"Members of the jury-" Chief Justice Williams advised as he looked over to the jury. "The time has come when the great burden of reaching a just, fair and conscientious decision of this case to be thrown wholly upon you" he advised. "The jurors selected for this important duty" he added.

"We are now going to ask you to take into account everything that both the prosecution and the defence has presented to you all-" Chief Justice Williams advised. "As Chief Justice I instruct you to do a number of things" he added. "First of all when you leave this courtroom you will be taken to your meeting room, where you will first have to decide who will be the foreperson" he continued. "Next of all you will then need to discuss everything in great length until you all come to a verdict of either guilty, not guilty" he stated and I watched as some members of the jury nodded at this. "However if you are fifty fifty or sixty forty then it will be known as a hung jury and the court will discuss the next steps with the prosecution and the defence" he said. "When you have all come to a verdict whatever that may be you will need to fill in the paperwork that will be given to you by a clerk and notify a clerk when you have all come to a decision" he explained. "It will be then at this point when you will be brought back into the room to advise of your verdict" he finished advising. "Is that all understood, members of the jury?" He questioned.

"Yes" they all chorused.

"Very well" the Chief Justice nodded. "Deputy could you please escort the jury out and to their room please?" He asked.

"Yes your honour" a guard nodded and I watched as the deputy then opened a side door and led the jury out, with another guard following and closing the door behind them.

"Well that is it" I muttered. "Nothing more can be done now" I added as I snuggled my head against Ben's right shoulder.

"No" I heard him answer. "And this is when we wait," he advised. "I just hope we have done enough" I heard him say sadly, which made me look up at him to see tears start to form into his eyes.

"Ben!" I exclaimed as I tightened my arms around him and I pulled him to me so his head was now against my left shoulder. "We have" I told him as I started to play with the hair on the back of his head in a bid to reassure him. "We just have to put trust into your justice system that they all get what is coming to them" I added as I pressed a kiss against the side of his head. The room fell into silence as I continued to console my husband as silent tears began to stain my shirt; I hated what this situation had done to Ben but I made a promise to myself. No matter the verdict of this trial I was going to do everything in my power to ensure that Ben and our baby was protected - whatever it took to ensure this!
