**I don't own these characters just a fan wanting to tell a story"
"I've decided to get coffee with Sydney." Jamie said as they were both getting ready for Sunday dinner.
"Really, what changed your mind?"
"I just thought about what you said, I used to be good friends with Sydney, and I think I want to find out what she's been up to the past six years." Jamie answered.
"I'm glad you came to a decision, when are you guys gonna meet up?"
"I haven't texted her yet, I wanted to make sure it was still okay."
"Yeah, it's fine. I trust you." Eddie replied with a smile. "Thanks for asking, I appreciate that."
Jamie took out his phone and entered Sydney's new phone number.
Jamie: "Hey, it's Jamie. I'm up for coffee? Are you free tomorrow? My schedule this week is pretty booked"
"We need to get going or we are going to be late for dinner." Jamie sighed, putting his phone back in his pocket.
"Hey, it's gonna be okay. You don't have to talk about it today if you don't want to." Eddie said with a supporting squeezing his hand.
"How did I ever live without you." Jamie asked.
"I'm not sure how you survived." Eddie laughed softly and going up on her tiptoes to give him a quick kiss.
Dinner for the two of them was quiet. The rest of the family sent Jamie concerned glances but no one asked what happened yesterday. Erin and Danny went at it over something. To be honest Eddie hadn't paid much attention. Her goal today was to make sure Jamie didn't feel uneasy. Jamie just stayed quiet, occasionally joining in the conversation, he barely touched his food.
"Eddie, have you guys talked about baby names yet?" Linda asked as a lull in the conversation had turned most of the siblings' eyes to Jamie.
Eddie was grateful that Linda had come to rescue. "Um, we have three potential names bouncing around. Two boy names and one girl name."
"Care to share, or are you guys planning on keeping the names secret until the twins are born?" Erin questioned.
Eddie shot a questioning look at Jamie. They hadn't talked about that, he gave a slight nod of consent.
"The names we are thinking about are Joseph Jameson, Vincent Peter, and Mary Elizabeth." Eddie stated.
"Joseph after Joe, Vincent after Vinnie and Mary after mom." Jamie added on
"I like those names!" Nicki joined in.
"I think Joe would be proud if you decided to name one of your children after him," Frank said.
"But what will you do if you get two girls?" Linda asked.
"I want to use Edit after Eddie but-"
"I would not wish the name Edit on my worst enemy!" Eddie interrupted.
"Really, it's so unique." Nicki pointed out.
"Yes and no teacher will ever say it right, no friend will know how to say it and our child will get teased for having a weird name." Eddie objected. "I won't do that to our child."
"She does have a point," Frank stated. "I grew up with the name Francis and that was difficult."
"Okay so maybe we won't use Edit." Jamie surrendered.
The rest of dinner was trivial conversation. It was Eddie and Jamie's turn to do the dishes but Frank volunteered to take Eddie's place so she could rest on the couch because a pregnant woman shouldn't have to do dishes.
"So. You feel like talking about what was happening yesterday?" Frank asked, once the kitchen was completely empty and Jamie had already started drying the dishes that Frank had just washed.
"No, not really." Jamie answered shortly.
"Okay." Frank said, passing him another plate.
"Eddie seemed pretty freaked out when she couldn't find you."
"We worked it out." Jamie said.
"Okay."
"What-"
"Dad, I said I don't want to talk about it!" Jamie snapped.
"I wasn't going to ask about that," Frank said. "I was going to ask, what are you and Eddie you doing for Thanksgiving?"
"Wait, when is Thanksgiving?" Jamie questions.
"Next week?" Frank answered. "We know you usually are here and it's a family affair, but if you need to be with Eddie's family that's fine. We understand."
"Um, I completely forgot about Thanksgiving. I will talk to Eddie tonight and then get back to you about our plans." Jamie answered.
"Have you made and farther in making your decision if you are quitting the NYPD?" Frank asked.
"That is under the 'don't want to talk about' label tonight." Jamie answered.
"Okay, but if you want to talk about it Co-"
"Come before you go to bed or don't come until you wake up the next morning." Jamie finished.
Jamie felt his phone vibrate in his back pocket.
He quickly took it out and read it.
Sydney: "Great! Does 11 at our old place work for you?"
Jamie: "Yeah, that works."
