Chapter 33
Using Tessaiga for support, InuYasha slowly stood. All his weight resting on his sword as he called out to Sesshōmaru. "Where the hell do you think you're going? You dirty bastard!" Sesshōmaru was not interested in dealing with a half injured Inupup. And continued walking away. "You sick piece of shit, you left that wolf do this to her. All for what? Just to get me to come here and make me angry and see if I can use this sword?"
InuYasha looked towards the bed where Miroku was now untying Kagome. He had found a bed sheet and covered her naked body first. "You're no Inu youkai, you're a lazy asshole. You could've smelled me out and fought me. I know now you don't give a damn about humans. And yet you're married to Rin. Dammit I thought you had some pride in you."
There was no time for InuYasha to react, Sesshōmaru's speed was a split second. A strong grip around his neck and the strong smell of poison was all he felt, before he realized what was going on. "No InuYasha, it is you who is the pathetic dog here not me. You are the one lacking strength and pride, but you are only a worthless hanyou. You can't even protect yourself from me. A true youkai would at least try to escape my poison claws. And yet here you are still in grasp, the skin on your neck. Slowly melting under my claws. The woman put up more of a fight than you are right now."
InuYasha's teeth were clinched, he was trying to raise his arm to at least try to slice through Sesshōmaru's arm. Only in a flash Sesshōmaru had spun around with InuYasha still in his grasp.
He used this momentum to throw InuYasha hard into the wall. Only the force sent InuYasha through three concrete walls leaving him in the crumbled remains. "Pathetic.." Sesshōmaru said and continued to leave.
Sesshōmaru was not one to care about anything or anyone, but himself. He protected Rin only because she showed him loyalty. He had grown to love her, but in his way not as other's love a woman. When he reached the black limo that was waiting in the back alley for him. An unpleasant feeling came to him at that moment. "Are you ready to go My Lord?" It was Rin, and at that moment what his brother just said bothered him.
Sesshōmaru Looked over at Rin, and nodded to her and began to think about what InuYasha had said. 'Ridiculous, why would I allow that horrible hanyou's words get to me? Rin is protected by me and no one will ever harm her. Still why do I feel angry by his words?' Once again looking over at Rin, Sesshōmaru began to think about what InuYasha had said.
After Sesshōmaru had left things were quiet. Miroku watched as Kikyo went to the dead wolf. 'She seems to care more for him than just for sex.' Miroku thought. He had coved Kagome and was supporting her as she rested. Through all the noise she still had not woken and it bothered him a little. Looking the direction InuYasha went crashing through the wall, Miroku hopped his friend could get himself free and wasn't to badly injuried. He wasn't about to leave Kagome's side with Kikyo still nearby.
There was a moan and suddenly Kagome opened her eyes. "Thank goodness you're awake." Miroku said, smiling down at Kagome. "You've been out ever since we arrived, I was starting to really worry."
Kagome gave Miroku a half smile as she tried to sit up more. "I must say I'm glad to see you Miroku, but where is InuYasha?" Miroku didn't really want to tell Kagome where InuYasha was. But the trail of destruction gave it away. "Oh no, Miroku please we have to get to him. INUYASHA!" Kagome's legs were weak, but still she would find a way to get to him.
"Kagome wait! You're still unsteady, let me help you." But it was no use, Kagome had literally crawled over the crumbled remains of the wall. She didn't care that InuYasha had left her at Sango's. He came for her and now she was going to go to him. "InuYasha, please answer me!" There was no answer though.
Still wearing only a bedsheet, Kagome continued to crawl over the rubble. Her hands started to bleed from cutting them on the sharp debris. Tears soon started to fall as she felt an emptiness. She could barely see due to the dust and she didn't have InuYasha's nose to sniff him out. So once again she called for him, her voice breaking up as she tried to keep from crying. "P-Please...InuYasha, ANSWER ME!"
"Ka…..go...me…" His voice was weak, but somehow she heard him. Miroku who had joined the search not too far behind Kagome. Also heard InuYasha's weak voice call her name.
"Kagome, he's close. Keep calling his name, it's all we have to go on. It's too dusty and dark to see anything."
Kagome did as Miroku said and soon her hand felt something. "Miroku, he's over here, but there's debris on him." Tears started to fall as Kagome slowly started to feel there was no end to this nightmare. "InuYasha, please I'm here. You have to stay with me okay, I need you by my side."
As Kagome cried, she felt something on her cheek. And soon realized it was InuYasha's hand. Tears ran down her face as she held onto his hand on her cheek. His voice was only a whisper. "Damn...you..know….I hate...when you…..cry.."
Kagome gave a half chuckle to his words. She was relieved to hear his voice at least. "You'll be okay InuYasha, I know you will. Miroku and I will get you out of this mess. And soon we'll be home and can live in peace."
In the other room where Kikyo still cried over Koga's dead body, a strong aura soon surrounded them. A thick black cloud consumed both Kikyo and Koga's body. A voice soon spoke and Kikyo froze. "Do you wish for the wolf to live?"
