What they could have lost
A guest asked for a oneshot of Snowing being all gooey and mushy with Emma. Will contain 6B spoilers!
Thanks for your patience, everyone. As those of you who follow me on Twitter know, I was away this week holidaying on an island with no access to wifi so have been unable to post :). On top of that, I have my last 2 assignments of uni due and an exam to study-or cram-for so a busy bee again for a couple of weeks! Thus having to wait until today to post. Happy Once Day!
Important: As usual, if you have a request based on tonight's episode, that's great. All that I ask is that you place a spoiler warning before your request so I don't accidentally see it before I get a chance to watch the episode :).
"Guys…"
"Nuh-uh." Charming informed his daughter, still clinging tightly to her, as Snow was doing on the other side.
"I'm still alive, it didn't work. Gideon couldn't kill me." There was a hint of melancholy for Emma saying that. In being unsuccessful in killing Emma, he had destroyed himself. Rumplestiltskin and Belle were distraught, but unlike their daughter, neither Snow nor Charming could focus on Gideon's death, or Rumplestiltskin and Belle's grief. How could they when they came so close to losing their own child? It had been over half an hour since the showdown, and over half an hour since the parents had begun hugging their child. "I should really go check in with Killian." Emma tried. "I'm sure he wants to talk to me as well."
"The pirate can wait." Charming told her, disgruntled. Emma smirked. Her dad only ever referred to Killian as "the pirate" when he was annoyed with him. Or in this care, felt he deserved priority of Emma's time. "We nearly lost our baby tonight. Emma, you have no idea how scared we were. Both of us. Seeing you, that sword going through you like. My heart stopped. You're my princess, Emma Swan, it was far too real seeing you that close to death." Emma shifted uncomfortably.
"Your dad's right, sweetheart. This has given us the kick up the backside we needed. For too long we've been content to move aside and let you live an independent life. Well, we moved too far. We let you slip so far away that you could have been killed. No more. Sorry, honey, but life's too short to care about embarrassment. No more will we censor our pet names or our public hugs. You know something? I didn't want you to move out! I know I can't make you all move back in, but I miss you and Henry. From now on, I'm going to call every evening to check in on you both. Even if you've spent the day with us." Emma hid a groan.
"Speaking of Henry." Emma finally managed to wriggle free from her parents. "Maybe I should let him know I'm ok? Since he's my son and all?" Snow and Charming couldn't really argue with that.
"Go talk to him." Charming agreed with Emma. "But call us when you're done so we know you're both ok. Let us know if you want us to come round…"
"I will." Emma promised them. She loved her parents dearly, but she still wasn't entirely sure this whole situation would be just cause for names like "Emmy" or "honey pie" to be public…
