It didn't take long for me and Evie to get ready; and before I knew it it was now half eight and we were just adding the finishing touches before we were about to leave. I couldn't stop a smile spreading across my face at the fact that in half an hour I would be in my husband's arms - this time I would never be leaving.
I looked at myself in the floor length mirror and I was in awe of my wedding dress; it was exactly as I imagined it would be when I told Evie what I wanted. I was currently wearing a white floor length strapless dress, with a sparkling lace bodice that was covered in purple and green gemstones which dropped from the top right to the bottom spiralling down. It had a low V-neck and large underskirt that made the dress fluff out. The crowning glory was the fact that Evie had managed to stitch my double dragon mark on the left hand side of the corset in light purple thread. I had my hair tied up in an elegant bun; and over my veil I had the silver hair piece that Ben had given me for our first family day together at Auradon Prep.
There was, however, one difference that I didn't expect to go with my wedding dress was the cape that Evie had made. Evie told me that given the fact that she knew that it was going to make me a cape to go with my dress. It was a thick deep velvet dark purple cape that had white fluffy fur along the trim. When I asked her about this; she said that she knew that it was going to be snowing. She wanted to make sure that me and the baby weren't getting cold. I couldn't help but smile up at her; she really had thought of everything - I was even wearing flats due to the weather.
As I looked over to Evie I couldn't help but admire her maid of honour dress; she had done us both so proud. She was currently wearing a deep blue velvet slim line dress that had a deep red velvet sash around her slender waist. However this dress was held up on her left shoulder as the dress diagonally swept over her chest. Blue rhinestones fell down her dress so when the light caught her dress it sparkled. Just like me her hair was arranged in an elegant bun and she had a sparkling gold crown hair piece attached to the dark blue fascinator on the left hand side of her head.
Due to my hyper sense hearing I could hear Jane, Lonnie and Freddie getting ready to leave next door. I had just been in to see them before I put my wedding dress on and I loved how Evie had made them similar dresses however they were in their own colours; Jane had light blue and pink, Lonnie was wearing pink and blue and finally Freddie was wearing green and red. I loved how everyone had found their places in the world; and the four of them were excited to see Doug, Carlos, Jay and Azis at Auradon Cathedral.
After adding the final touches to my dress we heard a knock on the door which made us both freeze.
"Who is it?" Evie called.
"It's me, Belle!" she answered through the door. "I just wanted to speak to Mal before we leave," she explained. I then watched as Evie quickly ran forward and opened the door; before Belle stepped in the room, wearing another Evie original. It had to be! It was a bright yellow floor length dress with an open back with a sleeveless sparking lace bodice that was also covered in dark blue rhinestones. It also had a very low V-neck and thin satin dark blue waistband. Belle had her hair assorted nicely into an elaborate plait which meant it was swept across the top of her head and placed neatly on the top was a golden fascinator with blue feathers coming away from it.
"I'll give you a few moments" Evie explained and she quickly left the room, closing the door behind her.
"Wow Mal!" Belle exclaimed as she walked towards me and stood in front of me.
"Thank you" I smiled. "Do you think Ben will approve?" I questioned as I held my arms out so she could take a better look.
"Ben will love it" she advised as she looked up at my face.
"How is he?" I asked eagerly.
"Very eager to see you" she chuckled. "He hates being kept apart from you" he reminded me.
"I know the feeling" I sighed, causing Belle to chuckle at me once more. "I hate it too," I added. "Especially given what has already happened between us" I stated.
"Yes" she nodded. "But the pair of you have been able to find each other once more, that is the most important part" she urged and I smiled at this.
"Did Ben ask you to check on me?" I questioned, knowing that if Ben couldn't come to see me then he might send Belle to see how I am doing.
"No," she replied. "But his face lit up when I told him that I was coming to see you," she began to explain. "I think he will probably take some reassurance from it" she added.
"Probably" I agreed.
"Thank you Mal" she said with her trademark regal smile.
"For what?" I questioned in confusion.
"Being the woman that my son needs" she said. "Yes things have developed quicker than I would have liked; but I have a gut feeling that this is the way that it was meant to go for the two of you" she advised. "Sorry three of you" she quickly amended before she threw a look at my stomach.
"Yeah" I agreed again as she looked up at me and threw me a loving look. I loved how my relationship with Adam and Belle had been able to return to the way that it was when me and Ben were together for the first time around. I loved them like they were my own parents; and I knew that me and Ben could get through anything as long as we had Adam and Belle there with us as well - just like my family.
"I better go down" she quickly stated. "Otherwise Ben will come looking for me" she teased.
"And we wouldn't want that?" I laughed.
"No we wouldn't" she laughed back. "See you both later" she winked at me before she turned to leave.
"See you" I stated as I watched her walk up to the bedroom door before she looked over to me and threw me a loving look. We both shared a brief smile before she opened the door, leaving me with my thoughts about the loving exchange that I had just had with my mother-in-law.
A few minutes later I watched as the bedroom door opened and Evie appeared, with a very excited look on her face.
"I've just watched Ben's open carriage leave with his parents" she advised and I started to envision Ben leaving with his parents. This only made me want to go to Ben even more than ever; I hated to be kept separate from Ben. He was my whole world; and I knew after today nothing or no one was ever going to keep us apart ever again. "It's time for us to leave" I heard her say, which broke me out of my train of thought. "Our closed carriage is ready" she advised and I nodded at her. This was it! I was on my way to renew my wedding vows to my soulmate, which was something that I was very excited and eager to do.
