Not a good idea
CharmingsDaughter asked for a oneshot of *6x15 spoilers!* Charming getting protective over Emma going out drinking with Regina instead of giving in.
I have seen the latest episode!
Guest: I'm gonna need you to narrow those down and pick one.
Guest: I've already covered Emma being forced into defeating the Black Fairy.
"Whatever spell that is, I don't want it. I'm seriously not in the mood for magic right now." Emma quickly told Regina. Regina looked a little offended.
"Who said anything about magic?" She responded innocently. Regina then unfurled what Emma thought was the piece of parchment.
"Two for one drinks at the new pub that just opened." Regina explained. "We need a girls' night."
"You really think cheap liquor is the way to go here?" Charming asked sceptically.
"Yes." Regina responded simply. She then looked back at Emma. "I think it's the perfect solution. You, me and Snow."
"Well, in case you've forgotten, there's the whole sleeping curse thing so mom's sleeping." Emma said sarcastically. She wasn't in the mood for a night out.
"She doesn't have to be." Regina replied, giving Charming a pointed look. Charming folded his arms across his chest, leaning back against his desk.
"I've already said I don't think this is a good idea." Charming said, putting his foot down. "Emma's hurting. Hurting people and alcohol don't make a good mix, not in my experience." Charming pointed out. Regina rolled her eyes.
"Emma's a big girl, I'm sure she can handle her drink." Regina told him. "Besides, Snow and I will be there-"
"Only if I wake her up." Charming reminded Regina. "It's not about me not thinking Emma can handle her drink, it's about thinking it's not the best thing for her to be doing." Charming then gave Regina a curious look. "No offence Regina, but is this maybe more about you than Emma? After all, you've just lost a second chance with Robin. You're bound to be feeling emotional yourself…"
"This isn't about me or Robin." Regina snapped, beginning to get angry. "This is about Emma. I thought you'd want her to be able to let her hair down and have a good time." Charming didn't take too kindly to Regina insinuating that he didn't care about Emma's emotional wellbeing. Meanwhile Emma was just stood between the two. Every time she tried to butt in they talked over her.
"Funnily enough, the idea of my daughter and my wife being at some pub that I've never heard of let alone been to when I can't even be awake to help if needed makes me uneasy. Especially when Emma's emotional. No, I don't like this and don't think it's the best way to help Emma right now." Charming walked over and placed his hand on Emma's back. "Thanks for your concern, Regina, but I can help my daughter more than some cheap booze can. Isn't that right Emma?" Emma remained silent. "Emma?" Charming asked her. Emma shuffled uncomfortably.
"It's not that I don't think you can help me more than booze can, I know you can…it's just, right now, I could use a distraction. A girls' night sounds like a good distraction." Emma explained. Charming ignored Regina's smug smile. He still didn't like this. He sighed.
"Emma…" Emma placed her hand on her dad's chest.
"Please." She asked, looking up at him. "I promise I'll be careful." Emma smiled at him. She felt guilty, she knew she was playing dirty. She knew her dad found it hard to say no when she smiled like this. "Besides, I'll have mom with me…as long as you go wake her up." Charming really didn't like this. If something happened to either of them while they were out, he wouldn't be able to help. He knew Emma was hurting, and he wished he could convince her to come home and eat a whole tub of ice cream with him instead of this. What if someone tried to hit on her? Emma was vulnerable right now. She might make some…dangerous decisions.
"I won't let anything happen to her, or Snow." Regina promised sincerely. "Believe it or not, I care about them. We're family." Charming sighed again, hugging Emma and kissing the top of her head.
"You promise me you'll be careful?" He asked her. Emma nodded.
"Promise." She assured him.
"Well alright then." Charming relented. "I'll wake Snow up, she'll want to know about all this anyway." Emma hugged her dad back.
"Thanks dad." She said. "I really appreciate this."
"No problem, Em." Charming told her. He pulled back, framing Emma's face with his hands. "I just wish I could make this all better for you." Emma shrugged, the emotion becoming a little too much.
"Well, this is a good start. I need to move on." Emma told him. Charming nodded, letting her go so he could go wake Snow. He just hoped Emma didn't move on too quickly.
