Perfection

avc.382 asked for a oneshot of some fluff between Charming, Emma and Neal.

Charming lived for days like these. He loved spending the day with his kids. The only thing that could have made it any better was Snow and Henry being there, but both of them were on a whole school trip to a local farm to help with picking berries. It was such a beautiful day and the dwarves had offered to help out at the station. So Charming took the opportunity to make a picnic for his kids and take them to a secluded spot in the woods, just the three of them.

It was such a beautiful location. The river could be heard trickling away nearby. The birds were twittering in the trees overhead. The sun shone warmly through the tree branches with just enough breeze to keep them cool. Yeah, this was the life.

Charming was always proud of his kids. To him, they were both so perfect. Emma was so beautiful. So like her mother, but so like him too. The perfect blend of them both. His smile made his day brighten up much more than the sun ever could. Emma was his sunshine, and she always would be.

Neal was beginning to laugh more and more now. It delighted Charming that his funny faces seemed to make him laugh more than anybody else's. His eyes sparked with what Charming knew would soon be mischief as he was up and about, crawling and then eventually walking. Neal was growing up far too fast for Charming's liking. He just hoped he would raise him right. He was doing the best he could. What Charming did know was, whatever path his son went down as he grew up, he was going to make his old man proud. How could Charming not be proud of his little chip off the block? He was so handsome already, and so smart. Yeah, Charming knew that one day, this little boy was going to make a fine man.

Charming loved watching both Emma and Neal interact together. They brought out the best in each other, and in him. Neal brought down Emma's walls completely, and Charming could see that Emma encouraged Neal to explore his environment more. She was making her baby brother into a little adventure buddy. Charming couldn't be any prouder of either of his kids if he tried.

Later that evening, before Snow and Henry returned, he had settled down with Emma and Neal to watch Shrek. The day's adventure had tired them both out, and before Charming knew it, he had Neal asleep in one arm and Emma asleep cuddled into the other. Not that Charming minded. Nah, to him, cuddled up with his two precious children was the perfect end to the perfect day.
