**I don't own these characters, just a fan who wanted to tell a story**

Jamie reading on the couch, when he heard keys at the door.

"Hey," He greeted as the door opened, "how'd it go?"

Eddie heaved a sigh. "I think it went well, I just wish you could have been there. It would have been easier if I could have seen you there supporting me." Eddie said as she moved to the couch and sat down next to Jamie snuggling up to him. "I missed you."

"I wish I could have been there for you." Jamie said putting his arm around her, pulling her into a hug

"How did your day go?" Eddie asked, as she pulled out her hair tie and shook out her hair.

"It went okay, I had a talk with my dad about quitting the NYPD," Jamie replied, running his hand through Eddie's hair helping her take out the braid.

"How did that go?" Eddie kicked her shoes off.

"He took it surprisingly well but wasn't super helpful. He basically said it was my decision and he knew I'd make the right one."

"Did he happen to supply what the right answer might be?" Eddie asked, snuggling back into Jamie's embrace.

"No. He didn't." Jamie sighed.

"We will figure it out." Eddie said reassuring taking her boyfriend's hand and squeezing it.

"I know we will, I just hope we figure it out before the twins get here." Jamie answered.

"Yeah. I'll be six months old tomorrow." Eddie said in awe. " Only three months left until they are here."

"Can you believe that if we hadn't decided to get drunk out of our minds, we might never have gotten together?" Jamie questioned.

"I feel like we would have figured it out eventually." Eddie suggested

"Really because I have a feeling I would have been so blind, I would never have realized how much I love you." He kissed the top of her head lightly. "I'm a little bit emotionally stunted."

"I think I could have knocked some sense into you." she answered whacking him lightly on the stomach, being careful of his still-healing wounds.

"You kissed me and I still let you walk out of my apartment." He laughed.

"Ugh, the twins hate this position, I gotta change positions." Eddie sighed as she changed from her position beside him and lay down on the couch resting her head in his lap. "In all honesty, I practically ran out of the room."

"Yeah, you did." He answered twirling her hair around his finger. "You know I couldn't sit in my living room for weeks after that kiss. Every time I did I relived the whole conversation, and I couldn't help but feel I made a massive mistake."

"I went home and cried. I cried for hours and drank half a bottle of wine and a tub of ice cream. I just sat there thinking I was an idiot and that wish you hadn't let me leave." Eddie said with an embarrassed laugh. They had never talked about that night. Never.

"If I had stopped you, would you have stayed?" Jamie asked, his blue eyes meeting hers, his eyes held enough love in them, they made tingles run up and down Eddie's spine

"God, yes. In the elevator, I almost ran back to your apartment. The only thing that made me stop as I was afraid you would have told me to go home."

"I wouldn't have," Jamie answered brushing her hair across his lap with his hand.

"I know that now, but I was scared you would reject me," Eddie said, biting her lip.

"Well, I hope you know how much I love you now." Jamie replied.

"I do. I hope you know how much I love you too." Eddie promised.

"How could I forget?' Jamie leaned down and kissed her. "Do you feel like going out to dinner?" Jamie questioned as they broke apart.

"Food? Always. But do we have to go out? I'm so tired and the twins have been moving all day like crazy and I just want to stay in and do nothing." Eddie sighed.

"Yeah, whatever makes you feel more comfortable. What do you feel like eating?" Jamie shrugged.

"Pizza. Does that sound good for you?" Eddie asked.

"Sounds great." Jamie said.

"If you will order, I am going to shower to wash this day away and change into some comfy clothes." Eddie said but not moving.

"Do you need me to help sit up?" Jamie suggested with a smile.

"Yes, please. I'm just so tired." Eddie replied with a grown

Jamie helped Eddie rise to a sitting position with his good arm.

"I will see you once I am out of the shower," Eddie answered, "and there better be food. Just talking about food has made me hungry." Eddie pushed herself off the couch. She groaned. "When did walking get so hard...your children are too heavy."

Jamie laughed and reached for his phone to order the food.

The shower had been running for a good twenty minutes, and Jamie could hear Eddie sing to herself in the shower. She had grown more comfortable living with him and he had soon learned. Showers are her time, she is having a dance party in there and she is singing her heart out. He smiled to himself. How did he manage to grab such an amazing woman? In just a couple more months he was going to be a Dad? A knock echoed across the door.

"Coming," Jamie called out. He made his way slowly to the door, walking was still painful if he did it too quickly. Expecting to be the pizza, Jamie was thoroughly surprised when it was not the pizza delivery guy but in the very Sydney Davenport, that he used to be engaged to.

"Hey," She said softly.
