Back at the start- part 2
snoopykid asked for a oneshot of a sequel to Ch2378 "Back at the start" where Emma snaps at her mom when she gets her home for making her go soft and making her care about people. She had never had to worry about that before. Like, how Snow made her realise her feelings about Graham.
Guest: Sorry, but that was over 100 chapters ago.
Important: Happy Once Day! As usual, if you have a request based around tonight's episode, great! All that I ask is that you give me a spoiler warning :).
The rest of the walk home was completed in an awkward silence. Snow just didn't know what to say to Emma just now. Any proper conversation was best left until tomorrow, when Emma was properly sober. Until then, all Snow could do for her daughter was make sure she got home safe and had some water and paracetamol for the hangover ahead.
"Have a glass before you go to bed." Snow told Emma quietly. "It will make things easier for you tomorrow. A slice of white bread too, if you have any." Emma didn't even nod as she fumbled forward up the steps towards her front door. Snow watched her carefully, worried she would fall. Snow would have brought Emma back to their house, but she knew Emma would have protested too much. It took Emma a few minutes, but she eventually got the door unlocked. Snow was just about to wish her a good night, when Emma piped up.
"This is all your fault, you know." Emma suddenly snapped. Snow was taken aback?
"My fault?" She asked. She didn't understand. She had always supported Emma's relationship with Killian. She had played no part, that she could see, in him leaving. "How is it my fault that Killian left?"
"Not that he left!" Emma suddenly shouted, whirling round on the spot and pointing an accusing finger at her mom. "That I let my damn walls down far enough to let him get to me in the first place!" Snow didn't know how to respond to that. Was she supposed to feel guilty about getting her daughter to open up? "You made me soft. You forced me bring my walls down and start to care about people. You insisted that I confront my feelings. Well look what good it's done me!" Emma yelled before collapsing onto her knees on her porch. Yes, apparently Snow was meant to feel guilty. She didn't take it personally though. She understood that Emma was just angry and needed someone to blame. Since Killian had vanished into thin air, Snow took the hit. She climbed the stairs to Emma and held her tightly in her arms, wishing her pain would go away.
