**I don't own these characters just a fan wanting to tell a story**

Eddie's breath caught in her chest. God, she wasn't ready for this, but the words started to fall out."I was having coffee at my boyfriend's father's house. My boyfriend Jamie was making breakfast when we heard what sounded like gunshots outside. Jamie went to the window when six men rushed into the kitchen. One of them knocked Jamie down and someone slammed my head into the table." Eddie paused, her heart was racing, she had done her best to forget all about it. Everything about what happened made life easier if she never talked about it or thought about it. "When I woke up I was in a large bedroom and my legs were duct-taped together. There was a man in the room. I was confused about how I got there and my head hurt like no other

"And what happened when you woke up?" Mr. Sandbury asked.

"Was anyone else in the room with you?" Mr. Sandbury walked back closer to his desk.

"Yes, there was a man."

"Was this man in the room?" Mr. Sandbury questioned, showing Eddie a picture of Aaron Keller.

The cold eyes chilled Eddie to her very soul. "Yes, that was him."

"Let the record reflect that the witness has identified a photograph of Dr. Aaron Keller." Mr. Sandbury set the photograph back on his desk.

Sydney continued to click her pen as Eddie's testimony echoed across the walls. This wasn't good, Eddie looked too much like a victim, which was going to make Jessica look like a villain. Some reason, just something set Sydney off about Eddie, deep in her heart she knew she hated her, but she had no idea why. Every time she saw her, she felt her stomach jolt, and every time Eddie placed her hands on her pregnant abdomen a harsh pang of jealousy roared through her. Sydney managed to keep her mind on the case and scratched the pen across the paper with a few notes to bring up during the cross, just as Mr. Sandbury asked his next question.

"What was going through your head when you were left alone?" Mr. Sandbury asked.

Eddie clenched her hands. "One pro of dating a cop, and being a cop is that you know someone is coming for you. I knew my boyfriend would do his best to find me...but deep down I was scared I would die, I was scared I was going to lose my babies and I was scared that the last room I would see would be that bedroom."

"Damn it" Sydney cursed under her breath. That statement just connected to the jury. Sydney's eyes trained on the jurors, noticing one had just turned her feet towards Eddie and away from Jessica. That juror was siding with the prosecution. Mr. Sandsbury had done his best to cut off Eddie every time she talked about how Jessica had helped her.

Finally. "Defense, your witness."

Sydney straightened up. She would put her feelings about Eddie aside and do her best to defend her client.
"Thank-you Officer Janko for coming to testify today. I understand how difficult it must be for you to retell this difficult section of your life." Sydney started. "I just have a few questions for you. When Mrs. Keller came into your room without Dr. Keller for the first time, did you guys have a conversation?"

"Yes," Eddie answered. Her chest rose with a deep breath. She was ready for this, she wanted to help and God damn it she would if it killed her.

"What did you guys talk about?" Sydney asked.

"She wrapped my wrists with gauze as she tried to explain to me that her husband didn't want to hurt me. He just wanted to use me to leave the country. Then she apologized for having to put the handcuffs back on and then promised to bring me more food in a couple of hours"

"And did you see Mrs. Keller alone again before the police raid?"

"Yes, she came in several hours later to bring me food as she promised."

"And did you guys talk anything?"

"I asked her about the bruises on her face, neck, and arms and if Dr. Keller caused them" Eddie answered. "She pleaded with me to not ask questions but I pressed her saying I couldn't tell anyone anyway. She then told me that she had disagreed with him and that was her punishment. I asked her afterward to take my phone and to send a message to my boyfriend. She agreed."

Sydney barely bit back a visible grimace at the mention of Jamie. "Before Dr. Keller came back into the room to use you as a hostage, what did you hear?"

"I heard screaming, Dr. Keller was angry, screaming at Mrs. Keller because she had helped me. Mrs. Keller was pleading with him not to hurt her and was trying to convince him that she had done the right thing. I then heard three gunshots and Dr. Keller rushed into my room with blood splattered over him.

"Thank you Officer Janko for coming today. The defense rests your honor." Sydney finished, sending Eddie a cool glance.

Eddie's heart leapt into her throat when the judge said "You may step down Officer Janko." Eddie stepped down. She was done. She had lived through the whole ordeal for the last time. As she walked from the courtroom she felt the tears start to wheel in her eyes and damn it she hated pregnancy.

Day 2

Here is your gift chapter of today. Please understand I am not a lawyer and to be honest I don't know a ton about the law or how things work in the court system so if this inaccurate I am very sorry but I am human and I do make mistakes. Also, this is not one of my favorite chapters and it had me stumped for a while on how to write this, so I did my best to try and figure out how to write it. I also do recognize that the last couple of chapters haven't advanced the plot a lot but I promise the plot is going to start progressing a lot in the next couple of chapters. This chapter was also not betaed all the mistakes are mine, I do my best to catch them but I sometimes miss the mistakes.

Love you guys!
