The consequences- part 2
GrantL1991 asked for a oneshot of a sequel to Ch2398 "The consequences" where Snowing do decide to tell Emma they could have saved her. This leads to Emma getting angry and leaving the house in a rage.
"Well, what was so urgent that it couldn't wait?" Emma asked. She was still awkward around both of her parents. She wasn't sure where their relationship lied. It was a unique situation, for sure.
"Emma, sit down, please." Snow asked her, wringing her hands. Emma was curious. Why were they both so nervous looking?
"Alright…" She said, slowly lowering herself onto the couch. "What is it?" Snow and Charming looked at each other, trying to gather strength from the other. They linked hands.
"We escaped the curse when you were a child." Charming told her. Emma looked confused. She shook her head.
"No you didn't. I broke the curse when I was twenty-eight. You were both cursed when I arrived?" Emma pointed out.
"That's because we took a memory potion." Snow explained. They both saw Emma was quickly becoming overwhelmed. "We share true love with you, Emma. Rumplestiltskin gave us two potions after pixie dust broke the curse for us. One to allow us to find you, and one to help us forget. We used both that day. We couldn't stop our own suffering at the expense of everyone else." Snow tried to explain. Charming went to reach out to Emma, but she snatched her hand back.
"You could have saved me." Emma said quietly. She got up. "I could have grown up out of the system. But you chose to turn your back on me…"
"No, Emma, we didn't turn our back on you." Charming pleaded with her. "It wasn't like that. We couldn't just think of our family. There was a whole town full of families affected by Regina's curse. Not just ours…"
"But I was the only one who had to grow up alone!" Emma shouted. "Everyone else gets to carry on like nothing ever happened. But not me. I can't get my twenty-eight years back. There could have been another way. You could have saved me and taken me back to Storybrooke when I was twenty-eight. You chose the easy way. The way that meant you were guilt free for another eighteen years. I need some air."
"Emma-"
"No." Emma snapped as she left the loft apartment. Snow then collapsed against Charming in tears. They knew Emma had a right to know, but that didn't make the fallout any easier to deal with, for any of them.
