The first big milestone
A guest asked for a oneshot of *6x17 spoilers!* Snowing talking with Emma about her wedding and being there for that. They were sad they couldn't be there for any other huge milestone, but they're there for this one.
"I still can't believe this is actually happening!" Snow was practically bouncing up and down with delight. "I mean, I knew right from Neverland that this was the way things were going, but with everything that's happened I was worried you were never going to get there."
"I wish you'd clued me in." Charming teased his wife, wrapping an arm around her. Snow chuckled, smiling up at him.
"Charming, let's be real here. Even if I had explicitly told you that Emma and Killian were practically destined to be true loves and get married one day, would you have been able to accept that? Your princess getting married?" Charming rolled his eyes playfully.
"No, I suppose your right." He admitted. Emma pretended to gag.
"Come on guys, let's try and not get too mushy." She pleaded. Snow laughed.
"We're sorry. We don't mean to get so excited about this…but it's your first major milestone that we've been able to be a part of. We just really want to make the most of it." Emma's smile faded. She hadn't really thought about it like that.
"Hey," Charming said, reaching out and taking Emma's hand. "Don't you get down over this. Yes, your mother and I wish we could have been there for all your milestones, but that's not the hand life dealt us. So we'll settle for your wedding day. We're not letting you down this time, Em. We're here for this, one hundred percent. This is all about you."
"Well, maybe a little about Killian as well…"
"Never mind him!" Snow corrected her daughter. "My baby girl is going to be the bride. This wedding will be all about you." Emma laughed. She understood why her parents were so focused on her for this. In many ways, she was delighted to be able to share her wedding with them. But she too felt the bitter aftertaste of remembering that this might only be the only big milestone they had with her. Even if nobody said it out loud.
