Emma's big day
May Muses day 2! My idea for today: what if Snow was helping Emma get ready for her wedding in the EF had there been no curse? Emma's life would have been much different then. She would know different things and different social norms would have prevailed. Just since *6b spoilers in the rest of the description, but the chapter is fine!* Emma is getting married on the show, it got me wondering how things might have been different if she got married had the curse never happened.
"Sit still." Snow laughed. Emma had always been a fidgety girl, Snow didn't know why she wasn't expecting as much when Emma was bound to be excited.
"I'm trying." Emma complained, but for all she tried, her leg still bounced and she still found herself tapping her fingertips gently off the vanity table in front of her. Even with Emma's movements, Snow still managed to finish the eloquent do on her hair that complemented her dress perfectly. So much thought had went into every little detail about today, it was so emotional that it was all finally coming together. Snow couldn't believe it. Her baby girl was getting married. How had time passed so quickly? Today her little princess would be the blushing bride. She would get to ride off into the sunset with her own Prince Charming to the summer palace, where Snow and Charming spent their own honeymoon. The honeymoon. That reminded Snow. When she got wed, she didn't have a mother to discuss the fine details of the beginning of married life. Her stepmother wasn't exactly going to be helpful either. The only person Snow had for guidance was Granny, who had been incredibly helpful and supportive, but Snow wanted more than that for Emma. Snow had made sure Emma understood how babies were made as she grew up, not wanting it to be a shock as she got older. But she still wanted to make sure Emma was prepared. Snow set down the brush and pulled up a stood so she was sitting beside her daughter.
"Sweetheart, I am beyond thrilled for you, and you look absolutely stunning." Snow began, smiling at the way it made Emma blush. "I just wanted to take a moment when it was just us to discuss your wedding night." Emma's eyes widened and her blush deepened.
"Oh I don't think that's necessary." Emma tried to protest, but Snow wasn't going to let Emma's embarrassment put her off.
"Believe me, I don't want to be having this conversation either, but I do think it's necessary. I'll be brief, I know you already know the important details." Snow promised. "All I really want to add is, don't expect it to be perfect, not at first. There's bound to be mistakes and awkwardness, that's ok. It's to be expected. What is important, is that you communicate. If something is uncomfortable, tell him. If you like something, great, tell him. It's hard at first, but it makes things better in the long run. When your father and I were first married…"
"Ok, I think that's enough details." Emma insisted. She gently squeezed her mother's hand. "Thank you, mama. We'll be fine." Emma tried to assure her mother. Snow smiled, reaching forward and taking the chance to kiss Emma's forehead before her makeup was applied. She was sure they would be.
