Chapter 1: Crossing the Pond.
Drake was cornered fighting some Huntsclan Soldiers in Central Park. He kept blasting Fire at them. " This is getting crazy." He said striking them with a Flame whip. " I could totally use Jake or Justin's help right now."
Brooklyn was on patrol with Lexington and Angela. So far everything seemed fair and decent, until the red gargoyle heard sounds of fighting coming from Central Park.
"What's going on?" Lex asked curiously. Brooklyn frowned as he heard roaring as well. They had to check it out, and make sure nobody got hurt.
"I dunno, but I have a feeling somebody needs our help," Brooklyn responded back, and Angela looked worried.
"I hope it isn't my mother again, not after she tried destroying humanity with that potion vial a week ago," she said in a nervous voice. Brooklyn also hoped it wasn't Demona. He hoped for a week break from fighting her.
As the three gargoyles soared above a clearing, Brooklyn stared in shock at a dragon fighting off some pretty evil looking guys. His eyes narrowed, and glowed as he charged down in to help, landing on one of the goons and tackling him to the ground. Lex and Angela followed suit.
" Are we related?" Drake asked. His face exactly the same as Brooklyn's. Also like Brooklyn he's Scales are for the most part red, while his underbelly is Vermillion, his wings big enough to fold over his shoulders like a cape, his spine has a flame shaped ridge, his hair is Short wild and gold, and he wore a pair of olive Kakhi Cargo Shorts, and was shirtless. " can you three lend a talon to Dragon in need of Backup?"
"We heard you in trouble, so guess we can help you out," Brooklyn replied back after taking out two more of the Huntsclan soldiers, while Angela picked one up, and flew off with him, throwing him into a tree, and Lexington pounced on one. But then another soldier snuck up behind Lexington and grabbed him, because he was smaller and held him tight, making the green gargoyle cry out in pain, but Brooklyn and Angela were caught up in their own battles, unable to help him.
Drake made a Pyrokinetic Whip, which wrapped around the Huntsclan Soldier that was pinning Lexington and pulled the man off, and towards himself punching soldier in the face. " You okay, my friend." He said. Breathing Fire at another. " Why don't you guys use your Breath Elements?" He asked.
"Uh, we aren't actually dragons, kid. We're gargoyles," Brooklyn replied, after he and Angela took out the last of the goons.
" I thought Gargoyles went extinct?" Drake said. " I'm Drake." The young Dragon said. " Thanks for your help those jerks have been a problem for Dragons for centuries."
" No problem. Name's Brooklyn, and this is Lexington and Angela. We'll explain everything back at our home," Brooklyn responded back, still wondering where this dragon kid even came from in the first place.
" Sorry, guys I really can't I have to get back to my Grandpa's place." Drake said. " Maybe tomorrow night." He added opening his wings you guys need a talon getting airborne?" He asked.
"Guess it couldn't hurt, we don't see much room around to jump off of, anyway, if it isn't too much trouble for you if you need to get back to your grandpa," Brooklyn said, after doing a quick look around their area.
Drake heated the air to give the trio an up draft and lift them to where they could find a strong enough Wind Currents to glide upon. " If you want you can meet him and my cousin." He said joining them.
Brooklyn nodded. "As long as we're back before sunrise," he told the boy dragon as they glided along the rooftops.
" No problem." They landed on a rooftop. " This way please." He said. Opening a door. " Grandpa, Fu Dog, Jake I'm home and I brought some Company!" He called.
Brooklyn studied the people in front of him that included an elderly man in robes, another boy with spiky hair, and a dog that appeared to be walking on its hind legs.
Okay, this is something that'll be hard to explain to Goliath later, the red gargoyle thought to himself. But they didn't seem too hostile. The elder man was smiling, and the other boy looked pretty chill.
" Jake when did you get back from patrol?" Drake asked his Cousin. " And where we'd you when the Huntsclan attacked me?" He added.
While Drake was yelling at Jake, Brooklyn suddenly noticed another man there in the room, wearing long elegant robes, and had a long white beard wearing half moon spectacles, watching the three gargoyles with interest.
" Grandpa, Is that who think it is?" Drake asked. " Fu Dog did you mess with my Chocolate Frog Cards again?" He added.
"No, he didn't young one, for I'm really here, and are those gargoyles with you?" Dumbledore then questioned, as Brooklyn, Lex, and Angela gazed at one another questioningly. Who was this strange old man? And why was he here?
" They were last time I checked." Drake said. " These are Brooklyn, Lexington and Angela." He said.
" Ah, a pleasure, I'm sure," Dumbledore responded, bowing his head to them. Brooklyn could feel a strange kind of magic radiating from this mysterious man.
"I thought that you were all extinct from a History of Magic. How did you survive?" Dumbledore then asked. Brooklyn felt rather nervous, but ended up explaining.
"The Magus cast a spell on my Clan that had us frozen for a thousand years until the castle rose above the clouds. Xanatos was the one who brought us out of it and we've lived here ever since."
" So what brings the Headmaster of one of the most prestigious Wizard Schools on the planet?" Drake asked.
" I've arrived with a proposition. I don't know if you've heard of the recent defeat of a Dark Wizard named Voldemort?" Dumbledore asked Drake and the gargoyles.
" Who hasn't?" Drake he asked.
" So what's the problem." He asked.
" That night he tried to kill the boy, Harry Potter, the curse rebounded off of him after Lily sacrificed herself to save him. I think he isn't dead despite what media says, and I had been talking with your grandpa to see if you and perhaps your friend Brooklyn here can be temporary guardians for young Harry Potter when he goes to Hogwarts until we know for sure that Voldemort won't return," Dumbledore offered. Brooklyn was rather stunned. Him? A guardian to a small magic child? He didn't know if he could believe it!
Hang on, I need to make a call." Drake said. He took out his phone and dailed up his Maternal Uncle Jerry Russo.
The End...
