Still fighting

Jade Star asked for a oneshot of *season 6 spoilers!* Snow and Belle bonding as mothers when they help a gravely wounded Emma and Gideon recover after defeating the Black Fairy.

Guest: *season 6 spoilers* Yes, I'm aware Neal would still be there. But as she had lost her child, in ways, she would still be childless. I though saying that on its own without going "childless-but she still has Neal so it's all good-" sounded better.

Important: Happy Once day! As usual, if you have requests based on tonight's episode, great! All that I ask is that you give me a spoiler warning so that I don't accidentally read it before I get a chance to watch the episode :)

Gideon was at least conscious…some of the time. Emma was not. Not yet, anyway. The fight had been a brutal one. Neither side had come off well. The only positive being that nobody had gotten killed. Emma and Gideon had been the worst injured. Everyone else was on the road to recovery, two weeks after the battle. The pair of them were not. They were still in intensive care, fighting for their lives.

With the two being in rooms right beside each other, it was inevitable that the parents of each would bump into each other during visiting switch overs and runs to get supplies. Snow and Belle, in particular, seemed to keep meeting each other. They would share the other's highs and lows. It gave Snow and Charming both comfort to have someone else who could share their pain, their worry, their faint hope. It was excruciating to sit and watch your child lie day after day in a hospital bed, never knowing if they would wake up or not. Snow and Charming were finding it difficult to balance having someone there for Emma with looking after Neal and making sure Henry was ok. Belle helped with that. If there were ever any times were Snow and Charming were just stretched too thin to be able to have someone in with Emma for a couple of hours, Belle would promise to keep checking in on her. In return, Snow and Charming would do the same for Belle with Gideon whenever she needed it. They at least had each other to lean on in such a difficult time. The Black Fairy may be defeated, but this battle was far from over.
