Chapter One
"From another world? You're kidding."
"No." The investigator said bluntly.
Now that I think about it, I don't know if I had a life here.
"Doctor?"
Vernes disengages himself from his thoughts,
"Mhm?"
"Can you see if I have anybody close to me? Anybody on records with my name?"
"Sure, Zack."
"Hey."
"We aren't done talking yet, Zack."
He said my name with a tone of annoyance.
Damn, this guy is a pain in the ass.
"What other questions would you have for me?" I asked straightforwardly.
"What is that?"
The investigator pointed towards some kind of object, no. A weapon of some sorts.
"Do you really think I would know?"
I am really getting tired of this guy and his obvious questions.
"There was an engraving on it that we had been unable to understand."
"We were thinking you might understand it."
He places it on the foot of my hospital bed.
"Fine."
"MX-74 Assault Rifle... dated 2034."
Assault Rifle? The hell is that?"Assault Rifle..."
"Quite peculiar object you've got there Zack."
The investigator seemed to be satisfied with his answers.
"I am going to head out now. Goodbye Zack, and get better."
He sounded almost narcissistic.
Bastard.
Three Hours Later
There was a knock at the door.
"That you, Doctor?"
"Yes."
"Did you find anything?"
"Unfortunately, no."
"There is no one in our lists that have your surname."
"Thanks anyways, Doctor."
"You're welcome, and get some sleep now!"
"Mhm."
Gunshots
Explosions
Screams"
Captain!"
I sat straight up in bed, drenched with sweat.
"What the hell was that!?"
As I start to calm down, I feel my gaze shift towards the 'Assault Rifle'.
Maybe this thing has a sinister connection to my life?
