Snow's sister
Hi my name is pi asked for a oneshot of Snow meeting her long lost sister and it turns out she's evil. This upsets Snow as they used to be so close. Will contain moderate 6b spoilers!
"We're not going to just going to come up against the Black Fairy in the final battle." Regina sighed. "She knows Emma has plenty of back up, she won't just be waltzing in there alone." Regina pointed out. The group of heroes were surrounding Regina as she plotted out various points on a map of Storybrooke. They were trying to work out the most strategic place to have the final battle (if they got a chance to have a say) so they could help Emma wherever possible.
"No, she certainly will not." Came a cold, calculating voice from the diner door. Everyone looked up. Most of the heroes were confused. Who was this stranger? Snow wasn't confused, however. Snow knew exactly who this was.
"Summer?" She asked. The woman looked up at her. Snow was astounded. How could this be. "But you died?" The woman shook her head, her near platinum blonde, sleek, straight hair bouncing round about her. She stared at Snow with piercing blue eyes. Snow remembered them being a soft blue, like the summer sky she was named for. But now Summer Rain's eyes were a cold, icy blue.
"No, you were all only lead to believe that." Summer told her. "I was saved, by none other than the Black Fairy herself. She took me in and raised me. At first, I admit, I missed you, and everyone else in the palace. But as time went by and I accepted the Black Fairy as my mother. I came round to her way of thinking."
"Snow, this can't be?" Charming asked. Snow nodded, not taking her eyes off the woman.
"It is." She croaked. Everyone else was still in the dark.
"It is what?" Emma asked. How could her mother be so familiar with one of the Black Fairy's children? Snow turned and looked at her daughter, her eyes wet with tears.
"It's my older sister." Snow explained. Everyone was astounded.
"Older sister?" Regina asked. She had been married to Leopold when Snow was a child. How could she not know about another daughter?
"Summer died during the rainy season when I was a toddler." Snow explained. "Or at least, we thought she had died. It was too painful for mother and father, so I was told never to mention her. So I didn't." Summer gave a cold, emotionless, laugh.
"So I was just left forgotten. The Black Fairy was right. I was better off with her. Snow, you need not be involved in this. I know you have a baby. Take your husband, and the child, and leave Storybrooke before this battle begins. Otherwise, sister or not, if you get in my way things will get messy." She was warned. Snow was heartbroken. Her sister had been as loving as she. She had been full of life. Snow had wanted nothing more than to be just like her big sister. She spent her life trying to make her proud. Now here she was, alive, and threatening her daughter. Snow's hatred for the Black Fairy grew even stronger.
"Summer I'm not leaving the Black Fairy to murder my daughter." Snow said calmly. "Emma is my child too. I don't want to hurt you either. You are my sister, and I could not be more happy that you're alive. Please don't make me choose between my daughter and you, because we both know who will win." Snow told her. It broke her heart, but Emma wasn't the one threatening murder. "We can help you become good…"
"Ha!" Summer barked. "Good. Good means nothing. In life, you have to take what you want. You get what you want through power. My niece has too much power, and the Black Fairy wants to destroy it. The Black Fairy always gets what she wants, Snow White. Remember that." With that, Summer left the diner again. Snow was left in shock. It was a lot to take in at once.
"Mom?" Emma asked. Snow took Emma's hand and squeezed it. "Mom, I'm so sorry…"
"Shh." Snow said, stroking her thumb over Emma's hand. "Summer may still come back. We just have to hope. But if she's making me choose, I know who I'm choosing." Charming took Snow's free hand. He pressed his lips against her temple. He knew this was bound to be difficult for her, but he would help her through it. Just like together, they would help Emma through the final battle.
