Chapter 1: Moonwalking delivery man

Through the streets of a Japanese suburban neighborhood, a teenager in a black and green tracksuit arrived at a household carrying a large backpack and a metal container in his right hand.

Knocking on the door, he shouted for the occupants to come out.

"Your deliver has arrived."

The door opened revealing a short pink-haired tomboy wearing an orange hoodie and brown shorts. "You're on time as always Tobi."

"Being late would be bad for business Mikan-san." Setting the container down, he undid a latch and pulled out a tray with four steaming bowls of oyakodon. "I'll come to collect the dishes later."

"Here's your pay." Handing over the money Mikan took the tray. "If only that idiot crow was like you, we sent him out to get some salt yesterday and he brought back something else. Now he's goofing off somewhere."

"Eh, Ikki-san's not here and Rika san went off on her tour right. So are the extra portions for you?"

"Nah, the idiot left when he got a call from his friends. As much as I want to eat his share, the crow and Ringo will annoy me so can you go find him and get his ass back here."

"Ah, well this was my last delivery for the day so I don't mind." Picking up the container, Tobi closed the lid tightly. "Do you know where he might be?"

"Eh, I guess the normal dump he and his wannabe gangster friends go to beat the shit out of each other."

"Ah… the east side something."

"East Side Gunz, for being in the same school you don't pay much attention."

"Sorry, I'm mostly concerned with my job and studying. I have rent to pay and I don't want to repeat classes."

"Then, you better get going, it's getting late Ringo said you guys had a test tomorrow." Mikan pointed to the horizon, the sun was slowly setting, painting the sky orange.

"See you, Mikan-san. I hope you use Sky messenger services again." Bowing slightly, the boy walked away into the street as the girl went back into her home. The door closing shut.

Then the door opened abruptly as an annoyed Mikan came out. "I forgot, when you find him, tell that idiot to buy chili pe-" Stopping midway, Noyamano Mikan the Wind God of Sleeping Forest stared at an impossible sight.

Tobi was a classmate of her younger sister and ran a delivery service for the local shops around the city. An orphan who was living on his own in a small apartment and she befriended him a long time ago. Recently she's been using his services a lot mostly because he pays for extra servings and the food was piping hot. So she felt obligated to order more often as a way to help in her own way, the pricing and punctuality of the deliveries were a bonus.

Because of that, her family had become well acquainted with him popping in every now and then. Sometimes asking for tips on his homework with Ringo or Ume. All the time they had interacted with Tobi, he was always deemed normal in her eyes. After all aside from his fast delivery time, the teen was just the run of the mill hard-working student.

So how was the normal middle-schooler jumping through the air?

"Ah, I love this feeling." The wind rushed against Tobi's body as he ran above the dusk covered city. With each step, he would kick the very air using it as steps.

From below he could see various people going to or back home from work, the streets were packed with people. Thankfully no one looked up that often and he was using alleyways. Who knows what people would do to him if they knew he could do this. Maybe a strapped to a dissection table in a government facility

Rushing through the alleyways, he tried to be discreet. Raising his head towards the horizon his eyes watched the skies darkened. "Geppo is amazing." As a teenager, he was an avid reader of shounen jump and within the series One Piece. It was one of the things he was able to afford with his low budget. Through it he read about a technique called Geppo, where people kick the very air to walk upon the sky.

Like any wide-eyed teen, he thought it would be possible to do the same thing and trained. Then one day after intense training in the mountains carrying boulders on his body. He jumped in the sky and kicked off the air right into a tree.

Under him he saw groups of students going about their day, talking about going to arcades, cafes, or just home to relax. A twinge of envy sparked as he looked at them, in his pursuit of learning Geppo and his part-time job. He had ended up sacrificing his social life, he was not ostracized but he was not a part of any inner circles or cliques at school either. Well...he hung out at the Noyamno household a lot, so would that make them his close friends?

The sound of engines roaring reached his ears, bringing him out of his thoughts. Turning to the side he saw another familiar pink-haired girl soaring through the sky. Unlike Mikan, her hair was much longer and the wind flapped around her long white shirt. The googles on her hat protected her eyes from the wind and on her feet were the source of the noise. Mechanized rollerblades called Air Treks or AT for short. "That's Smica san I think?"

The girl worked as a clerk in an AT shop Tobi made deliveries for, they had never interacted before so knew nothing more about her. Jumping away to not be seen he focused on her legs. "I wonder how much she paid for them."

A popular new device these days, they were expensive as hell but people bought them anyway. They were a constant part of the city these days with ads for them around the city, commercials, and online. Even at his school, there were people talking about them and something about a king of the night. Tobi himself had delivered some parts on occasion and overheard the customers saying how amazing riding them make them feel. A common thing they all say was that ATs made them think they had wings. "I can see why people love them but I am not getting one, I could live for weeks without working for one of them."

Simca was soon out of sight and he turned away, the smell of rust entered his nose. He was nearing the warehouse area that his school's gang had claimed as their territory. Ikki was there but his eyes narrowed, the smell of piss and fear lingered followed by soon screams could be heard.

"-it those girls have nothing to do with this." It was Itsuki Minami's voice, Tobi's classmate. Better known as Ikki or crow.

Jumping above the warehouse, he kept himself in the air kicking the air at certain intervals, and looked down at the commotion below through the cracks of the roof.

A black haired teen was being held down by two older people wearing weird purple hooded uniforms with white crosses and masks. A large number of them were spread out around the warehouse carrying iron crosses spiked at the tips and some were threatening some girls who were sitting in a room.

"Those people are-" Tobi had heard about them before on the news, but he had no idea they were in Japan. "Weren't they only based in America or only in western countries?" Their outfits were different but then again maybe it's a new thing to get more members. Reaching into his backpack he pulled out a green helmet with large red eyes.

He could have called the police but they would be too late. Right now action was the answer, he needed to intervene before they set the place on fire and crucify people. But first, he needed a disguise.

For who knows how the Ku Klux Klan would retaliate if they knew his identity.

"Shut it-"

A hole was torn through the roof, the missing section slammed into the men holding down Ikki. Instantly a masked figure appeared by his side in a gust of wind and stood there. Waving his hand the gust changed direction forming a barrier around them.

"Who the fuck are you."

"The fuck is a cosplayer doing here."

"Someone's here to play the hero."

Around them, the hooded criminals glared and mocked the new arrival. While others went to check up on their fallen comrades.

Ikki recognizing the tracksuit voiced his thoughts. "Wait aren't you-"

"I'm just a passing through Kamen Rider." The self-proclaimed hero pointed his finger at a bald-headed figure. Like the others, the bald head person wore the same purple uniform but he did not wear a mask. Instead of a skull mask the there was a skull tattooed to his forehead alongside some piercing. Clearly this was the leader.

"I do not know how you arrived and set your roots her but I am going to destroy you and the rest of your Klansman"

"You think your chuunibyou ass can take on the Skull Saders!" The other members roared and lifted their weapons in their air and slammed them into the ground.

Before the leader could move, a kick was firmly planted in his face sending him flying. The crunching of bones echoed through the building alongside a body crashing against a metal wall and flopping down like a puppet with its strings cut off. Seeing their leader down, the gang members jumped high in the air. On their feet, the masked warrior noticed that all of them were wearing ATs. That explained why Ikki lost, while Ikki was stronger than these criminals their enhanced mobility gave them an edge over the teenage gangster.

In a single leap, the hero was in the air kicking the closest one into the ground head first. The skull mask cracked as it absorbed the majority of the impact.

"You're wide open!" Around him, they readied their spiked crosses to stab, only for him to kick the very air and ascend.

"WHAT THE FUCK!"

"What kind of AT's are those"

Kicking off the air a third time the hero changed directions mid-air and unleashed a roundhouse kick. The attack generated a strong gust of wind that sent the criminals flying like their leaders. Smacking into walls and support pillars, the building shook as the fell unconscious.

The hero never landed on the ground. Continuing to defy gravity he constantly kicked the air to stay afloat throughout the battle.

The wind filled the rusty warehouse, quickly turning into a much stronger gale with each movement. With each attack, the wind continued to build up into a storm. Throwing dust alongside grains of sand, rust, and small objects around the old buildings. It was a miracle the building had not collapsed for it too was starting to shudder.

The girls alongside some of the East Side Guns gang members in the building huddled for cover. But not Ikki, as his hair was ruffled by the wind and dust. He pulled his goggles over his eyes and slowly walked closer.

Something inside him was trying to break free. The wind was calling him, his eyes never left the self-proclaimed Kamen Rider as he battled the storm rider gang.

Unbeknown to him and the green hero, a frightened schoolgirl was recording everything.

"Now that should do it." Smiling under the mask Tobi admired his work. Moonlight shone down upon him through the various holes he made through the roof. Under the largest hole, the criminals he had defeated lied unconscious tied up with metal wires he found lying around.

"Now." A deep enigmatic addressed the group of students he continued "You all should leave, the police will be arriving shortly to take these criminals in."

"Oh shit the police." With that said they left, some of which he recognized from his class. Except for one person. Ikki, the very person Tobi was sent to find in the first place which led to this mess. The teen just walked towards Tobi, his eyes unblinking.

"Did something hit his head, Mikan is going to kill m... No, she would not." The second oldest Noyamano sister would just laugh at her adopted brother's state before making jokes while the youngest Shiraume would poke at him with a stick. Then oldest sister Rika would fuss about his condition before taking him to the hospital. The third oldest sister on the other hand. "Ringo is going to be pissed if I broke her crush."

"Is there something you need?"

"Master" Eh.

"Teach me." The black-haired boy bowed. The crow living in his head peeking out, the wind had died down so it could finally rest in peace.

Faced with the proposition of teaching Ikki, memories of his pranks came to mind. Which spiraled into other thoughts about how his daily life and work would be affected.

Turning away from Ikki, Tobi looked towards the hole in the roof and thought about just running away but that had its own problems. Ikki clearly recognized him.

"I refuse -." 'Because I am terrible at teaching.'.Before Ikki could protest Tobi kept talking "- besides you should go home there are people waiting for you at home. It's getting late, don't make them worry any longer."

"Or your scary adopted sister will come at me." Despite being a cute girl, the red-headed classmate of his Ringo Noyamano always made him feel cautious. It felt as if there was a cold and merciless personality under here that could lash out if he was not careful.

"Wait a minute!"

Jumping through the roof, Tobi grabbed his metal container and backpack before kicking off the air and rushing away from the scene. Leaving behind a screaming Ikki, who watched as the masked hero jumped through the air as if he was flying.

Tobi really should have expected this, sitting up on the roof of his middle school he stared blankly at his assailants. As usual, before dawn, he had made his way to school but before he entered the school compound a familiar small girl with long blueish hair had grabbed him and dragged him towards the roof.

His tiny assailant's white hoodie flapped in the wind as she stood on the guard rails. The sound of metal clinking ever so softly could be heard in her sleeves as usual. He never could tell how many things she hid in her sleeves. On her feet were the Air Treks but they felt far more powerful than the ones the criminals were using. Her two sisters who stared at him across the roof wore Air Treks too but they felt different. One felt like the wind while the other made him think of thorns.

The one wearing the thorn-like ATs was a familiar redhead but she was without her usual glasses. Despite it being a school day his classmate was not wearing her uniform instead she was wearing a blue coat with an orange and white stripe which she left open revealing her white shirt underneath. Then to finish off the look she wore matching pants and a cool beanie hat with goggles.

"Um… Ringo-san did I do something to offend you?"

"No not really Tobi san. We've known each other for a long time to know your not a threat. So rest assured we are not here to attack you." Nodding his head, he eyed the door only for it to be blocked by a familiar pink-haired girl who should be in her own high school. Wait now that he got a good look at her, what was Mikan wearing.

She was in a jumpsuit and a cool looking hat but the top half of it was out revealing a black bra she was wearing. Before Tobi could voice his thoughts Ringo kept talking. "I'm sorry about this but we were asked to bring you here."

Leaning against the guard rails, Tobi eyed the two giant water tanks on the roof.

"Well ok… but you could have just asked." Turning back towards Ringo he wondered if she wanted to interrogate him because of what happened to her crush.

"The request was pretty sudden, hope you aren't too shaken by this." The girl would normally be apologetic but right now she kinda had the air of a leader.

"I am not sure what is happening right now. I'm so confused and I have a lot of questions. Like why is Mikan san and Ume san doing here? They don't even go to this school."

Tobi left out the part of asking what they were wearing. The teen felt like that was a gateway to a whole different set of problems which he had no intention of tackling so early in the morning.

Said girls just regarded him with a neutral expression and neither answered. "Also is the person who wanted to meet that pretty boy over there."

"Interesting, you noticed me. 70 points" A young-looking young man clad in a sharp white suit walked out between the pillars. His silver hair gleaming from the rays of the rising sun. The face looked familiar to Tobi but he could not put his finger on it.

"There's this weird feeling around you so it's kinda hard to not notice."

"Oh, what kind of feeling do you get?"

"I think it's the vibrations of your feet… what are you wearing?"

The young man tilted his head and gestured to his feet. Unlike the Air Treks the sisters were wearing these ones were constantly vibrating and the air surrounding the man felt a bit thicker. He could feel the vibrations rolling through the floor like a sonar system.

"You can sense the vibrations interesting. Ah, how terribly rude of me. I have yet to introduce myself." It must have been a trick of the light but for a brief instant, Tobi could have sworn he saw crosses in that man's eyes. "My name is Kilik and I have come to meet you, Tobi. A person whose wings have spread wide and achieved what many deemed to be impossible."

"This feels like an anime plot and I am going to be late… wait I'm already at school."

Pulling out a tablet, the silver-haired man scrolled to an online article. Tobi's eyes widened as he read it.

The title read: Kamen Rider vs Skull Saders

It was a long article full of theories and people complaining about the accuracy of the article but what really drew his eyes was a video of him bounding through the air and kicking Klan members in the face.

Author notes: This is a story I've been planning on writing for a while. Honestly, there was not much of an end goal when I started writing. It was just something fun I wanted to do on a what-if idea that someone in Air Gear read the One Piece manga and went huh Moonwalk sounds fun. Then one day I actually wrote it, it was just a random idea I talked with friends and I somehow ended up writing it. I started talking about this idea with a few friends and one of them Amvmaster helped me greatly. In the end, he wrote his own fic and I wrote this one. We compare notes and he helped me write this. So if you like reading this why don't you try giving his story a try. It's called Nevermore on and he got much further than me.
