I'm sooooo sorry that it took me so long to make this second chapter, I've been really busy with school and things going on at home. I promise I'll update every Sunday and Wednesday. Thank you so much for reading my stories. R&R!
The next week went by fast and soon me and Bella were getting ready to go to school. Since Bella had visited way more than I had, she filled me in on some information. She told me about people around town, places, and about our work (Me and Bella worked in the sporting goods store). Too soon we had to go to school.
At 7 am, my alarm woke me up. I groaned and rolled over to turn it off. I sat up and rubbed my face really hard to try and wake up. I looked over and saw that Bella was already up, and from what I could hear, she was in shower. I sighed and got up. I had taken a shower last night and had woken with my hair still a little damp and in waves.
I hadn't planned any outfit for the first day of school, so I searched my dresser for something that would make an impression. At my other school, I might have had a bad image but everybody knew me as the 'Queen of Mean' and I owned it. This is the only way to hide my past and I wanted to keep it up. That required me to start with my outfit choices.
I picked black ripped jeans with a white tank top that showed a sliver of my stomach. I paired that with my infamous black leather jacket and my Doc Martens. For my makeup, I had light mascara with eyeliner. My lips were painted with a blood red that made my skin look almost white. On my already pale face was a small bruise on my cheek that was beginning to fade. The swelling had gone down days before, but I could still picture the face of the person who done this to me. I scowled, not wanting to ruin the day.
After fussing with my hair for a bit, I just decided to leave it in waves down my back. I put on one of my black cross earring on my right ear and a black diamond stud on the left ear. I debated if I should wear my nose ring or not. I finally said fuck it and put in my small diamond nose stud. I was downstairs drinking coffee and eating a banana, I heard Bella finally get out of the shower.
I was finishing my coffee when I heard a loud curse and Bella rushing around our room. I went upstairs to check on her, on instinct. I walked in the room with Bella on her knees looking under her bed for something.
"Bella?" I asked. She sat up with her shoes in her hand and gave me a triumphant smile. I laughed "Is that what you were cursing about?" Bella nodded and rushed to put on her shoes. I checked the time on my phone and saw that we had 20 minutes until school started. I told Bella to meet me at the truck and I rushed downstairs. I grabbed my backpack and Bella's and ran to the truck. I slid into the passenger seat and put the keys in the ignition. Bella ran out seconds later with her jacket in hand. She opened her mouth to speak and I pointed to her backpack. She gave me a smile and we left.
There were definitely a few stares and I just winked at them and smirked. They looked shocked; they probably have never been around someone like me. I laughed and Bella gave me a big smile. The day dragged on until lunch finally came. I don't ever eat lunch-at home or at school- so I skipped the line and looked for Bella.I found her sitting with two girls and two boys. I decided to leave her to her new friends and ducked out of view before she waved me the far corner of the cafeteria, standing, I inspected the rest of the people there.
Nobody really caught my eye, until my eyes fell upon a table full of pale students. Upon closer inspection they had golden eyes; with most of them having dark hair and only two having wheat colored hair. They were obviously siblings, but the wheat colored hair girl was holding hands with the bigger of the two dark haired guys. The wheat haired colored boy and a dark haired girl with a pixie cut were holding hands as well. The only one who wasn't holding hands was the smaller of the two dark haired guys. They were pale, a shade paler than me. It looked almost unnatural, as if they were made of stone.
As if sensing I was staring the boy with the wheat colored hair turned in his seat and found her eyes. She smirked and turned away. She found Bella's table again and sat down next to her. Bella, already knowing it was her, didn't even glance her way. The rest of the table though, stared asking a silent question. Bella shook her head, laughing.
"This is my twin sister, Teagan." Bella spoke. They continued to stare before a boy with hair down to his chin and a goofy grin that told me he talked a lot, held out his hand.
"I'm Eric, This is Jessica," He looked at a girl seated to his right. "That's my girlfriend, Angela. And this is Mike." He spoke, looking at each person as he said their name. Angela smiled politely and Jessica just smiled. Mike said nothing.
"You look different than your dad or Bella"Eric said. I laughed "Yeah, my eyes and hair are from who knows who." My caramel colored hair and storm blue eyes were way different than both of my parents and Bella.
My last class of the day was history, Bella was in biology so I didn't know anybody in this class. I looked around hoping to see one of Bella's friends. I sighed and took a seat alone in the back. I took out my phone and headphones and put on mine and Bella's favorite song. It was a random song we came across when we were having a sleepover together a year a two ago. This was not the kind of music I listen to, but for Bella I would.
How long have you been smiling?
It seems like it's been too long
Some days I don't feel like trying
So what the fuck are you on
Whoa, ohh
I think to much, we drink to much
Falling in love like it's just nothing
I want to know where do we go
When nothing's wrong
'Cause all the kids are depressed
Nothing ever makes sense
I'm not feeling all right
Staying up 'til sunrise
And hoping shit is ok
Pretending we know things
I don't know what happened
My natural reaction is that we're scared
Ohh-oh-oh
Noo-no-no
Ohh-oh-oh...
In the middle of the song, I felt something move the desk and looked up. In front of my desk was the boy with the golden eyes. I shut my phone off and put my phone and my headphones away. I finally looked up at the boy again. He gave me a small smile and asked:"Is anyone sitting there?" He pointed to the seat next to had a southern accent and made him sound older than he looks. I shook my head and moved my bag.
Once he sat down and got his textbook and notebook out he looked over at me again."I'm Jasper, Jasper Hale." I didn't speak for a full minute and just stared. Jasper chuckled and that snapped me out of whatever state I was in.
"Sorry, I'm Teagan Swan" I told him quickly. "Swan? Are you related to Isabella?" He asked.
"Yeah, she's my younger twin sister." Jasper shook his head. "I would have never guessed, you guys look different."
"I get that a lot." I laughed.
The class dragged on, with me stealing glances at Jasper and him laughing every time he caught me. When class ended, I grabbed my bag and made for the door. Jasper called my name and I turned.
"I'll see you tomorrow, can we talk in class tomorrow?" Jasper asked. I gave him a small smile and nodded. Standing outside the classroom was the girl with the pixie cut, who I thought Jasper was dating. When I passed by she gave me a dirty look. I brushed it off and smirked at her. She scowled.
I met Bella at our car and we left. Something was wrong with Bella, she was very quiet and seemed distracted. "So there was a boy, Jasper, we talked a little. I think he's related to the other girl with the wheat colored hair." I started.
"I think the Cullens and Hale's are...are not human." Bella spoke suddenly. I processed what she said and paused. Not...human? Then what were they? I shook my head.
"Then what are they?" I asked her. She cringed. "I think they're...Vampires" Vampires?
"Evidence?" I said.
"I don't have any...right now. I'm going to find out the truth though." Bella told me. I sighed.
"Bella, you shouldn't get involved in other people's business."
"I know, I know. But-" She started
"No, 'but's' you could get hurt. Bella, do you understand?" I interrupted her.
Bella sighed and nodded her head. I knew she wasn't going to listen to me, but it was worth a try. I didn't want her to end up in a situation similar to mine.
