"The Accused!" I heard as the side room door opened. "Bobby Bailey!" The same voice called and I watched as two tall police deputy's walked either side of Bobby as he was brought into the room. I watched as he quickly looked around the room before his face dropped, which told me that he was looking for me and Ben. Instead his eyes landed on a man and woman in the gallery and he quickly looked away from them; and when I looked over to the couple they were obviously his parents, which only made me feel sorry for them.
"Prince Chad Charming of Charmington and Cinderellasberg!" the herald announced and I watched as Chad was then brought into the room. I couldn't help but note the scared look in his eyes as he was taken to the dock to stand next to Bobby. However unlike Bobby he looked over to his parents and mouthed the word 'sorry' which only made Queen Cinderella burst into tears.
"Kendal Kingston!" the herald called again and me and Ben watched as Kendal was slowly brought into the room. Kendal however just let himself be led to stand on Chad's left hand side; I watched as a couple who must have been his parents tried to catch his eye but he didn't even look at them which caused his parents to sigh and shake their heads.
"Samuel Smith!" the herald continued and I watched as Samuel was also brought into the room and advised to stand in the dock with the others. I watched as he quickly looked around the room before looking down to the floor, obviously not wanting to attract too much attention to himself.
"Paul Peterson!" the herald advised and I watched as Peter was brought into the room with two deputies. As I watched him make his way to the dock my mind started to relieve my very brief encounter with him, I failed to see what I had done to cause such an offence to him. I had only turned him down on the dance floor when I had been dancing with Sam when Ben decided to end things very briefly with me, I really didn't think that it would be enough for him to join this crusade to destroy me and Ben. However before I could concentrate on this any further I heard the herald announce the final member of the accused party.
"Stephen Sadler!" I heard and I watched as he slowly was taken to the dock. However before I could watch him walk into the dock I felt Ben squeeze my right hand, which made me look over to him.
"Are you ok?" I questioned.
"Yeah, I guess" he muttered as he pursed his lips together.
"You guess?" I prompted.
"It just unsettles me seeing them all together" he admitted, I opened my mouth to say something but stopped and looked at the screen as I heard the herald call:
"Please stand for Chief Justice of the United States of Auradon, Sheldon Williams!"
I then watched as a tall man entered from the back of the room and he walked up towards the judges chair and desk. As he took to his seat I took in his appearance; he looked around in his mid fifties with large black glassing framing his eyes. He had dark brown hair that was thinning on the top and was wearing long black rope with a smart black and white suit underneath.
"Thank you" he said to the room after everyone had taken their seats. "Now that everyone is in attendance we can now begin-" he began. "I would just like to clear up some confusion that I know some of you are now facing" he continued. "As you are all aware, his Majesty and his wife-" he stated and I watched as Bobby grimaced at this. "Are watching the proceedings from another room in the court house. This is due to the fact that both of them have to give detailed statements and evidence for these court proceedings" he explained smoothly. "And given the history between the parties we thought that this would be the best way to proceed" he smiled at the room before continuing.
"I am going to start with my opening statement," he explained. "I have been asked by his royal highness to proceed over this case" he advised. "I am going to treat this situation in the professional manner that I am well known for" he added proudly. "I request that the accused, press and friends and family must behave with a sense of decorum, if you are going to struggle with this you will need to leave" he warned. "And for the accused" he directed to them. "Any outbursts may cause you to be removed; and this trial will continue without you" he warned them. "Understood?" he asked as he looked around the room and everyone nodded at this. "Very well" he nodded back. "Let's get started" he finished and my stomach began to churn. This was it! There was no turning back now! The trial was now underway, and for my family's sake I just wanted it to go quickly - so it caused as much less pain than possible.
