"There she is!" I heard Ben exclaim as he walked into our bedroom from our bathroom. I was already in bed; as I was now thirty seven weeks pregnant I was spending most of my time in bed now - given the fact that our son could come any day now. "My perfect wife" he grinned as he started to walk towards me. "You look so tired" he noted as I yawned at him.
"That is because I am my love" I advised as he climbed into his side of the bed, and he kicked his covers away so he could get into bed. "Pregnancy is definitely wearing me out" I said as I slid down and placed my head onto my pillow.
"Not much longer my love" he replied as he pulled the covers over the pair of us.
"Hopefully" I smiled. "I can't wait to meet him," I added as I smiled down and I cupped both my stomach in both of my hands before I slowly started to stroke my stomach. I still couldn't believe that within the next coming weeks my little boy was going to be in my arms; and I loved the fact that I was the woman that was going to give Ben the children that he needed.
"Me neither" Ben stated as he rolled onto his right hand side and he slid his left hand onto my stomach. "He is going to give us a run for our money" he chuckled as he stroked his thumb along my stomach.
"Yeah" I agreed. "He is probably going to be a very cheeky and playful boy" I said happily. "Lucifer help us!" I teased which made us both laugh as we cuddled tightly together in bed.
"I can't wait to start living our lives as a little family" he said as I snuggled my face into his chest.
"Yes" I agreed. "Me too," I added. "I want everything that you had for him, I don't have any good childhood experiences that I wanted to share with him" I said sadly as I looked up at Ben and pouted.
"Hey!" he cooed as he cupped the right hand side of my face with his left hand. "Please don't think like that," he advised as he brushed his nose against mine. "I hate what you had to go through," he stated sadly.
"I know," I advised. "But you saved me," I continued, and I watched as a smile spread across his face.
"And you have saved me" he replied which caused me to smile at him. "So we are even" he joked and we both laughed again. I loved that no matter what Ben was always able to make me feel better; which was another reason why I loved him, my beautiful husband. "Our son will have a happy life, Mal," he promised. "We will make sure of this; and we will do things our way" he continued. "We will start our own family traditions with some of our own family traditions and some of our old" he stated.
"Like those father and son camping trips every summer" I smiled
"I think Father would like that," he grinned.
"Yes" I agreed. "I also want him to be an avid reader like you," I added.
"Well that is down to my mother" he told me.
"Yes" I repeated. "Well I would like that for him also" I continued.
"Fair do" he nodded. "On one condition?" he offered.
"Yes?" I stated for the third time.
"He needs to be an artist," he replied. "Like his mother" he grinned.
"Agreed" I answered and we both smiled at each other. We gazed into each other's eyes for a few seconds before Ben pushed his face forward and pressed a long and loving kiss against my lips. When the need to breath assaulted our lungs we both separated and rested our foreheads against each other's as we regulated breathing. I then felt a sharp protest in my bladder which told me that I needed the toilet again, which made me sigh and I then watched as Ben pulled a confused face at me. "Can you help me up please?" I questioned. "I need the toilet" I advised.
"Ok" he nodded before he quickly kicked the covers back before jumping up and quickly running around the bed. When he got to my side of the bed I slowly sat up and span around and kicked my legs out and put them onto the blood; Ben then offered me his hands and I slowly slid my hands into his.
"This is something that I can't wait to be over" I advised as he slowly helped me to my feet. "Needing the toilet all the time" I sighed.
"I know" he smiled meekly as he let go of my hands. I then slowly waddled through our bedroom and towards our bedroom; when I got to the doorway of our bathroom I then looked over to Ben to see him throwing me a loving look as he climbed back into bed. I then winked at him before I turned to leave the room, very grateful that I had Ben in my life. As he was the reason I had everything in my life, and I was never ever going to take him or the life that we had for granted, ever!
