Fallout New Vegas: Chronicles of the Legion's Regime
Cass' Interview
One day, out on the Cassidy-Barton office, formerly the Crimson Caravan base and office, Cass was asked by a Legion explorer to come to the Fort and speak to Caesar.
Now she stood inside his tent where Caesar, Lanius and the commanders are looking at her.
"First off, you have my thanks in coming here. Know that you are not in trouble of any kind and we just want to ask a few questions." Caesar said.
Cass shrugged. "Shoot."
"First off, what is your name?" Caesar asked.
"Rose of Sharon Cassidy but call me Cass."
"And since you are a companion to the Courier, can you tell us her real name?" Caesar asked curiously. Not even Vulpes can find out Six's real name despite his best efforts.
Cass only shook her head. "Nope. It's a secret. Six told us all her real name and threatened to kill us if we tell you. I won't tell you even if it's safe though. I don't believe you deserve to know for her sake."
Aurelius of Phoenix shouted. "That's not good enough! Tell us her real name!"
Cass spat out." You don't like that? Tough shit. I answer to Six. Not you."
Lucius threatened. "You know we could detain you and torture you if Caesar wishes it."
Cass only looked smug as she pulled out her trump card. "If you do that, you'll have to explain to Six why you tortured and imprisoned one of the founding members of Cassidy-Barton Caravans. Without me, the partnership would suffer and Six is going to be pissed when she finds out you crippled the Legion's only caravan company."
Caesar scowled, knowing the Cass is right and she is an asset to the Legion. "Aurelius, Lucius. Enough."
Cass smugly smirked as she mentally said to herself. 'Diplomatic immunity rocks.'
Caesar decided to ask another question. "How does the Courier treat you?"
Cass beamed and said. "Six is a good woman. She looks after us and makes sure our needs are met. She is making sure everything is okay with us and our allies. Hell, she added those weird robots a year ago and they've been proven helpful so far."
Caesar became curious as he asked. "And how does she meet your needs exactly?"
Cass explained. "Well, I once had a mole in the Crimson Caravan company and I told it to Six. Six threatened that Don Hostetler with Christine and Veronica as her bodyguards but recently I heard that Don is riling up trouble to destroy the partnerships." She suddenly turned around and saw Ulysses with ED-E and told Caesar. "One moment please."
When Caesar allowed it, Cass asked Ulysses. "Hey 'Lysses, mind if burrow the flying robot for a while? I want tell Six something."
Ulysses nodded and connected ED-E to the Sink C.I which is Six. One moment later, Six's voice came out and said. "Ulysses, what's the status on the Great Kahns now that they've been resettled to Camp Golf?"
"Hey cowgirl, it's Cass."
"Cass! How's your company holding up? Business still good for you? I may have to put in an order for some .50 MG explosive rounds."
"Cowgirl, that Hostetler fellow is riling up my workers to bring back the Crimson Caravan company near his home."
A silence happened and had Cass been in the same room as Six, she would've noticed the temperature rise several degrees.
"You've done the right thing by calling me Cass. I'll take care of it. Don't worry, you've done me a great service by informing me about this. It's about damn time that Mclafferty sympathizer gets his just rewards." Six said through ED-E.
Suddenly, Antony spoke out. "Hey there 'cowgirl'. How about you spend some time with my dogs eh?"
And then in an instant, ED-E's 'face' went into his face and Six threatened. "Only Cass can get away calling me that and live. If you call me that one more time, I'll let the dogs piss on your ashes as ED-E disintegrates you." Before Antony can retort, Six cut off the connection and gave ED-E control back.
Cass gave ED-E back to Ulysses and thanked him. The man nodded then left.
Cass finally said. "And that's how Six tends to my needs."
Caesar asked. "What of her girlfriends? This Christine and this Veronica?"
"Christine's head looks weird with all the cuts but you'll get used to it and she's really quiet but she gets the job done. Veronica loves punching and taking stuff apart and putting them back together. I know that Six always brings them around in her travels and they act as her bodyguards or something."
Caesar asked again. "Is it possible for you to tell the Courier to separate from her girlfriends?"
Cass' eyes went wide as she answered. "No way. I'd be crazy to even try that. Besides I do not want to see Six get pissed off if you send assassins after her girlfriends."
Lanius asked. "The Courier has her own form of rage?"
"Yup. One time when Veronica and I were swimming at Lake Mead, the rangers back at Ranger Station Alpha we're taking potshots at us and nearly killed Veronica. When I told Six what happened, she was really pissed and she had Ulysses accompany her and stormed off. When I went there, there was smoke and ashes all over the station. Whatever Six did there was overkill."
Lanius inquired. "What kind of tactics does the Courier use?"
Cass shrugged. "No idea. She tends to order us around but most times she does it by herself. Six is a really strong gal and a great leader and I'm happy to be her friend and partner."
Lanius mused. "So for her service towards you, you are loyal to her?"
Cass beamed. "Yup. I know that Six would have my back in a pinch and she believed in me as much as she does her girlfriends."
Lanius just shook his head. "How sentimental of her. But admirable."
Vulpes asked curiously. "I wonder what will happen to the mole now?"
Cass just shrugged. "I almost feel sorry for the poor bastard. Almost."
Caesar asked another question. "Do you know the Courier's companions?"
Cass explained. "Aside for me, I got Raul to act as Chief repairman since Six replaced him with that Sink C.I. There's also grandma Lily who often makes trips to see Six and that Dog Nightkin. Christine and Veronica act as Six's bodyguards and agents. Ulysses brings Rex and ED-E with him while he surveys around the Mojave to report to Six. Arcade kinda acts as a representative for the Followers of the Apocalypse to Six."
Caesar asked another question. "Are there any rules or regulations, she had you follow?"
Cass nodded. "She pretty much let's us do what we want in the Suite so long as we don't make a mess. And when we're leaving Vegas through Freeside, she made it quite clear that we should bring a partner: doesn't matter who and to tell her WHERE we are going. Last time someone disobeyed that rule, it nearly got them killed and Six grounded them in the process." She decided to keep Veronica's name synonymous.
Lanius commented. "Only a handful of people and the Courier uses them to their maximum potential. Very impressive."
Caesar just sighed, Cass gave nothing away vulnerable Six but hides nothing. There's nothing he learned about Six aside from general information.
Caesar said tiredly. "Thank you for answering my questions Miss Cassidy. You may go now."
Cass made a 'hm' noise then left.
Lucius said. "There's no personal information about the Courier."
Vulpes added. "Indeed. She's an enigma. Even I couldn't find out anymore information out of her."
Caesar made an official order. "I'd like for you all to be close to the Courier. Monitor her and know what makes her stand out across the Mojave. I don't care what methods you use. Just give me information about her."
What Caesar didn't know was that the Courier is still a mystery.

Six cut off the communication then turned to Christine who is silently watching over her. "Did you tell Veronica to trail that Alice Hostetler?"
Seeing Christine nod, she added. "She'll have to be discreet in capturing her. You on the other hand will eliminate Andy Scabb and his henchman. You will deliver a note in his name to her father and meet me at their home."
Christine nods again and they left for the elevator.
Five hours later, Don woke up with a nasty headache as he soon took in his surroundings. He discovered that he is bound to a chair and saw his daughter and wife bound to chairs in front of him.
"I warned you. But you just have to go in and cause Cassidy-Barton Caravans much trouble do you? I made it fairly clear that the last time we spoke to each other was that you leave Cass' company alone and you disobeyed. It's time for you to receive your punishment."
Don's eyes widened at seeing the Courier Six. "You! I was only doing this because Alice told me to in a holotape explaining a contingency plan should anything happen to her."
Six scoffed. "And like a good dog, you obeyed her."
Don challenged her. "So what's going to happen now? You're going to torture me like you legion buddies?"
"No. I'm not going to kill you. I'm going to make you watch as my associates slaughter your daughter and wife in front of you."
She turned to Veronica and ordered her. "Beat the wife to death and bring the daughter to the Legion. She'll make a fine slave to the men."
Veronica powered up her Ballistic Fists and readied to punch Becky in the face. The fist nearly came to her nose before...
"WAIT! STOP! I'll confess it." Don said, defeated.
Six raised a hand to stop Veronica. Then she pulled out a holotape then tells Don. "Confess your thoughts against Cassidy-Barton Caravans."
"Uh..hello..my name is Don Hostetler and I am now recording on this holotape by-" Don didn't finish as he saw Six glare at him. "By myself. I am here on behalf of the late Alice Mclafferty to stir up trouble against the newly made Cassidy-Barton Caravans. I have some evidence to prove my sincerity and I only did this in the hope that my family will be spared. I do not know why my boss is doing this to her rival who is innocent but I am her employee. I have in my possession two holotape regarding her past dealings and ask for your mercy."
Six smiled and said. "That was better than I'd hoped for. Thank you." She nodded and Christine knocked Don out with the butt part of her Gauss Rifle.
Veronica frowned. "I don't understand."
Six said as they carried the unconscious Hostetler family. "Here's the plan: we dump the family bear the statues of the Mojave Outpost and leave the agreement between Alice Mclafferty and Gloria Van Graff on their persons. As far as the NCR knows, this is just some miracle that's happened to them due to the embargo they're experiencing back West. With Don's confession, it won't be traced to me."
Veronica pointed out. "Some might call it hubris."
Six shrugged. "It's only hubris if I fail. Either way, the letters can't be traced to me."
They left the family on the front of the Mojave Outpost. Needless to say that when Ranger Jackson discovered the plot of Alice Mclafferty and Gloria Van Graff behind the missing caravans, they held the family responsible for the embargo they are suffering and had them arrested despite their protests. With that evidence in hand, they enacted strict trade laws against the Crimson Caravan and the Van Graffs back West with little resistance and threatened to shut down their companies due to the evidence their bosses had. They assumed that Don Hostetler brought them the evidence which is what Six wanted.
Meanwhile, back at the office of Cassidy-Barton Caravans, Cass and Dale Barton clinked their whiskeys together and drank peacefully.
