National Fairytale Day
FanOfMost asked for a oneshot of Snowing and Henry celebrating National Fairytale Day and being really into it. Emma rolls her eyes at it, but is really enjoying seeing them all so happy.
Guys, we made it. Happy Once day! It's back!
Important: As usual with new episode day, please remember to give me a spoiler with any requests related to the new episode, as I'll definitely be on emails before I get to watch. Thanks guys.
Emma sat at the booth furthest into the corner and watched her crazy family as they hung up bunting and other such decorations. She had given a half-heartened attempt to help, but after her mother told her several times to just keep moving the main banner just an inch this way or that, Emma snuck off into the corner to "oversee" the decorating instead, as well as watch over Neal. Henry had overheard on one of these kids news shows that it was to be National Fairytale Day on Thursday. It was said at the end of the news segment, the light-heartened, jokey thing to end on. But to Henry, of course, it had a much more meaningful stance. National Fairytale Day was a way for the people of Storybrooke to celebrate where they came from. This day was all about them, whether the rest of the world knew it or not. Emma thought it was growing arms and legs now though. It had started with just the family having a meal together in celebration, and had now ended with a whole town party at Granny's. Not that Emma could say she was really surprised. Of course a lot of the townspeople wanted to celebrate the day. Even if some claimed to be doing it ironically.
Sure, celebrating National Fairytale Day was never going to be something that had Emma jumping up and down with excitement, but she saw how happy it made her family. She saw her parents getting all gooey with each other, dancing around to the slow music from the jukebox (Emma would pretend to be disgusted by such displays of affection, but in reality she found the sight rather heart-warming). Henry was enjoying his role as chief party planner. Especially since he got to boss the grownups about. Emma was delighted to see him flourishing in such a way. Emma looked down at her baby brother in her arms. He grinned back at her, his toothless little smile melting her heart all the more. She stroked a finger gently down Neal's cheek, sighing contently. Yeah, she had it good.
