Chapter 33
Amanda left without her bag. She didn't have anything not even her phone. She thought about going back, because honestly she didn't know what made her run. Then she thought about Liv and wondered what she would do to her. She had never been afraid of Olivia, but she defied her big time. She knew a friend that was close to Olivia's building and that's where she went. Amanda reached the front desk to find a mean, old looking woman cop. She didn't look nice like Olivia at all. "Hi! My name is Amanda Rollins and I need to see Doctor Melinda Warner." The old lady turned on her stool, "Do you have an appointment?" Amanda twisted her hands together, "No, but…" The lady turned around saying, "Well there's your answer kid." Amanda didn't have time for this shit, "Look you old bag, pick up the damn phone and tell Dr. Warner that Amanda Rollins is here to see here. Do your fucking job, it's not my fault your too old for the streets." Another officer heard Amanda and walked over. "Is there a problem?" the younger officer said. At this point Amanda wished the floor would open up, so she could jump in. The younger officer grabbed Amanda's arm, "Please call Warner. She knows me and I need her help." The younger officer let go and grabbed the phone, "Don't move! If she doesn't know you, I am hauling you in." Amanda took a deep breath. "Dr. Warner there is a kid here to see you. What's your name kid?" Amanda pouted, "One I'm not a kid, I'm 19 and it's Amanda Rollins." The young officer chuckled, "You look like a kid. Her name is Amanda…" He hung up the phone, "she's on her way down and it's your lucky day. Sit there and don't move. Officer Beck here will explain what's going on to Dr. Warner and everything you just said. Good luck kid." Amanda's face went white.
Five minutes later, the elevator opened and Melinda walked out to speak with Officer Beck. She saw her point at her and heard the exact sentences that flew out of Amanda's mouth. That old bag was pissed and Amanda started to get a little scared, when Melinda walked towards her. "Get up and follow me right now. Do you understand me?" Amanda shook her head, "Yes Melinda." When the elevator opened to Melinda's floor, Amanda froze, "Ummm I have to walk past dead bodies?" Melinda walked, "Yes! I am a medical examiner and you're in big trouble. I said follow me, so keep your head down and move it." Great Amanda thought, two people were mad at her now. When they reached the office Amanda heard, "Sit your ass down!" Well she definitely wasn't Liv, she thought as bad words tumbled out of her mouth. Melinda picked up her phone "Wait! Melinda I can explain. Please don't call Liv." Melinda put the phone down, "Really Amanda you come into a police building cussing out a decorated sergeant by calling her an old bag along with things I won't repeat and you don't want me to call Olivia. Well guess what I already name dropped Olivia to get you out of that mess down there. I'm pretty sure Olivia's on the way. So yeah I'm calling, hoping to get her first."
Melinda reached Liv alright, but not before the old bag did. Amanda could hear Olivia yelling through the phone. "Put her on the phone right now." Melinda helped Amanda out, "Olivia she was white as a ghost, I had my assistant take her to the bathroom and grab a soda. She hasn't come back yet. If you're busy, I will keep her for you and we can meet at the apartment. I can help in any way. What's going on, why is she even here Olivia." Olivia was pissed, "She's there because she took off without me knowing and has nothing and no where to go. I have had it with her and her ass is mine tonight. I'll be there in less than 30 minutes."
Melinda looked at Amanda, "Well you need to start talking." Amanda balled up her face, "It's because of David Haden. He was there today and him and Liv got into it. I was eavesdropping and...and… Melinda, they were together?" Melinda said, "So you ran because Olivia has been with other people? Amanda you knew this going in. What's the problem?" Amanda covered her face, "I know Olivia has been in relationships, it's not a problem and that's not why I ran. Melinda, Liv stood up for me, told him we were dating, to leave me alone, and slapped him in the face." Melinda was really confused at this point, "Okay and you repay her by leaving the building. She had no clue where you went. You show up to my job, cussing out a decorated officer. Why Amanda?" The more Melinda talked the worse Amanda felt. "I don't know." Amanda knew why. She ran because she had never seen Olivia like that. It reminded her of how her mother would react and it scared her. Olivia was different though even though she was fighting, it was for Amanda and no one had ever done that. Melinda shook her head in confusion and they both heard the elevator ding. "Well I suggest you figure it out real quick."
