"I'm pretty sure that was aimed directly at me." A blond-haired boy yelled at his friends. Anyone that happened to be listening to them would think that they were doing a training drill. They were, just not the type of training that most would suspect from Ninjago's heroes. Each ninja was concentrating on the goal directly ahead of them, which just so happened to be a video game on a TV screen.

"It so was not! You just need to know your surroundings better!" Kai bumped into Lloyd to try to distract him. Lloyd chuckled but kept his focus on the screen.

"You most likely just mistook one of the weapons of the enemy as one of ours."

The blond rolled his eyes and countered, "You guys are the enemies. Your weapons are the enemies' weapons." The ninja continued shooting at Lloyd. He retaliated by shooting back at as many of them as he could.

"Took you long enough to realize that. We definitely haven't been attacking you for the past three rounds." The sarcastic response that rolled off Cole's tongue got chuckles out of the other boys.

Nya did not appreciate listening to the boys bicker back and forth. "Remind me again why you guys have decided to spend the afternoon wasting away in front of the television playing video games? I don't see what you could possibly be getting from this experience." The water ninja held a blade within her hand, studiously sharpening it. The sound of the metal rubbing against the whetstone became seemingly lost in the sound of the video game. The boys kept their eyes forward, leaving Nya's question unanswered. Nya waited for a few moments before she set her blade down. She walked to her boyfriend then knocked on his forehead with more force than was necessary. "Um, hello? Is anyone home?"

Jay flinched before quietly answering, "We're supposed to be concentrating on one thing while being aware of our surroundings as well. It seemed like a good idea…" The glare that Nya threw at his direction was sharper than the sword on the table. "When we started, at least," He grinned sheepishly and turned to the other ninja, "Maybe we should do something else. This isn't working like we thought it would."

It took a few seconds but Nya did not miss the groans that came from the other boys once they realized what Jay was getting at. She rolled her eyes before muttering, "You guys definitely should do something more productive." She put her sword and whetstone away before turning towards the other ninja. "I'll see you dorks later. I'm headed out." Jay waved goodbye to her. Nya's footsteps echoed as she walked away.

Kai looked in the direction that his sister had gone before looking towards the ninja. "Not being protective or anything, but does anyone know where she's going?"

All eyes landed on Jay before he started to nod. His cheeks dusted pink while he said, "She's off to meet up with Skylor and Seliel. They were going to shop or do something equally as boring. She said so this morning."

"Why would she tell you but none of the rest of us? And Skylor never said anything about it." Kai gave Jay an incredulous look. Jay only shrugged in response.

"We should put this away and start some physical training." Zane said, getting up to put his controller away. The remaining ninja turned off the video game console and stacked their controllers in a cabinet.

"I don't want to stay on the ship and just train." Cole sighed before his eyes lit up, "We should go to a park and cheer up some kids!" When nobody protested, Cole loudly proclaimed, "Last one there is the worst ninja!"

The boys pushed around each other to make it to the deck of the ship first. The crisp, cool breeze rustled the boys' hair, leaving an energy of excitement in the air. They each sprinted to the edge of the boat, jumping off without a second thought. One might think that teenage boys jumping off a flying ship would be reckless or even deadly. And it would be, except these teenage boys could summon dragons to fly on.

The irony of Kai being the last ninja to arrive was lost in all of the commotion currently going on in the park that they landed by. Kids were swarming a single person, though nobody could tell exactly who she was. The ninja did not recognize her. She stood out with her pale complexion and light-colored hair with electric blue tips. As the ninja approached the crowd, they heard kids all asking questions. "Why is your hair so different?" One kid shouted above the rest.

The teenage girl standing in the center of the hoard of children gave a small chuckle and proceeded to answer the odd question, "My hair was a gift from a fairy princess."

All of the kids gasped and widened their eyes, being typical awestruck kids.

"Really? There's no such thing!" Another kid claimed, fully in disbelief.

"You're right. I'm only joking. I haven't ever met a fairy princess. And I don't know why my hair is this color, but I think it accents my neon green eyes pretty well." The girl looked up and saw an even bigger crowd forming with more adults. A look of panic crossed her face before quickly being replaced with a calm façade. "Well, I really must be going. I've got lots of places to see around the area." Many of the kids sighed in disappointment. "I'm sorry, kiddos. I'm sure you'll see me around. I'm kinda hard to miss." She laughed while pointing to her hair. She ducked her head and started to weave her way through the crowd, muttering quick apologies to anyone she bumped into.

"I wonder what's up with her," Kai thought aloud, keeping his attention on the mysterious girl to track where she was headed.

The other ninja shared glances with each other, wanting to talk to the blue-haired girl. They waited a few minutes before walking towards her at one of the swing sets on the edge of the park. Zane waved, greeting her. "Hello there. I have not seen you around here before. My name is Zane and these are my brothers. Cole, Kai, Jay, and Lloyd." The ninjas each waved as Zane said their names.

People in the park continued looking at the girl with caution. She spoke softly, giving Zane a weary glance, "Hi. It is, uh, nice to meet you guys." She said shyly, not so subtly analyzing them. "Excuse me for pointing this out, but you all look nothing alike. It's rather confusing to refer to yourself as brothers, don't you think?"

Lloyd quirked his eyebrow, a slight frown appearing on his lips. "We aren't brothers by blood but brothers by bond. It can be confusing." He turned the conversation back to questioning the girl. "You seemed to attract quite the crowd. Why are you here in the middle of the park?"

The girl sighed and said, "You wouldn't believe me if I told you."

Kai snorted. "Try us."

"I woke up on a bench. It was over by where all the people are. I have no recollection of how I got there. I got a glance at myself in a store window and the only thing that I know about myself is that my hair isn't blonde anymore, it's silvery-white with electric blue tips and my forest green eyes are now neon green. It's quite the contrast, if I do say so myself." She gave a grim smile in the boys' direction.

The ninja gave looks of disbelief and were surprised when Zane said, "I believe you."

"Zane! You can't just be so blunt and forward!" Cole exclaimed. Zane shrugged and kept his gaze on the girl.

Zane shook his head. "Except I can. My sensors are reading her aura as different than a normal citizen in New Ninjago City. She is not from around here. I think I could accurately make the assumption that she is not from Ninjago at all." The girl kept her lips in a tight line.

Kai didn't want to believe it. He gave her a skeptical look before asking, "Are you sure that you have absolutely no idea how you got here or your past?"

She nodded before wearily saying, "The only thing that I remember is that my name is Nicole June Vang and my basic physical appearance before I woke up here. And somehow I can make things happen that aren't supposed to."

Kai glanced towards Zane. "Any idea on how that works, Zane?"

"You can't just expect Zane to know everything!" Jay griped.

There was silence. The ninja of ice lowered his head and took a few moments to think. Nobody moved until Zane tilted his head upwards moments later. "I'm not sure. I think that we should consult Sensei on this one. He would know about that subject more than any of the rest of us would."

Nicole tensed. She shook her head and said, "I don't think I should be going anywhere." She then continued to mutter, "This is probably all just a dream and I'll wake up and know that none of this is real. I can see a therapist and keep working on coping mechanisms for my anxiety. It'll be okay. It'll all be a-okay." Nicole lightly swung her legs to get momentum started on the swing. She was taking deep breaths, as her therapist had instructed her to do, to try to keep herself from hyperventilating.

"If only Nya were here. She's good at convincing people to do things. Why did she have to go hang out with Skylor and Seliel?" Cole questioned, though nobody was paying him much attention. All of their focus was on Nicole. She continued to swing, not noticing that the grass around her started to die and turn brown. The ninja in the vicinity were shocked.

Lloyd glanced at Nicole. He inhaled sharply when he noticed that there was a small purple aura surrounding Nicole, that was now quickly fading. "Is that what you meant by making things happen that aren't supposed to?" He asked while pointing to the ground by Nicole's feet.

Nicole took an intake of breath as she glanced to where the blond had pointed. She nodded her head slowly in Lloyd's direction. "I don't understand how I do it. I freak out and try to calm myself, then the next thing I know, some plant is dead or set on fire or something else of the sorts." She stopped herself on the swing, causing a small dust cloud to rise from where she placed her feet on the ground.

"I have a small idea on what is happening but I really think that you should talk with Sensei Wu before any of us jump to conclusions. He knows a fair amount about weird things that happen. We can have you come back to the Destiny's Bounty with us." Lloyd declared, gesturing to the direction of the ship in the sky.

Nicole gave a shy nod. "If you really think that would be for the best. I don't have anywhere else to go."

"That settles it. Let's head back and have Sensei see if he can figure out what's up with you." Jay stated.

Nicole stood from the swing and looked to the ninja to signal them to start walking. "I sure hope you guys aren't kidnappers." She chuckled with a tiny smile gracing her features.

Lloyd frowned while he stared at her and thought, 'I don't trust her.' But his heart traitorously skipped a beat.

This is the start to a story that I've had sitting in my head for the past few years. I've been meaning to post it for a while, I only haven't had the want to post it yet because I'm not sure if it will be liked or read. But here is to hoping that at least one person enjoys it. Thanks for reading!
