that meaningless that it makes you happy, I'll just keep deleting your reviews. You're just a coward who doesn't even have the guts to log in when you troll people. I truly hope you find more meaning in your life one day, until then, you'll just be ignored here. The opinion of one tiny coward won't affect me.
By the time Emma reached the end of their shift she was starving. Every time she started to make the journey to Granny's, her dad came in over the walkie again. It seemed Emma's stomach was doomed to suffer for the whole day.
As such, she hadn't been able to get those beautiful, scrumptious, grilled cheese sandwiches out of her head. Her stomach was beginning to think her throat had been cut.
"Home time." Charming sighed as he buckled himself into the passenger seat of the cruiser.
"Oh yeah." Emma said, grinning. She loved her job, but she loved going home even more. Especially when she was going to her parents' house for the evening. She loved having all her family under one roof. "But first, a little pit stop." Charming looked across at her, waiting for her to elaborate. "Granny's. I've been dying for a grilled cheese all day." Emma explained. Her dad grimaced. "What?"
"Emma, your mom texted me about half an hour ago. She's got dinner on the go for us. It'll be ready not long after we get back." Emma pressed her lips tightly together and gave a brisk nod.
"What's she made?" Emma asked. If she wasn't going to get her grilled cheese today, she had to get her stomach thinking of what else she was getting. Charming seemed reluctant to answer. "Dad?" Emma pressed him.
"Oh, you know, one of the recipes from the cookbook Henry got her for Christmas…" Emma's face paled. Henry had got his gran one of these healthy living cookbooks, seeing as he was no longer living with her and having to eat her food daily. That wasn't helping Emma just now.
"No." Emma said blatantly. "Heck no. I have not been dreaming of grilled cheese all day only to get grilled halloumi instead. Come on, dad! You know I haven't eaten anything today."
"Well, you could have packed sandwiches like me." Charming pointed out. "Then you wouldn't be so hangry right now." Emma growled at her dad. Charming had to stop himself from laughing. "Come on, Em. It'll still taste good?" He tried to calm her down with. It didn't seem to work very well.
"Not as good as Granny's grilled cheese." Emma grumbled moodily as she harshly yanked the car into gear.
"I won't pass onto your mother that you said that." Charming chuckled. Emma just ignored him. She would eat her stupid rabbit food dinner, but she didn't have to be happy about it.
