Stolen trust

Jimmyrachellover asked for a oneshot of *6x12 spoilers!* Emma going to her dad about her potion set being stolen. She thinks it was Gideon. Charming confesses that he took it. Emma doesn't take it well that her father stole from her.

"Emma I can't help you if you don't stop and tell me what's wrong." Charming once again pointed out to his daughter. Emma was going to wear a hole in the carpet if she kept this up. She'd been pacing back and forth for a good ten minutes solid, refusing to stop and tell her dad what the problem was. Eventually, Charming had enough. He was worried about her. He gently took hold of her elbow and stopped her. "Emma." He said gently. "Tell me what's wrong." Emma sighed.

"Gideon." Emma spat. "He broke into my shed. He must have known that's where I keep most of my magic. He's stolen some of it. I keep tabs on my stock so I know Henry hasn't taken some to do something silly. I know it's been taken. I just don't know what he wants it for and it's stressing me." Emma admitted. Charming felt awful. He couldn't lie to her. He couldn't let Emma think Gideon had her magic ingredients and was potentially going to use them against her. He had to come clean. Emma could see her dad had something to say. "What?" She asked him. "What's wrong dad?" Charming couldn't even look at Emma as he told her.

"Emma, Gideon didn't take your magic…I did." Charming decided it was best not to land Killian in this with him as well. After all, he had only helped Charming because he had heavily convinced him. Emma's eyes widened with shock. She took her arm back from her dad.

"You." Emma said quietly. "You stole from me?"

"It wasn't like that." Charming said quickly. "I just didn't want to worry you. I can see now I went about that the wrong way. I needed some things to help find out some new information about my dad. I found it, Emma. He didn't die a drunk in a ditch. He died a hero, trying to save James." Charming took Emma's shoulders in his hands. He couldn't take the fact that he had hurt her.

"Emma, sweetheart. I am so sorry if I've upset you. I honestly didn't mean to. You just had so much to worry about that I didn't want to add this to your plate…"

"Don't." Emma said, clearly upset. Charming stopped talking. "Don't use Gideon as an excuse. You didn't tell me because you knew I'd try and talk you out of it." Charming still stayed silent. "That's what I thought." Emma wriggled out of her dad's grasp. "I need some air."

"Emma, wait-"

"No." Emma said, not even turning around. "I trusted you in a way I've never trusted anyone else. Not even mom, and this is how you repay me? I need to think." Charming let Emma go, seeing that now wasn't the time to go after her. He sat down at the island, kicking himself. Why hadn't he just been straight with her from the beginning?
