Is It Lucky or Is It Risky?

IzuOcha Week 2021 – Day Four: Luck/Risk

Izuku Midoriya was in full concentration mode. He couldn't lose focus. What he was about to do… it would risk everything in his entire life. A risk beyond anything imaginable.

"And all I have to do… is…"

Sweat dotted his brows, the tip of his tongue stuck out the corner of his lips.

Whir…

Whir…

CLUNK~

"YES! I FINALLY GOT IT!"

He reached into the claw machine's drop chute and held the item out like he was Link from Legend of Zelda after acquiring a major item. Said item in question is a limited edition All Might figurine that Izuku never managed to get when he was a preteen. You swear you can hear the item acquired jingle in the background.

A face palm is audibly heard.

"Dad! Why do you have to be so embarrassing?" complained twelve year old Sachihiro Midoriya.

"Son! This is the figurine that escaped me when I was your age! I never got the chance to own this, and here it was in this claw machine, just waitin' for me to grab him and add to my collection. It's so friggin' sweet, son!"

He even giggled.

Sachihiro's face was red in embarrassment.

"Dad!" he whined, wanting to hide.

Izuku grabs his son in a one-arm hug.

"Bask in it, son!" he cheers.

Sachihiro looked so done right now.

Watching this scene from the eating section of the arcade building was Izuku's wife Ochako. She was in the company of Tsuyu Bakugo. Her husband, Katsuki, was elsewhere on the arcade floor playing games with their twelve year old daughter Hanabi.

"Wow. Even after all these years, Izuku's still a lovable dork," Tsuyu comments on the scene.

Ochako giggles.

"Yeah, you're right, Tsu. But he's MY lovable dork for the rest of my life. And I am so lucky to have him as the father of our children."

The two women look to the stroller, where six month old Reiko Midoriya slept soundly.

"Yes… so lucky."

"So, you going to scold him for wasting so much yen on the claw machine?" asks Tsu with a smirk.

"Later. For now, I'll let him enjoy his victory."

The two women had a good laugh together.
