Before I knew it it was now the morning of the trial and my stomach kept fluttering nervously as I stood on the balcony of mine and Ben's bedroom after I finished getting ready. Normally taking a few deep breaths as I looked over the view of Auradon was enough to settle my nerves, but not today. I started to remind myself that at least me and Ben weren't actually going into the courtroom today; due to the volatile nature of this case me and Ben were going to watch proceedings through a video link. Which meant that even though we were still in the court house, we were nowhere near Bobby, Chad, Kendal, Samuel, Paul and Stephen.
"Mal!" I heard Ben say as he walked towards me.
"Hmm?" I answered, not taking my eyes from the view that was in front of me.
"Mal, look at me" he advised and I turned my head to see that Ben was now standing on my right hand side. "Come here" he added as he pulled me into a hug and I snuggled my head against his chest. "This trial is going to be hard on the pair of us" I heard him say before he pressed a kiss against the top of my head.
"Yes" I muttered. "Very" I advised as I looked up at him. "But we will get through this" I meekly smiled at him. "Together" I added.
"Together" he repeated and we both tightened our arms around each other. I couldn't help but sigh at being in Ben's arms as we both enjoyed these few silent moments together before we had to come to the crippling reality of the trial that was due to start within an hour. "We need to go my love" I heard him say as he pulled away and looked down at me after we had been standing in what felt like a perfect eternity, which wasn't long enough in my opinion.
"Ok" I advised as I stepped out of his arms. "Let's get this started" I added meekly. "The sooner we can start this, the sooner it can be ended" I sighed.
"Someone is eager" he teased, obviously trying to make light of the situation.
"To get away from this situation yes!" I exclaimed. "However-" I started.
"Yes?" he prompted me.
"I am more eager to get this over and done with for another reason, husband" I answered.
"Care to share wife?" he questioned.
"Of course" I nodded. "The sooner this trial is over, then sooner we can start getting away from this mess" I added. "Then the three of us can start living our lives" I grinned as I looked down at my stomach.
"Yes!" he exclaimed, causing me to look back at him. "I can't wait to meet them," he cooed.
"Me too" I agreed as Ben cupped my stomach with his left hand.
"Ben be careful!" I exclaimed as I stepped away from him. "We don't want anyone to figure it out yet" I teased. There was going to be enough attention and drama surrounding me and Ben during the trial without the news of my pregnancy getting out as well.
"Sorry" he apologized as we both turned and started to walk back towards our bedroom to get the last of our things sorted. "I just can't wait for the world to know" he reminded eagerly as we both walked into our bedroom.
"Well we need to wait until I am twelve weeks" I reminded him happily as he closed and locked the doors behind us. "And we have had our scan" I continued as I started to feel excited at seeing our little one for the first time.
"Yes" I heard Ben answer as I stepped up to our bed and I picked up my bag. "The week before we renew our vows" he added eagerly as he stood on my left hand side.
"Yes" I nodded. "I can't wait until our wedding reception" I told him as we both looked lovingly at each other. Me and Ben had decided that during Ben's speech at our wedding lunch he was going to announce that I was pregnant; and I had mixed feelings on this. First of all I was very excited at the Kingdom finding out; but I was also prepared for the backlash. I knew that there was going to be certain people and council members were going to think that this was the real reason as to why me and Ben got married in secret. But I had decided to not let things like this get to me; what mattered was what me, Ben, our family and friends thought - and this was going to get me through the trial and my pregnancy.
"Me too baby" he answered which made us both smile at each other before we went to go and get the rest of our things together so we could leave. I hated the fact that me and Ben had to go through this; but I stood by what I had just said to Ben. I couldn't wait for this trial to be over, then me, Ben and our little one could continue with our lives away from Bobby and his influences - and this was what mattered to me the most.
