A fic I decided to make on how All for One met Inko. Enjoy!
Checking his watch, All for One walked into the main office of the fashion company he was visiting. He had an important matter to discuss with the CEO. The company was small but robust, not one of his front organizations, but connected to one.
(He also might have used this company to design some of his suits)
He went into the CEO's personal office. The two shook hands, exchanged empty pleasantries, and moved on to what both of them actually cared about: business and money. The man was nothing particularly special. He was honest enough that All for One didn't need to worry about him getting this business caught up in anything criminal (All for One wanted this side of his empire clean), but not so honest that All for One would need to put up with pointless crusades. All for One dealt with this type all the time.
The meeting went well. At one point, they disagreed on a technical point and needed to check some records, so the CEO contacted one of his secretaries. A nervous, green haired woman in her twenties walked in, placed some papers on the CEO's desk, then hastily exited. The two viewed the papers, resolved their dispute (All for One of course was right) and returned to their discussion. Frankly that was the closest thing the meeting had to an actual challenge. Soon they'd finished their negotiations without All for One even needing to intimidate him.
As he was on his way out, All for One heard shouting. He glanced over to see some blond woman screaming at two coworkers in a manner that suggested she was about to murder them in front of an office full of witnesses while the green haired woman from before and another man struggled to hold her back.
From the apoplectic screaming he was able to gather that the green woman had asked the two men for assistance, they were rude to her, so the blond one was attacking on her behalf. He'd seen these types before: the jerks, the stressed doormats, and the attack dog. The only interesting thing in this interaction was the blonde's volume. Not that either of its recipients were intimidated
Since he was already watching, he took note of their quirks. One of the men looked like a dog, the other manipulated his computer without touching it, and the green woman caught a pen in a way that could be telekinesis. All for One rubbed his chin. The technology quirk seemed interesting. Did it send a signal to the computer or manipulate the computer itself? What was its range? Maybe he should find out for himse-
A roar of pure rage tore him from his thoughts. He looked to see the formerly meek green woman tearing into her coworkers for their rudeness and laziness with an unholy glare on her face. Even from where he was standing he could feel the aura of fear she was generating. The two men hugged each other as they cowered in terror. The blond woman stood off to the side, (out of the green woman's way), her expression suggesting this wasn't the first time this had happened.
Interesting. All for One leaned against the wall and enjoyed the show.
When the green woman was done, the two terrified men desperately apologized and promised to do what she asked. Then, like someone had flipped a switch, she started smiling and talking like the innocent doormat she'd seemed five minutes ago.
All for One watched her go back to her desk. She glanced in his direction just as he glanced away to see how the rest of the office reacted. He turned back as she began to work. After watching her a few more seconds, he remembered he had no reason to be here anymore. As he began making his way out, he saw the blond woman glaring at him. All for One paid her no mind and exited the room.
A week later All for One discovered another thing he needed discuss with the CEO of that company. He could have waited or sent an underling instead, but it was better to do it himself. They'd already met him, so it made sense for him to go again
He arrived at the office a few minutes early and was told that the CEO was still finishing something, and that he'd have to wait. What a shame. He glanced at the various workers and office drones at work. The green haired woman wasn't at the desk she'd been at last time. He looked around until he found her walking out of a nearby breakroom, a cup of coffee in her hand and a look of profound elation on her face. (He noticed the other workers looked oddly relieved at that)
She opened her big round eyes, which reminded All for One of those of a small dog. They were the similar shade of green as her hair which was partly tied in a bun similar to Nana Shimura's. She sat her desk and began working. He glanced away just as she was starting to look up in his direction.
He spent the next several minutes standing there, looking around for any interesting quirks to analyze (along with a few stolen glances at the green woman).
Soon he had his meeting with the CEO. It went well and a follow up was scheduled for the following morning.
The next morning
Kenzo walked into the breakroom hoping to start the day with a nice cup of morning coffee. A young man in a suit (who'd apparently forgotten his tie) was already in there, standing over the coffee machine with a concerned look on his face.
"I seem to have broken it," the man said as he ran a hand through his white curls, "I guess I don't know my own strength…"
Kenzo felt disappointed. He guessed he and anyone else who hadn't gotten here yet would just have to go without-
Wait.
A sudden realization filled Kenzo's heart with terror. The man turned to him wearing the innocent expression of someone who'd yet to realize he had doomed them all. "What is it?" the man said.
Kenzo grabbed his shoulders "Do you not know what you've done?!" he said. "Midoriya's not here yet, and you just broke the coffee machine! When she gets here and finds out she can't have her coffee, she'll-
He was cut off as an aura of menace came in from outside. He slowly peeked his head out the door. A pre-coffee Midoriya was storming toward the breakroom, an aura of murderous annoyance around her. Kenzo quickly dove out of the room and hurried back to his desk. His coworkers noticed his fear and looked back, realizing what it meant.
An unholy sound emanated from the breakroom.
"W-what happened?" Taichi said.
"Someone broke the machine," said Kenzo.
"Is-is he still in there?" said Taichi.
"I hope not, for his sake," said Kenzo.
"W-what do we do?" said Yuki.
"One of us should get Mitsuki or Bakugo to go buy her a cup-"
"Ahem."
Kenzo turned around to see the man who'd started this whole mess clearing his throat. "I could get that cup for her. After all, I'm already here and I did get us into this mess," the man said with a soothing smile.
Kenzo and the others hastily nodded. "Here's her order!" said Yuri handing him a slip of paper. "No that bit about the sugar is not miswritten. Hurry!"
"Of course," said the man as he hurried out the door. Kenzo and the others turned to watch Midoriya doing her work with a ferocity that made Mitsuki look calm and serene and hoped the man didn't take too long.
All for One walked back into the office, a cup of coffee in hand. As he neared the woman, (what had the man called her? Green?) he felt the aura of annoyance around her. He smiled at the fear she was generating in her coworkers. Normally he was the one who doing that. He'd have to ask her if she had a mental quirk. He walked up to her and set the cup of coffee on her desk.
Her murderous gaze snapped to it. Slowly her eyes (which became much less hostile upon recognizing the coffee in front of her) crept up to All for One, who smiled at her. He didn't feel any fear, but he did notice his heart was beating a little quicker. Perhaps her quirk influenced body chemistry?
"For you," All for One said.
She immediately snapped up the coffee and swigged it. Soon she closed her eyes and her fury at the world seemed to vanish. She opened her eyes and glanced up at him confused. "Hello?" she said.
"Hello, did you enjoy your coffee?"
She looked at the coffee and squeaked like a small animal, "Oh my gosh! Where are my manners!" She got up and bowed, "Thank you for bringing me the coffee, I can pay you back!"
All for One nervously chuckled, "Oh not to worry. It was my treat."
She looked very relieved at that. "Thank you, sir. Sorry if I was rude before. I'm uh, not a morning person," she said rubbing her wrist.
He found her soft innocent demeanor positively endearing in light of the sheer terror she inspired in others.
"I'm Inko Midoriya," she said.
"Midoriya?" he said, "Like…" he pointed awkwardly at her head. Wait why hadn't he just said "like your hair?", "Like your eyes"? or even nothing at all?
"Yeah, like that," she said, pulling on her hair with a self-conscious expression. Uh oh, he'd embarrassed her!
"No need to be embarrassed. It's a nice name! And your hair is a lovely shade of green!" he said. Wait why had he said it like that? Now he just sounded ridiculous!
She blushed and gave him a relieved smile. That was close. (Had someone turned the heat up?) "Thank you Mr.-?" she said.
Wait, had he forgotten to introduce himself? How could he forget something so obvious? All for One took a deep breath "My name is…" What was his alias again? He thought for a moment, then said "Ichiro Rokubungi." (He really hoped that was right)
"Nice to meet you Rokubungi," she said.
He smiled at her. "It is a pleasure to meet you too Midoriya," said All for One. They stood their awkwardly. All for One searched for something to say until-
"Excuse me Mr. Rokubungi?"
All for One turned around as the CEO walked up to him. "I'm sorry to interrupt, but it's time for our meeting."
All for One looked at the clock. Was it already? "Very well," he said. After taking a few steps, All for One turned back to Midoriya. He hesitated for a moment.
"Midoriya…I was wondering if you'd, um, like to meet sometime and…get coffee?" he said, rubbing the back of his neck.
Her face went red., "Wha- Um- I mean I'd love too!" She pulled out a sticky note, wrote on it, then handed it to him with a nervous smile. "H-here's my number. Text me so I can get yours too. Nice meeting you!"
"Um, nice to meet you too!" He took the sticky and then quickly followed her boss away. As he did he felt a great sense of triumph, like he'd just killed a One For All bearer. Why was he even meeting her again? Oh right, he wanted to learn about her quirk. Meeting for coffee was an excellent way to do that. That must be it.
"So," said Midoriya's boss with a wry smile. "You and Midoriya seemed to be getting along."
All for One looked up from the sticky note he'd been staring at. "Yes, we were," he said, giving the man a confused look. "She was very friendly."
"I see," said the man. How odd. He was acting as if there was something funny All for One didn't notice. "Well I hope your coffee date goes well. Just watch out for Mitsuki. Anyway, as for our meeting…"
"So, why didn't you just give him your business card?"
"I don't know!" said Inko, getting redder by the second. "Maybe I just thought writing it would be friendlier?"
Mitsuki scoffed, and said, "I don't like that guy. He seems off. Also, he was totally staring at you yesterday."
Inko blinked. "I never saw him look at me."
"Maybe he looked away whenever you looked up!"
"Now Mitsuki," said Masaru, putting a hand on his girlfriend's shoulder. "I'm sure he was just being shy. Besides, every time Inko has a date, you sit at a nearby table to watch her anyway, so it's not like she'll be in danger."
Inko glared at Mitsuki, who was looking at a very fascinating wall off to the side. "You what?"
Masaru continued, "The man seemed genuine enough when he spoke with Inko. I'm sure if he was some kind of manipulator he'd do better than that."
"Maybe, but I still don't like him!" said Mitsuki. She turned to Inko. "By the way, didn't he show up yesterday just as you were getting your coffee? For all we know today he could have broken the machine on purpose just so he could buy it for you!"
"Please Mitsuki," said Inko. "He's just a businessman, not a scheming Machiavellian mastermind or something…"
Even I'm not sure if he broke the coffee machine on purpose or not...
Hope you enjoyed! Reviews make me smile!
Also I can imagine First's ghost's utter bewilderment at his brother's incredibly odd behavior toward this green woman...until he realizes his brother has a crush and is torn between gagging and laughing out loud...
